The landscape plan was magnificient, if not a touch over done. Due to pricing concerns we ended up going with another landscaping firm to actually do the install of the plant materials, and they came up with a few minor modifications which resulted in significant cost savings over what Premier originally quoted. The real issue though was the stone work. We had to teardown and rebuild the porch at 3 yrs of occupancy in a newly-built home, due to substrate issues, efflorescence, and other indicators of a poorly executed installation, and are tuckpointing has become a bi-annual expense for us...a significant bi-annual expense. Working with Premier was a pleasure though, and to their defense, they did attempt to remediate the porch at no cost to us, but it still had to be torn down and rebuilt. Of course we decided to go with another vendor for that project, as we could not give them three tries to get it right.

Premier was the landscaper recommended by our home builder, and were part of the contracting team. Their responsibilites included pavers, bluestone porches, hardscaping, landscape and planting design, and the other external features of the grounds of a luxury home.

We would like to clarify the details regarding your experience with Premier. In October of 2005 we were recommended by your custom homebuilder to provide a landscape master plan for your new residence. We provided this service free of charge and you were pleased with the final product we presented. Unfortunately, the budget exceeded the amount you wanted to invest in the landscape and hardscape for the project. After working hard to come to terms on price, both parties mutually decided it wasn’t going to be a good fit and we parted ways amicably. You proceeded with your project hiring a local company to install the hardscape portion and a different company to install the landscape portion. The hardscape portion failed shortly after the installation. After this occurred you went back to the builder and he recommended that you hire Premier to repair the mistakes of the initial hardscape contractor that you hired in October of 2007. We provided you with two options to conduct the repairs, one that would require substantial investment, while providing a long-term solution to the poor workmanship and a second option that was a temporary fix. You decided to go with the second option. We performed these repairs and went our separate ways. To clarify, we did not install the original hardscape or landscape, but were the contractor you hired to repair and rebuild the poor quality work done by the previous contractor. Additionally had you chosen the first option to repair the hardscape you would have minimized your long-term maintenance needs. At Premier, quality work is extremely important to us and we go out of our way to ensure every job we design and install is done correctly. We are sorry that you associated the poor work on your hardscapes with Premier. We are definitely not the least expensive option for custom landscape design and installation/construction, but quality is at the center of everything we do. We’re very sorry you ultimately had a bad experience with the other contractor and the quality of their work, but that was not our work. They did a very good job and I would absolutely use this company again if I need to get such work done.
Description of Work
They took out existing concrete for walkways and patio and put in new Holland brick pavers. They re-grated our entire front and back yard. They also installed drainage in the backyard to alleviate some swamping.
