Excellent from start to finish

Nice widows, terrible customer service. I ordered windows on Aug 23, 2021. I was verbally told that they would be 8-10 weeks multiple times, but then was handed a contract that indicated 12 weeks for delivery, on Nov 15. The 12 weeks passed and I heard nothing from the company. One phone call or message saying "supply chain issues, staffing issues, pandemic issues, etc.," I would be understanding and I would have no complaint. Instead, crickets. The installation crew finally arrives on Dec 6 (15 weeks). I'm told that the 14 windows on my single-story house will take two full days to complete. I also ordered new doors and I am informed that the company has thrown in new storm doors free of charge. A semi-hollow gesture as only one storm door fits, the other being too small. I then find out that my dining room picture window was poorly made as it is 4 inches to small. The crew completes what it can and I hand the crew boss a check covering 80% of my outstanding balance (50% of the cost was paid at contract signing) on Dec 7. On Dec 20 I am contacted by the owner who's only question is where's his money. Informing him that 80% of what was owed was given to the crew boss as the job is incomplete, it still takes the company 24 hours to sort out their issues, with their accountant emailing me the next day to blame the crew boss for the misplaced check (crew boss swears he turned it in on Dec 8), and that they were going to invoice me for the remaining amount shortly, obviously clueless as to the status of my project. No invoice was sent, but the remaining window still took until Feb 1, 2022 to be installed, 23 weeks after I wrote my first check. When the installation crew arrived, they still did not have the missing storm door (crew boss had to run to the store to buy one) and a screen that was ripped during the Dec installation was not replaced. So now, On March 1, 2022, seven full months after my first phone call and $20,000 spent, the job remains incomplete.

Russ and his crew were awesome! We had all the windows replaced in our two story home (30 windows) and have loved the results. We got bids from two big box retailers and two smaller shops and Russ’ professionalism, non-pushy but informative approach, AND consistent trusted crew won us over. The crew finished in TWO days and we couldn’t be happier! Highly RECOMMENDED!!!

Everything went well from the initial meeting with Russ, the measurements, the appointment setup, and the installation.

This was our second time using the Chicago Window Guy service. Everything was simple for us, from the quote process, scheduling, and day of install. Someone from his office called to set up the install, the employees were punctual, professional, and worked efficiently to tear out the old and install the new. We are thrilled with the product and would highly recommend. The windows brighten up the room, the fold-in cranks are a huge plus, and the finish/trim work was very good.

The salesperson (and owner of the business) established initial rapport with my husband and me within the first 5 minutes and then proceeded to lose our trust during the rest of the 30 minute sales call. He interrupted my husband's legitimate questions saying "Now I'm going to teach you about windows." He refused to give us a written quote, giving us a verbal one on the spot, claiming that he was cheaper than anyone else in the business, and that he knew everyone else in the business and he would beat their price if they came in lower. He badgered us to reveal the names of any other companies that we were getting quotes from (we did not.) He refused to leave until he got a commitment out of us. We politely told him that we needed time to think things over and practically threw him out. Neither my husband nor I have ever met a more obnoxious individual in our lives.

I called Russ regarding a minor issue with one of my doors (screw was loose and interfered with lock) and was extremely pleased with his immediate call back. He sent someone out in less than 24 hours for a quick fix. I have had the best experience working with this company and absolutely will hire again for my next project. Can not say enough good things regarding quality products and responsible business practices. I had 6 sliding doors and 2 windows replaced last summer. My house is much more insulated and quieter from street noise! Great customer service!

Russ and his team were professional and very easy to work with. We replaced several windows of our home recently. Windows seem to be of excellent quality and the windows were replaced in a few hours and the team cleaned up before leaving. The windows have a lifetime warranty so thats a huge plus.

Having recently purchased a home I was dreading having to buy new windows. I always heard that they were expensive, hard to pick the right ones and a lengthy process. CWG proved me wrong! From the first meeting to the last detail completed, I had a great experience. I received well explained details and suggestions. The end result, after a slight problem which was taken care of to my satisfaction, was more beautiful than I imagined.

After moving into our new older home, we recognized the need to replace the windows at the front of the house due to cracks in the glass and rotting wood. We attended home shows and spoke with different window companies and invited them to our home for estimates to replace the old windows. Price wise, they were all pretty much in the same ballpark, but the Chicago Window Guys offered us the best deal. We chose the Window Guys because we were dealing directly with the owner instead of sales reps and that made us more comfortable during the presentation and their recommendations of choosing the right replacement windows. The Chicago Window Guys Team were courteous and professional in every aspect. From the person doing the measurements to the installation team. They were punctual, respectful of our home and cleaned up after the installation. We had 4 windows removed and replaced in less than a day. After 1 year, we can honestly say we have no drafts or issues with their windows. We would definitely recommend the Chicago Window Guys to friends.

Quote was done in the same day of initial visit. Measuring occurred as promised when I was available. Door was done very quickly. Installation was done professionally. Cleaned up afterward with no evidence of the new door even being installed. It has been almost a year and the door has stood up well over the winter. Great place to work with. Product made in America. I did go to the factory where the doors and windows are made and it was a very top notch location. I also liked the fact that a foot lock was included with this door that other manufacturers did not offer. We did have choice of hardware finishes too.

Our installation of new basement windows for our church was done in the fall by the Chicago Window Guys. Russ and his team were so professional, punctual, clean, and the finished product is beautiful! I first had a quote from Anderson, and almost passed out! Russ told me almost exactly what their price was, and his was over 50% less! I don't know why people keep wasting money with the big guys. We now have 12 gorgeous slider windows and the drafts are definitely gone! We could not be happier, and I would recommend this company highly!

Russ and the Chicago Windows Guys responded to our call for help in a timely way. After explaining that we needed 7 windows replaced because another contractor abandoned us after the windows they installed were in a pattern upside down to that required by the condo association for the building, Russ stepped in and saw the problem. He proposed a solution that would suit our needs as well as the condo board requirements. After a short turn around time, the Chicago Window Guys team did a flawless installation. Wonderfully! The windows arrived as promised, the installation was delayed only 1 day because of the stay-at-home government order. The installation team was efficient, professional and did a perfect job. We are extremely happy with the windows and the price was fantastic! Russ beat all the other quotes we had. I would certainly recommend that you consider them if you're looking for just 1 window or your whole house.

Great! Russ was easy to work with and kept to his word regarding pricing. I had the work done last summer but forgot to write my review. I was recently reminded because my house has been so warm this winter. No more drafts and I am able to keep the thermostat down for hours. Peter was in charge of construction crew and he was the jewel in their crown. They were extremely professional, very careful with my building, and left the place spotless when they were finished. I enjoyed working with the whole team and would definitely hire them again.

I went to their website and requested a free quote from their website (it's clearly listed on their website). Although I gave them detailed instructions regarding the number of windows to be replaced and availability, I did NOT receive a callback! After one week, I emailed Russell Armstrong directly via his email address on their website and STILL NO RESPONSE! I am a serious shopper looking for several windows to be replaced, they must have enough business because when an interested potential customer contacts them, they IGNORED me!! I should have called them but the method I used was much easier as I fit it in my busy schedule but they do NOT want my business!!!!!!!!!
