Rudin was on time, professional and a pleasure to work with. He exceeded my expectations being polite, conscience of what to do best for my needs, and overall passionate about his work. He made sure he was working in the time estimated and immediately mentioned that he was going to go over the time quoted for the work needed. I also want to mention that the first time I called Alternating Currents, the gentleman who answered my call, was able to help me over the phone with a simple fix and somewhat embarrassing question. Alternating Currents is a business that wants to help and be best they can be for the owner needing service. This is company that will be around for years to come. An area of improvement, I would suggest is in the business office. The details provided on the up front quotation and lacking details. Need better explanation of the benefits offered, coupons being used, and services to be rendered. This I believe, would close any open loops in how the business could improve from a simple perspective.

They put cloth on the stairs to the basement so they wouldn't bring in dirt or mud from the back yard. They were able to run the wiring into the breaker panel without disturbing the wallboard. They were really quick and efficient. I had a landscaper do the trenching because I wanted other work done in the back yard, too. Otherwise, Alternating Currents would have handled the trenching for me. I rated Alternating Currents as "Fair" on price because I had five electricians come out to see the job. Only two (both from Angie's List) provided estimates. They were two dollars apart. If I had more quotes, I could rate them more accurately.

Marty was great to work with.  He is a very honest and ethical contractor.  He was very punctual when he came to estimate the job and also when they came to complete the work.  The two electricians he had do the work were great.  We are getting ready to sell our house.  I'm sure there will be electrical items on the home inspection that we will need to fix.  I will be calling them to take care of those items. Marty is a first responder that has built a very professional business.   I would highly recommend using them for your electrical projects.

The crew arrived promptly at 8am, including Marty, the owner. He and 2-3  electricians worked on pulling the 200 amp service into the meter, while another crew of 2 worked on breaker box in the garage. It was 60, but rainy and windy, miserable working on the outside but at least the 200 amp service was in place no trenching required. The crew pulled an extension line into my crawl space to keep my sump running, which was one of my concerns.

Before Marty left around 2pm,  he went over the work outside which would require inspection by my village and Com Ed. The remaining crew (2-3) worked on the panel box, and tested each line. We went over the breaker numbering so I could update my detailed reference sheet. Since this has to be inspected, the walls were left open. Dry wall patching is owner's responsibility, not a big deal.  They left the area clean and vacuumed up the dry wall debris before they left at 4pm.

Second time I used them; first was for fan installation and correction of 3 way switch issues, which really were issues at the  panel. This lead to replacing an aging (40 year old) panel that clearly was turning into a risk. I've had this on my to do for a while and glad it's done.

I'd recommend this firm to anyone in the western suburbs; crew was polite, professional, and efficient.
