Once we became aware that our picture window had blown out, we found A Touch of Glass & Mirror, Aurora, Il listed in the Yellow Pages. It offered 24 hour emergency board up service. We called the number listed and a dispatcher took our number. Several minutes later, John, the owner of the company, called and referred us to his board up man, Mark. We called Mark who answered the phone right away.
Even though the weather was very severe with high winds and heavy rain, Mark said he would be right over as soon as he finished the job he was on. Mark arrived, assessed the situation, and calmly, efficiently and securely covered the window with 3/4" plywood and 2" x 4"s. His fee of $273. included $125. for weekend service. His fee was totally worth the job.
We were very thankful for Mark's quick and expert service. It was very worrisome to have a large window blown out and rain coming in onto our wood window frame and sill and wooden floors and a great relief to have a secure, warm house again. In the end, there was no lasting water damage.
