They walked away $350 richer in one hour. Considering he can buy  the thing for less than $40. I expected them to drive out here, put it in. If you cut one pipe you sauder another one in. You walk away and I didn't even get kissed.

the total cost for around 40 minutes of work was $288.20. according to the plumber, ARS charges a flat rate based on the job rather than basing the cost on the time spent fixing the problem. the job could've taken longer, he said, had he run into problems like hard water damage, and we would have been charged the same amount. I asked if we weren't, therefore, being charged a worst case scenario price. he repeated, no, it's just flat rate for that particular job which consisted of turning off the main water valve (he did have to use our crawl space twice to do that part, not fun), slipping out the old cartridge (which could have been a problem since it was all brass and could have broken off as we were warned ahead of time). if it had been a problem, how does the flat rate idea fit in? why warn us at all? solving it should have cost the same, right? fortunately for us, (not sure why, flat rate notion again), the old cartridge came out without any hassle, and replacing it took only a few seconds. I must point out that we are happy with the job itself. the faucet once again delivers hot water with great pressure and shows no sign of leaking as the previous cartridge caused. we are happy with his work, and he was a personable, likable rep for their company. I'm just really unhappy with paying the original $50 for $100 dollars worth of work and then having to pay $188.00 on top of that for only 40 minutes of labor. I will never do this again without first getting an estimate to help determine which company to call out! Make sure you have a solid quotation before they come out.

Everything went well. Clay--the tech that did the tune-up and inspection--was very knowledgeable, thorough, and he addressed my areas of concern. I will probably have them take care of a couple of issues that need to be addressed very soon.

I have only used them probably for the last 4 to 5 years. There is a particular technician or a plumber, a lot of times when I call, I will ask for him specifically. I really like him. He will give me tips on how to save money and how to do different things. He is really, really good. I don't remember the cost but it was a fair price.

Was arranged two days in advance to come out in evening. Then got a call 3 hours before earliest time when plumber was to arrive. They advise due to unforeseen circumstances, they could not get a plumber out until Friday. I understand last minute emergencies. But then delaying me 2 days. This is the last time I will ever call them again, and we have used them in the past.

I talked to the company twice about my address and if certain coupons applied for this specific Chicago address. They didn't show on morning of service that was scheduled until I called them. AT THAT POINT, they told me that I was out of the service area. I had waited 2 hours and stayed home from work to wait for this repair person. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL and INCOMPETENT to not catch this UNTIL I called them late on morning of appointment.

He was really nice and he said we could have gotten our air conditioner done too but we didn't really need it so I thought that was a nice thing that he wasn't trying to upsell us. It was just the furnace. He was very prompt. He brought the thing in and he wasn't dirty and fixed it all up, and it was quick because it was cold at that time. It was expensive but it wasn't unreasonable.

The service contract is very satisfying because it includes heat and AC checks. It also give you priority service if you need to call them out.

The air conditioning went out, so we had to do something. They do plumbing, air conditioning and a variety of things. I've used them for plumbing and other things too. They are a little bit more expensive than other people, but I think I'm paying for the service and the expertise or whatever.

Technician on time. In addition to the AC tune-up Technician added 1 pound refrigerant. The refrigerant price appear to be inflated. Did not notice much difference before and after the tune-up. My AC unit is old unit so not sure if it is due to my old ac unit or Ok work.

I found them through Home Depot. They were pretty good. They were here on time. They did a herculean job of replacing our second floor heating unit and stuff. They came in and did a pretty thorough evaluation initially, made some recommendations, and pointed out some of the issues that existed with our current system. They recommended a replacement and a replacement for the heater as well. Then, they came in and did the work.

The service provider acknowledged that my wife and I are entertaining several bids. He offered a twenty minute conversation or a two hour PowerPoint presentation - whatever we wanted. We aimed form something in the middle. The provider clearly explained our options. All well and good.

We were turned off by several factors:
  1. Price - ARS came in $300 dollars above other bids.
  2. Warranty - ARS offered 10 year parts / 1 year labor. We found 10 year parts and 10 years labor elsewhere.
  3. Professionalism -The provider wrote up the estimate and then informed us that the quoted price was not his best offer. He told us that he'd talk to his manager and give us his best price when we called to schedule the service. I was irritated by this unnecessary haggling.
