There were minor problems but it was overall a great experience. I set up an appointment for 9 o'clock in the morning and when he did not show up on time I called to verify the appointment. I called the office and the woman at the office confirmed he was on his way. After they arrived they were very effecient. He installed the new battery and checked out the sump pump. My only concern is that I requested to have an external PVC pipe examined but I'm not certain it was looked at. He was very professional and pleasant and I would use them again in the future.

Great service. How did I know the primary pump went out? My Basement Flood Protector DualCom battery back-up pump alerted me via sound, voicemail and email. Oh, and it alerted my sister too, just in case I wasn't home. So cool. So, any other time I would have had a flood...but not since getting my Protector DualCom! John helped me over the phone diagnose the likely problem. Tim, their installer, came out and installed a new electric sump pump (my old one was probably 10 years old), Prompt, timely, helpful, cleaned up well and I don't have to worry about a flood in my basement. He also checked to make sure my electric outlet was working since my old sump pump (from before I found Basement Flood Protector) had probably flipped the switch. Thanks Basement Flood Protectors.

Great -- see details above. In addition, this system will back up my primary electric sump pump, but it emits an alarm for those at home, and it will email and call up to 2 additional people/phone numbers to alert if there is a problem. Very cool. Since the company that built my home didn't connect the two sump pits, I had Basement Flood Protector also put an alarm on the other sump pump which very rarely runs. Another safety net but at a lower cost. It was a smart solution they offered.

Our basement flooded due to a broken sump pump this week. I called in the early afternoon and they sent roger out at 5pm to install and new one. He worked quickly and also went over some additional product information for us to think about for the future. I felt that their pricing was fair and appreciate the quick service! I would use again and recommend to anyone!

The men couldn't have been nicer. They arrived late, but called, and began work almost immediately. The foreman explained that they could not dig under one wall, but had connected their pipe to a drain pipe which then went into one of the sump pumps. The men jack hammered the cement, put in gravel and pipe and then cemented the opening made. I was very please with their courtesy, work done, clean-up and price. I had some questions about the drain connection and Rob, the man who did original estimation, came back a few days later to explain exactly what was done so that I would really understand and checked to see if the sump pumps were working - they were. We have had a lot of rain since then, and so far I am dry. The pumps are so quiet I can't hear them at all. I would definitely recommend them to my friends. In fact, my girlfriend called asking for their number as her sump pump went out in the deluge we had yesterday and her basement got flooded.

I just think they were great! They were very professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. I have no complaints at all and they were reasonably priced as well.

Rob Burke came to our house to ascertain why we were having water problems in our basement. He had many good ideas but also had Jeff Sloss, the owner, come by to investigate and make further recommendations. We met with both men and were given a concise, well-thought-out plan of action. They both presented logical, workable solutions to our problems so we felt confident in their expertise. The crew showed up as scheduled and had the bulk of the work done in 3 days. They were as unobtrusive as men with jackhammers can be! They did their best to contain the mess and to restore the basement to its original status--minus the moisture.

Initial visit to ascertain needs was very good. Got good info from the company rep, John, on what we had in the existing system and options available to improve the reliability. Made a choice of the system and got a quote on the spot. Scheduled install for about a week later. On the day of the install about 30 min after the scheduled time got a call that the installer would be about 1.5 hours late due to trouble on an earlier job. Rescheduled for the next day at noon. The installer showed up about 30 min late, but completed the job in less than the estimated 3.5 hours. We were disappointed that with a $2000+ system with monitoring we didn't receive a comprehensive owner's manual for the electronic monitoring system. All that was provided was a laminated one sheet "cheat sheet" that was cryptic at best. Hope they can provide better documentation in the future.

The job is always done when the workers finish, they never have to come back. They do good work and it's hassle-free.

The installation went very well. The installer arrived on time. He was very courteous and knew exactly what he was doing step by step. When he was finished he went over how everything functions and what I should look out for. Will definitely call them again if and when I need them.

I noticed the switch failure on Saturday and called them on Monday Morning. I got a late morning early afternoon appointment for the same day. Over the phone I was given an estimate of over $350, as the person said the whole pump would have to be replaced as failed switches are hard to replace on the type of pump I had. The technician arrived within the scheduled time. He looked at the pump and said he should be able to replace the switch without replacing the pump, which he did. He tested the pump to ensure it was working. It took him less than 45 minutes to finish the work.

I telephoned the company to purchase and have installed their top of the line DualCom sump pump system as a backup to my home sump pump. After speaking to the company on the phone, they sent a technician out the same day to perform the installation. The technician, Steve, arrived on time and was very pleasant. He completed the work in 3-4 hours. A minor complaint is that he was not very knowledgeable about how to operate the system electronics and control panel. When I asked him to show me all the functions, he repeatedly referred me to the quick reference card and the on line manual. After he left, I read the quick reference card and activated a test function. One of the two installed pumps failed the test. I called the company back, and Steve returned the next day to replace the faulty pump. My other minor complaint is that the company offers the full instruction manual on line, but does not give the customer a printed copy. For the roughly $2200 I spent on the system, I should get a printed copy. Besides, if the power goes out and I need to access the manual, an on line manual is not going to do me much good. Despite the minor issues above, I was very satisfied with the company and the system. It seems to be good quality with nice features and it gives me peace of mind knowing that it's there. I did not grade the price since I could not find any comparable systems on the market.

Installation went well. No issues. Cleaned up afterwards.

They were very professional in assessing how to solve the problem, explaining in full detail what they would do and how it would work. They put down covers to keep carpet and living areas clean and cleaned up before they left. Other than arriving 90 minutes later than promised, they were great!

After having a sump pump installed by a previous company two months ago and still getting water in my basement, I called Basement Flood Protector which I found through Angies List. They arrived on time, identified the problems caused by the prior company and determined a new sump pump and back-up were necessary. The installers came the next day, on time, and corrected the problem. They even fixed another problem I was having without charging anything additional. In addition to being prompt and knowledgeable, they seemed to really care about getting the work done the right way.

They responded and called me promptly the next day, listened to my explanation of need and gave me an estimate for a system that would meet my needs. As my need was not major and only for backup protection and peace of mind, they suggested one of their smaller systems, but would make a recommendation after a visit. The service person came in 3 days at the appointed time, assessed my system and installed the one that was recommended to me over the phone. I was not able to be at home during the installation, so he showed my wife what he was doing and explained the his assessment and the installed system. He was very courteous and professional. On my inspection, the system looks professional and just what I was looking for. Between my wife's explanations and reading the system manual, I feel confident that I can care for the system and that it will well meet our needs.

There was just one guy. It went very well. I was very pleased. The guy was very personable and professional. They were very prompt and on time.

Spoke with a representative who asked a variety of questions to determine what size pump I needed and how much it would cost. They sent someone out within a week who installed the pump with no problems.

I had water seeping into the basement where the concrete foundation/floor meet. I could hear a pump working so I thought it might be a structural or grading problem. When I called Basement Flood Protector Inc., Bill asked a lot of questions, had me check various things in the basement and determining my sump pump and back-up system were not working. (The pump I had heard working was an ejector pump, not the sump pump.) Bill scheduled a serviceman to come out that afternoon. He also called to let me know when the serviceman was going to be running a little later than scheduled. When Steve arrived, he quickly scoped out what was needed, got to work and installed all the replacement equipment needed. He also determined that the check values were not working properly and replaced those. I had concerns about the injector pump because of its age - and he could have easily sold me on replacing that as well - but he checked it and said it was not necessary.

After the drains were in place, the dirt and sod was replaced. The foreman of the crew told us that after watering for a week or two the sod would settle into place. After two weeks, we were unhappy with two parts of the job: the end of the drain was sticking up too high from the grass and an area of the sod wasn't settling down. After a number of phone calls and the cancellation of a second job that was to be done, the owner came out to see what we wanted done. Eventually they came to do the repair. The foreman argued with me about whether the work was necessary, but did the repair to my satisfaction. The second job that we canceled will not be rescheduled with this company.

They did a pretty good job with the installation and didn't have any problems at all with it. They knew exactly what they were doing and did it in a very reasonable amount of time. They aren't the cheapest around, but they do a pretty good job.

The installer arrived within 20 minutes of when he said, he would be there, and reviewed with me the work to be done. After going over the area and discussing the history of drainage in our yard and sump, he began the work. He completed the installation exactly as expected (including fixing a leaky elbow on my existing drain pipe), all within about 2 hours. e reviewed the installation, went over the operation of the unit, and provided instructions on how to register the system on line for automatic phone/email notification. The price for the work was exactly as quoted, which was also, the same price posted on their website. We also, discussed some issues with general drainage of my yard and he provided me with some ideas to help with the drainage. He is also, going to provide me with an estimate for additional work, that they could do, as well. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. The area was clean and orderly when finished. I am very happy with the job.

The company representative considered the problem during the estimate but determined they could get it completed. Also the estimator recommended a backup system which they sell but did not push the product once I indicated I wanted to shop for alternatives first. In the end I did buy their system even though I could have gotten a different system at a lower price. The installers upon looking at the job did not look upon the job as a problem when they arrived but indicated they would figure something out and get the job done which they did. They had to disassemble some of the furnace lines and dig in a confined area. During the job the workers seemed to take pride in getting this done right. They were also punctual and took care to minimize the mess one gets with digging up a basement floor. Any followup questions were handled promptly.

WORST CONSUMER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Within the last month of the warranty on a rainy evening with no power loss the PRIMARY AND BACKUP units failed. In the resulting flooding, I lost new carpet and irreplaceable items. After, I engaged the owner Jeff and requested help with paying for the cleanup, not the damaged items. I thought this was reasonable since BOTH products failed on the same day. Jeff refused. Both units were replaced, but when he returned the backup to the shop, he told me that there was nothing wrong with it. Then he blamed the battery, which I later tested and passed. He then told me he was losing money since he had to pay for the warrantied battery out of his own pocket and wasn't going to charge me for items under warranty. Thanks, alot. In my BBB complaint he called me a liar, declared that none of his products failed, and threatened to sue me! Maybe he feels like in addition to the $1166, lost days of work, and thousands of $ worth of loss, that I owe him more $?
