and monitoring. Plus, if I wanted to
make any changes in the future, I wouldn?t have to hire an expensive technician
with a minimum charge of $150+ just to show up to do something simple. I chatted with Safemart about which sensors
would be best for my slightly recessed outside doors, as well as a very
recessed door. Keep in mind there are
bigger contact sensors and small ones, (and hidden inside-the-door sensors)
If you don?t want to make your own shim (easily done with miniature wooden
?tongue depressors?, glued on top of each other, you can just buy the larger
sensors with looser requirements. Smoke
and motion and flood sensors were easy to install. They come pre-programmed to the Simon XTi
security ?panel?. You install sensors,
make phone appointment with Safemart so they can get you going ?live?, send
them your contact list, and order of emergency calling. For example, I asked them to call me first
if they get a fire signal, so I can prevent a call to the fire dept. if I just
had a problem with excessive smoke from the oven. I can remotely view status and arm/disarm, and
make changes from my smartphone anywhere in the country.
Great Customer Service and they aren?t pushy
Knowledgeable and patient security consultant team (ask for Joe Schutzman!)
Very responsive to system setup and technical questions about the various alarm system options and sensor components
Price match guarantee for systems and sensors
Monitoring Price point that is hard to beat!
In the end...I would definitely recommend Safemart.com to anyone looking to secure their home. They were a pleasure to work with all the way through the process and always kept me informed about what was going on. One of the best online shopping experiences I've ever had!
away if you have any questions.
I selected a fairly large assortment of devices, and prepaid for the year (which gave me 3 months monitoring for free). They shipped everything promptly, the instructions on use and installation were easy to read and follow and were self explanatory, and I was able to mount all the devices without difficulty. NOTE: I've seen several negative reviews stating that people were disappointed that no one came out to install the system. This is a DO IT YOURSELF system, where YOU decide what you want and YOU place everything where you want, and they monitor your house remotely.
All e-mails and calls to and from them have been very prompt and very friendly. They guy that called me to do the final set up could have used a couple cups of coffee before he called, but he was pleasant and helpful. A few nights ago my alarm went off in the middle of the night. One of my sensors had fallen off the wall and it tripped the alarm (I had wondered if it was going to stay where I had put it - my fault, not the device). SafeMart called me almost immediately to see if everything was OK.
After over a week, I would say I am pleased. My only complaint, which is minor, is that the phone app doesn't always accurately reflect the status of the alarm. If I set the alarm with my phone, and later disarm from the panel, the phone usually still shows that the system is armed unless you hit the "refresh" button on the activate/ deactivate screen. My wife's phone might show that the panel is armed, and mine will show that it's disarmed. Until you "refresh" it often just shows what action you last took with the phone.
When I first spoke to Nate he immediately checked my knowledge of the security options so that he could gauge my level of experience, which is a huge deal to me because I don't want someone talking down to me as if I had no education or
talking so high level that the assumption is that they are smarter than you. He made it a point to provide me with his contact information, and replied in a timely manner when I did send a question his way.
AWESOME EXPERIENCE! Happens very rarely, so I cherish the ones that I have.
All of the representatives I had a privilege of working with were professional, polite and competent. The entire process was one that I enjoyed and I would highly recommend SafeMart to others.
Not happy with sales ; now that I understand the product better I realize that sales dept maximized profit at my expense.
"Hi Member, I'm glad that we were able to resolve your issues. After you spoke with one of our Directors last Friday, you spent 30 minutes on the phone with Dustin (a technician) and came out of that conversation happy with the progress you made in understanding the full functionality of the system and all of the features that are available. It sounded like you were delighted with our responsiveness and support by the end of the conversation. While we aren't always the "cheapest" option (although most of the time we are 30-70% less than our traditional competitors), we do deliver the most value in the home security industry. I'm happy that in the end, you were delighted with our service and support and we look forward to working with you for many years to come! Please don't hesitate to reach out to technical support if you ever have any questions!"
Once I made the purchase, I spent about 20 minutes with another rep over the phone to provide all of the needed information and to schedule an activation appointment. I received the equipment 4-5 days later and completed the install in about 1.5 hours (note that I payed the extra $40 or so to have SafeMart pre-configure the system). That included a primary and secondary panel, 11 intrusion sensors of various types, 2 smoke/fire alarms, and 2 CO alarms. Most of the equipment can be installed with double-sided tape (which they provide) though you have the option of using screws as well.
Two days later I received the call for my activation appointment, which took about 15 minutes. They completed the activation and ensured that the equipment was communicating and functioning normally.
Overall, extremely positive experience. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to my family and friends.
ADT, Brinks, Titan, SimpliSafe, and Safemart) I settled on Safemart.
The review was done mostly online, but I did contact ADT, Brinks and
Titan. Of all I have to say Brinks was very responsive and quite
transparent (something I can't say for ADT or Titan - both wanted to
come to my house before even discussing any details). At the end I
settled for Safemart because it only required a 1year commitment, they
backed up their equipment with top notch warranty, and they used
standard equipment (same as used by most others - with the exception of
Brinks). I bought the GE XT system and have no complains. I was between
Simplisafe and Safemart and ended up choosing Safemart mainly because
their equipment is standard and Simplisafe's is unique to them.
I
researched several different options, exchanged several emails with
them, and when I finally decided I gave them a call. They talked me out
of some sensors which would not really add benefit to my location and
suggested some better ones. All in all, I ended about $10 less of my
original estimate. They pre-programmed the whole system, sent it to my
house, passed me on to the service company and got the service ready to
go. The equipment arrived 3-4 days later, installation was pretty
straight forward (they setup a call to walk you through the system), I
waited the 72hr "trial" period (to make sure you are used to the
system), and then fully activated the system (you can bypass this 72hr
"trial" if you so desire).
So far I've had no issues. I can monitor the system through the web or mobile, and control it as well.
