Going into the project, I knew that I wanted the lower handrail and spindles to match the upper staircase, and that I wanted to keep the old post at the bottom of the staircase that was never installed properly. Tom came with a lot of ideas of how to execute my vision. After I hired him, he arrived promptly to begin the project. The first day he completed the post repair and the small section of ceiling. Since the handrail was not anything you'd ever find in a Home Depot, Tom had to order it custom from a shop. Since the shop was bogged down with orders, we had to wait a week or so for it to be complete. Tom came back the next week to install the handrail and spindles. Tom was great at explaining everything he was doing and why he was doing it that way. The shaky post is now rock solid and the completed work looks fantastic! Did a great job matching the look of the handrail on the upper staircase. Would definitely hire again.
