I will be attempting the repair myself or paying someone else to fix this. Mark was very uncooperative and unconcerned. The warranty company even more so! Last but not least, in February 2007 this same problem occurred with the same piece of furniture and was replaced, not repaired, within 2 weeks no questions asked! At that time I questioned whether the piece could be repaired. Value City, not the warranty company, instead replaced it! What s the difference? The warranty was still in effect and the 1 year warranty by Value City was also in effect until 8/8/07. Sounds to me like another company backing out of its commitments and leaving folks on their own.
Description of Work: We had purchased 3 pieces of leather furniture from Value City with a warranty from a leather warranty company (time of purchase was August 2006 and the warranty was in force for 7 years). Our dog put some claw marks in the side of the couch near the floor, just scratches. I phoned the company within the 5 day period they require. They told me since the marks are not "rips, tears, burns, or pet bodily fluids" which they do cover, the warranty did not cover this damage. I further explained to them that this is very minor damage repairable with leather dye only. I know this because Value City sent out a repair man to look at the damage and take pictures and he told me this. They won t repair scratches but will repair rips and tears just because the warranty says so. I then called Value City and spoke with Mark the manager who told me the same thing.

We liked the quality of the table once we opened it up at home, however it was missing 2 of the 4 table legs. We tried to call the store the same night we bought the dining set, but it was late and they were already closed. The following morning I called to explain the missing parts and was told it was no problem, just come back in with my receipt to pick up the legs IN A WEEK! They had to order more of the sets because we had taken the last dining set in stock. Needless to say, we could not eat on a dining table with only 2 legs. So a week went by and I returned to the store to pick up the legs. I spoke with customer service and was told to pull around to the pick-up dock in the back of the store. Once there, I was told that I needed to return the two legs I did have at home in order to pick up the 2 legs I needed. Nobody mentioned bringing the 2 table legs at home and I could not understand why I would have to do that. I spoke with the manager who finally resolved this.
Description of Work: We bought a wood dining room table from Value City Furniture. The item happened to be in stock at the store so we took the item home the same night we purchased it. It required assembly, but the table looked very nice for the fair price.
