Don was great! The bee hive was strategically placed in a hard to reach spot on the 2nd floor in a recessed nook behind our down spout. Don tried many ways to get his ladder secured to reach the beehive without success. Don would not give up and eventually found a safe way to reach and eliminate the hive. Withing 3 hours there was not a single bee still swarming. Would hire Don again in a heartbeat.

We called on Friday late afternoon and he was at our house Saturday morning. Nice man, very efficient and the nest is gone! Would not hesitate to contact him next time!

I called him to eradicate 1 wasp nest and he then found several more that I was not even aware of as he conducted a through inspection of the outside of my home. Don took the time to locate the anthills on the property (there were more than I thought!), dug up the hills and applied the ant killer. He also located the spots where the carpenter bees had entered our siding and porch overhang and injected the product to eliminate them. He showed up promptly and was very nice to work with. Once the bees are definitely gone he agreed to come back and fill in the holes they left behind. I would definitely hire him again!

I called Once Upon a Bug after looking for an exterminator on Angie's List. I didn't want to have to sign a contract for future services. We found a few centipedes and lady bugs and I wanted them taken care of. Don answered the phone right away and explained that the lady bug problem would take care of itself in a few weeks when the weather gets warmer and the bugs stay outside. He came out to my house later that same afternoon and inspected the exterior. He found several ant hills and lots of ants (I didn't even know about them!). He sprayed the exterior to take care of many different types of insects and then advised me to cut back a tree limb so that ants can't reach the house, to move some things we have in the backyard (e.g., a small storage bin) to prevent water and insects from accumulating there and to repair our sump pump pipe that had become detached and, as a result, water was building up. In fact, he temporarily reattached the pipe himself. Don was really terrific and thorough and said he'd be back to spray again if we get heavy rain within the next day or two. I'd call him again in a heartbeat!

Don has to return at least one more time to finish the work but we were very happy with what he has done so far. with our previous engagement with the wasps' nest, he took care of it quickly and effectively and his prompt arrival was greatly appreciated. We have had A plus experiences so far!

While performing routine extermination maintenance in September, Don noticed that an animal (he thought it was a skunk) had been digging in the front yard, presumably looking for grubs. He offered to set a trap to capture the animal. While setting up the trap behind some bushes next to the front porch, we both noticed that wildlife had been digging under the siding and perhaps was living under the front porch. Don explained to me that if he caught any animals, he would take them several miles away and release them. I liked the fact that he would not kill them. He baited the trap and set it. The next morning I checked and a skunk had been trapped. Success! Don came a few hours later to remove the trap. Fortunately, the skunk did not spray him and Don released the skunk far from my home. Don returned a few minutes later, baited and re-set the trap. To avoid making this review too long and repetitive, I will summarize the results of the next few weeks: 1 skunk, 5 opossums, 5 raccoons and 1 cat were trapped and released. (The cat was released in my yard and didn't take a ride to join the others!). All were driven far away and released. At that point, I decided that all critters in Lake County were coming to my house so I asked Don not to set the trap again. We discussed ways to keep the animals from digging under the porch and we decided that he would install concrete pavers underground to prevent further digging. I purchased the supplies and Don dug a shallow trench across the front of the house. He did a fantastic job installing them. Haven't seen any signs of digging since then. Fingers crossed that the animals have permanently relocated!

I called this morning after I found another 20 or so hornets in my house after cleaning yesterday and vacuuming 60 or so dead and dying bees. He came this afternoon and searched all around the outside of the house trying to find the entrance. Finally spotted it at the roofline where it bumps into the upper level. He treated the entrance with a powder that the bees will take into the hive which is inside the wall. I'm supposed to give it a couple of days and if I still see bees I'm to call him back. We expect a frost tonight so hopefully the problem is solved. He also offed advice for my chipmunk problem. They were really active today too. Very nice gentleman and very professional. I'm fairly handy and have sprayed wasps nests in the past but I would never have found the spot he found on the north side roof. I've never had bees in the house before. Whoops, there goes another bee in the living room.

I called Don Luker owner of Once upon a Bug in the morning to set an appointment for him to come out. He came out that afternoon and addressed our problem. He was very professional and knowledgeable and as he addressed the problem explained how these things happen and what to do to prevent them.

I called in the morning and Don was here by 4 pm. He sprayed a powder on all their entrances.I haven't seen a bee since.

I called Don on a Wednesday around 3pm and he was at my house by 5:30 that same day. I had a bees nest that was inside of the siding of my house right by my front door rendering the entrance useless unless I wanted to get stung. Don arrived exactly when he said he would, explained the problem and told me what he could do. He did his work and told me he would stop by the next morning to see how it looked and told me to give it 2 days to work completely. If the bees were not gone he would come back to retreat. I appreciated his honesty and his extensive knowledge of bees. He did follow up the next morning just as he said. I am happy to report the bees are gone. I also used an Angie's list coupon and saved $25 off the service. Don was excellent and I would not hesitate to hire him again.

Don sprayed the basement, upstairs living areas and outside around the foundation. He also noticed an area in the lawn where he suspected a skunk is digging for grubs. Upon further inspection, he located a spot where it appears a critter is digging under the porch. He will return later today or tomorrow with a trap. He is thorough and takes great pride in his work while providing excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

Don called me to let me know he could come over even sooner than we had arranged which was great. He was very professional and friendly and knew just what to do for our bee and spider problem. He did a very thorough job for a fair price! I would highly recommend him.

I had a contractor here replacing our front door when he discovered a nest of carpenters. I contacted Don as we needed somebody asap so the contractor could continue his work and he said "I can be there in 20 minutes". He was true to his word, addressed the carpenter ants and a few other issues we had. I would highly recommend him.

I am very pleased with the service that was provided. I called Donald on a Friday morning about removing some wasp nest that we had not been successful in removing with over the counter products. Don came out the same afternoon and resolved the issue. He was prompt, professional and went the extra mile. In passing I mentioned a mouse problem. Don offered to check the house for entry points and had suggestions about how to narrow down the problem. I highly recommend using his service.

Don was great. We had an immediate need to get rid of some yellow jackets as they had been attacking my family and stung both me and my dog. I called Don and he was able to come by on that same day, at a time that worked best for me. He arrived on time, put on his bee suit, and addressed the problem immediately. He checked everywhere we could think of for the source. Even though there was no obvious source (dead animal, garbage, in ceiling, etc.), he spent considerable time thoroughly checking our entire office building. Was able to come out the same day I called.

Don is simply incredible. When our house was under attack from carpenter ants, it added unnecessary stress to our busy lives. Don was able to put all of those worries to rest in less than a day. We called him up and he was able to stop by and help us out the same morning. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained to me each of the steps he was taking to remediate the issue.
