I'm a homeowner of an older house in Arlington Heights, IL. We hadn't used our fireplace in some time and wanted Jiminy Chimney to come out and take a look at it. My husband and I just thought it needed a good cleaning, but wasn't sure if it needed more work. Regan, the girl in the office, was very friendly and accommodating of our schedule. She agreed that before I would purchase a special package that they were offering on Angie's LIst, Jim would come out and make sure that we would be able to use the deal. If he could clean the chimney, we would still be able to get the same deal. I thought that was very fair. Jim came out and after an inspection realized that we didn't need his service at this point and didn't charge us anything for his time. We were so impressed with Jim's honesty and the integrity of his company, that I wanted to take the time to write up this review. I would highly recommend Jiminy Chimney and will use them in the future.

When they arrived, I was told that my chimney did not fit the standard; however, he might have 2 that would fit. The first one did and the process took about 15 minutes. Since I had called to check on sizes, I anticipated that one would fit which is why I gave a B instead of an A for responsiveness. All in all, a good job and I would hire again.

Took two visits because of the nature of my chimney. Company followed through. Good job.

Jim arrived and let us know our fireplace was actually in great condition and we did not need the prepaid service, he immediately let us know he would process a refund. He showed us how to safely operate the unit and explained to us how to do minimal maintenance. He knew and named every component in our fireplace by name. It went fairly well. They got caught in traffic, but were very communicative and kept me up to date on their arrival time. They were clean and professional. (Clean can be hard when cleaning chimneys)

Went great, punctual, easy to understand

Joe protected everything inside before beginning work (a little later than planned due to traffic) and found some areas of concern we will need to address. I never knew we had cracks in our brick near the very top of the exterior of the chimney. He provided a report with photos and all before he left...very thorough, helpful and informative.

They were professional and on time but the price was way too high for what I needed to do. They didn't want to do what I needed to have done. They quoted my $1,200 per wall for the tuck pointing. I don't think the job was big enough for them so they inflated their pricing.

I was able to schedule this service after a prompt response to the purchase of the Big Deal. Joe called me prior to his arrival and was on time. He was very professional and made sure the carpet and surrounding area were covered before beginning his work. There were no issues with the fireplace, so he was able to complete the work within 45 minutes. I will call this company in the fall to clean the same type of fireplace in my lower level.

Arrived on time. Completed the service in an hour. Was very thorough. What impressed me most was the fact that although he cleaned a soot laden fireplace, not a drop of dust or dirt was found in the room after he left. Great job!

The technician called ahead to say when he'd arrive, was right on time, thoroughly checked the fireplace and explained how to safely use it.

The technician from Jiminy Chimney was prompt, polite and professional. He took out all the old stones, cleaned the interior of the firebox and put in new stones. He took all the dirty stones away. He also took out all the artificial logs, cleaned them and put them back in. The fireplace looks very good.

His recommendation was to replace the chimney burner and patch from the inside in order to have a good air flow.

We were purchasing a tune up and cleaning of our 16 year gas fireplace from this company. Scheduling was all taken care of back and fourth, very prompt. 24 hours always catching up. The technician was named Rich, he called a half hour before he arrived. He changed his shoes to not dirty our house. He took a look at our chimney and asked us if we ever use it because of how clean it was. He informed us that we really didn't need any cleaning or tune up. I commend them for their honestly and prompt service. I was def recommend them.

Jiminy Chimney was more than accommodating. After buying a house without full chimney inspections, and then finding out both the gas chimney and fireplace chimney were a mess, these guys helped me sort out all the different chimney sweep opinions and estimates I got. Too many of these chimney sweep companies try to take you for a ride, and they know you won't get up in the chimney to see what's really going on, nor would I even know the difference. This was an honest company that didn't try to oversell me and understood I could only do what needed to be done. I really felt I could trust them, and true to form, their estimates were honest - and didn't include all the extra stuff that wasn't necessary that two other companies gave me. Hence, we went with Jiminy. The owner even came out himself to inspect out gas chimney to make absolutely sure a new liner was needed, and then he beat the price of a competitive quote. The guys that did the work were on time, courteous, and professional. Although there's really no way for me to check the work, as I'm not a professional chimney sweep, I assume the work was done well as my furnace and hot water heater have been running and venting, and there have been no carbon monoxide detectors going off. Overall, a great experience. I would use them again.

The true mark of quality service is if a vendor has worked on your house, there is a problem, and that vendor responds immediately and corrects the problem. Jiminy Chimney installed a new liner and did tuck pointing on my chimney. I noticed I was getting leakage at the base of the chimney in the basement. I contacted Chad and he had Rich come out that day. He re-cualked everything, basement is bone dry! These guys are top notch! Five star. Highly recommend them.

Rich had some caulk with him so when I asked him to go ahead and repair it, he recaulked the area and never charged me a cent! I will definitely call Jiminy Chimney again if I need repair on my fireplace or chimney. Excellent service!

Company carefully installed stainless steel rain guards using a lift. Installers inspected chimney caps and applied caulk to seal cracks. They took special care to do their work safely and with high quality. Height of chimneys made the installation very difficult, but installers clearly knew how to perform their work properly. Very professionally done at a reasonable price.
