EXCELLENT!! Brian who did the quoting was super thorough and patient. He answered all our questions. We chose ATLAS because of this. The other quotes we received were rather vague and we could not get them to come to talk to us about our questions in a reasonably quick time.
ATLAS was the most expensive ($2500 more) quote we obtained but we felt so confident they would do good job based on Brian's professionalism. We were not disappointed. The crews were punctual, polite, professional and nice! The five day job was hardly a bother to us at all. I would totally recommend them again, in fact, they are quoting on some carpentry projects for us, too, now.
When I called with my concerns, everyone at Atlas was extremely responsive, professional and quick to remedy the situation - too quick in fact, as the quick remedies did not solve my concerns. Wil and Rick were the final problem solvers (although I truly appreciated everyone's efforts) and they thoroughly explained the process and what I should expect from the repairs. Just one week later Rick and Tom re-dug one area to do a wider repair, covered the membrane so it was not only more visually appealing, but also contributed further to the waterproofing and per Wil's offering, added top soil to the area (a nice gesture).
Certainly a job that goes smoothly is the ideal, but I am very happy that when things were not as I had expected, the entire Atlas team was so willing to resolve my concerns. For this reason and the final job completion results, I would work with Atlas again. A special thanks to everyone for their patience, responsiveness and good work.
Just wanted to add that I initially gave Atlas a "B" for quality and professionalism only because of the initial work (and even that should have been a B+) - the final job completion and everyone involved after the initial work were truly an A+. I am changing the rating b/c I know how important reviews are and Atlas certainly deserves an A all around.
"After processing [Removed Member name] request for a refund of deposit, we immediately began preparing an invoice and sent it promptly to her for approval, once approved we would issue the full refund. Having not heard back, we sent out the refund after a couple of weeks. I apologize that this process takes some time, and I appreciate your frustration but we wanted to make sure we followed the proper procedures. Regarding the project itself, we did not present [Removed Member name] with a formal proposal (as we customarily do) because we acknowledged that there were several unknown elements to this project. Instead, we presented her with a Budgetary Estimate and explained (we must not have done this sufficiently and again, I am sorry) that this price was Budgetary and could change. Upon investigation, it was determined that the homeowner's existing sewer was not equipped to handle the project we were proposing. There was no way we could have known this prior. We also needed to extend the curbing around the footing because it was insufficient as well - again there was no way we could have known this prior - which is why we produced a Budgetary Estimate. We absorbed the cost of the engineering to ascertain these issues (over $500) and produced a full refund. I really think Atlas did all of the right things at every step on this project and am truly sorry that [Removed Member name] is disappointed. Chris Heintz Owner"
