Mike, a salesman with the company for 20 years, treated my mother like a mother.  She’s in an old school neighborhood.  I have no problems with him.  We had another company come out and they talked over her.  My mom is 86.  She didn’t know what he was talking about.  This guy I had no complaints with.  We are definitely having him install the windows.  He quoted me 4 doors and 6 windows.  He was $1,500 less than the other company’s quote on just 4 doors.  They are doing the work next week.

My experience went very well. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable in their field. The pricing was reasonable and I was pleased with the outcome of the service. I would highly recommend this company to others.

They installed windows in my daughters room.  They showed up on time and gave us an estimate as well as explaining what windows would work best for the room as well as the location of the windows on our house.  The day of installation they were here on time, did the job quickly and professionally . Upon completion they went over their work and explained to me how the windows worked and asked me if I had any concerns or questions. I plan on having them again for more windows as well as doors.

It was a really good price but when I told him I had a discount from Angie's List he said I could only use cash. He wouldn't honor the discount unless I paid with cash. These companies should stop discounts out on the website if they won't honor them.
Response from Evergreen Door & Window

"We have corrected the coupon discrepancy so this doesn't happen again. We contacted (Member name removed) to explain what happened and to try and resolve the issue. She had gone with another company but we hope that she does consider Evergreen Door & Window in the future."

They were outstanding, but the price was a little high. However, they were very efficient and knowledgeable. They made sure we were happy with the product before they departed.

Pros: I went to showroom initially to make selections. The company offers many styles and colors of entry and security/storm doors. The day of install the contractor was very professional and knowledgable and gave me recommendations for maintenance. The installer cleaned the work area afterwards. The new doors look great! Cons: The lock and knob selection is very limited. Door brands are limited. Initial install date was rescheduled because they were delayed at another job. The doors we selected were pricey considering they weren't the top national brands. The Evergreen installer put the old security door in alley without asking and metal scavengers took it before we could recycle.

First and main problem - salesperson was great; installers spoke very little English, mostly Polish. We were given an install date on the front and dining room windows, and had trouble nailing the actual date down.  The installers paid no attention to my new shrubbery under the outside of the front room windows, which were stepped on and smashed.

The non-English speaking installers of the patio doors in the kitchen could not tell us how to work the interior blinds; were condescending ("Lady, we are not finished"), and very annoying.

Now the drawstrings that raise and lower the kitchen patio doors are stripping, and I fear on the verge of breaking.

Do not use this vendor - unless you can be as intimidating as their Polish speaking installers. BTW, I am of Polish descent, but don't understand the language.

There was a mixup or miscommunication with service.   Evergreen was very easy to call and work out the solution to the problem.  Sales person and installers were great!   We will be using them to replace all the outher windows in our house.

They were prompt. They delivered what they promised. I never got back to them to tell them that when they installed the windows the nails are sticking out. Other than that they have never followed up. Honestly they just seem like they do one job and that is all.

From the quote process to work installation: top notch. Evergreen had installed several windows in the house before I owned it. I was impressed with the quality of the work--the home is an 1895 cottage in Pilsen and the windows Evergreen had previously installed were airtight--and reached out for the next round of installations. Possibly not the cheapest, but a great selection of products, knowledgeable and responsive staff, terrific service, and excellent installers. I've recommended the company to others and all have had good experiences (including an historic, custom installation).

The price was high $2,000 to mid-$3,000.

Never had any work done. Went to a different company and the door is now on order.
Response from Evergreen Door & Window

"Homeowner contacted Evergreen Door & Window for a storm door estimate via email. An appointment was scheduled and our representative was in route when they called to cancel. Since he was on his way, they met with him. They liked what was presented and wanted to move forward. A proposal was written up. The homeowners said they didn’t have a check for a deposit but they were interested and would bring it into our office and then sign the contract. After some time elapsed, a follow-up call was made to establish when we could expect them. We did not ask for more money, just a deposit. The write up from the homeowner is contradicting itself. They said they had not given us a dime yet but then said we demanded more money. We simply requested a deposit; we do not require payment in full at signing. No demands were made. We do not schedule a 2nd measurement when a valid contract has not been signed and no deposit has been made. They said we were supposed to send someone out to remeasure on a Tuesday but rather than contact us to clarify the situation, they state they waited until Thursday and emailed rather than call us. When the email was received, a call was made to establish when they were stopping in. There was apparently a miscommunication since they said their father took the message. They did not try to clarify the message by calling us but rather sent another email to demand a phone call from us by 7 pm. There has apparently been a gross misunderstanding and rather than talk to us, they slam us on Angie's List. This is an unfortunate situation that a simple telephone call would have cleared up. A follow-up call to the homeowner was made on 8/14/2012, to try and discuss the misunderstanding but Nancy Barron refused to speak with us. When she answered the phone and we announced who we were, she said good-bye and hung up. We have been in business for well over 50 years and have received numerous awards and recognition for being professional, honest and fair. You can't please everyone but a smear campaign is really uncalled for."

They were fantastic. We have an older house and we did not want vinyl panels ,we wanted wood. They were able to put in the wood with no problems at all. They were easy to schedule with and they came out in time. There was more plaster damage around the window than expected, which is somewhat expected. The salesman did somewhat minimize the damage. It's not a major concern. They took everything down and started from scratch pretty much. The whole experience was very good. he windows look great. I have not had to contact then about any questions and concerns. They did initially bring the right color screws, but they were quick to realize their mistake. They did everything they were suppose to. They cleaned up after themselves. They are absolute pros. It took about 3-4 days. They are every to communicate with. Their bid was the most honest. I feel like we were both on the same page about the job, and that's what made me choose them.

I was really disappointed with them and how they handled it. I then had someone else come out to install the windows.
Response from Evergreen Door & Window

"We would be more than happy to help this homeowner. If he could locate his contract or receipt from us, we could move forward. We looked in our data bases and could not find them. Any type of proof that they are our customer will do. We don't repair other companies work since it could negate their warranty."
