"We have corrected the coupon discrepancy so this doesn't happen again. We contacted (Member name removed) to explain what happened and to try and resolve the issue. She had gone with another company but we hope that she does consider Evergreen Door & Window in the future."
The non-English speaking installers of the patio doors in the kitchen could not tell us how to work the interior blinds; were condescending ("Lady, we are not finished"), and very annoying.
Now the drawstrings that raise and lower the kitchen patio doors are stripping, and I fear on the verge of breaking.
Do not use this vendor - unless you can be as intimidating as their Polish speaking installers. BTW, I am of Polish descent, but don't understand the language.
The price was high $2,000 to mid-$3,000.
"Homeowner contacted Evergreen Door & Window for a storm door estimate via email. An appointment was scheduled and our representative was in route when they called to cancel. Since he was on his way, they met with him. They liked what was presented and wanted to move forward. A proposal was written up. The homeowners said they didn’t have a check for a deposit but they were interested and would bring it into our office and then sign the contract. After some time elapsed, a follow-up call was made to establish when we could expect them. We did not ask for more money, just a deposit. The write up from the homeowner is contradicting itself. They said they had not given us a dime yet but then said we demanded more money. We simply requested a deposit; we do not require payment in full at signing. No demands were made. We do not schedule a 2nd measurement when a valid contract has not been signed and no deposit has been made. They said we were supposed to send someone out to remeasure on a Tuesday but rather than contact us to clarify the situation, they state they waited until Thursday and emailed rather than call us. When the email was received, a call was made to establish when they were stopping in. There was apparently a miscommunication since they said their father took the message. They did not try to clarify the message by calling us but rather sent another email to demand a phone call from us by 7 pm. There has apparently been a gross misunderstanding and rather than talk to us, they slam us on Angie's List. This is an unfortunate situation that a simple telephone call would have cleared up. A follow-up call to the homeowner was made on 8/14/2012, to try and discuss the misunderstanding but Nancy Barron refused to speak with us. When she answered the phone and we announced who we were, she said good-bye and hung up. We have been in business for well over 50 years and have received numerous awards and recognition for being professional, honest and fair. You can't please everyone but a smear campaign is really uncalled for."
"We would be more than happy to help this homeowner. If he could locate his contract or receipt from us, we could move forward. We looked in our data bases and could not find them. Any type of proof that they are our customer will do. We don't repair other companies work since it could negate their warranty."
