Description of Work: The electrician came (there was some confusion about the date) for what he called "diagnostics." We discussed my electrical issues, he gave me prices for each one. I have to call to set up an appointment for the work to be done. Thank you for the reminder--I'll call today. The electrician was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous.

Description of Work: The guy they sent didn't have the proper materials (for work I had pre-arranged and was simple i.e. a busted light socket and replacing faceplates) , and it took him over an hour to go to Home Depot to get it. (Which is 2 miles away) Then he didn't finish what he said he would, because he'd gone over on hours. Turns out he had no idea that I was using an Angie's List offer or how it worked, and I was owed an hour of work. It took 3 calls to straighten it out. They ended up telling me the guy they sent was no longer working for them. To their credit, they did make it right and sent someone else who was on time, pleasant and did a good job. Sounds like they just hired a dud....but the whole thing was exhausting.

Description of Work: Did a thorough review of the electrical outlets. |It ended up that some of our plug-ins that we thought didn't work were actually set up so that one part of it turned on with a switch on the walls and one worked by just plugging something in. We are not the original owners of the home and didn't realize that sort of thing was common for the time period it was built. It would have been an opportunity for them to charge us for something that we didn't need (fix something that didn't need to be fixed, just explained) but they didn't do that. We really appreciated the integrity displayed. |Got a few quotes for optional updates while we were getting the electrical review, and we will call Toptec first when we are ready to have these done, because they have earned our trust.
