Horribly. His price will seem good at first, until you get into the project and realize he's been scamming you to get you to sign a contract. Right off the bat after we signed the contract he started changing the payment schedule. He would also constantly make up new things that he said he would find that we were required to do. When we pushed back and told him not to do it because it wasn't necessary and we were not paying extra for it, he literally told us we were stupid and that normally he tells people what they need and they just pay him without question. He would refuse to show up for weeks at a time. When he did show up, he would come late in the day and work for a few hours. After months of this, he did make some progress, but the quality of his work is terrible. We've had to either fix or completely redo almost everything he did. After we finally fired him, we had everything checked out by several inspectors as well as a structural engineer. Almost every single thing he did was wrong. At this point we basically get to start over. Here are a few of the items: The beam in the basement and the one on the first floor are too small and we have to replace. A lot of the studs and new flooring aren't even nailed into anything because he doesn't seem to know how to use a nail gun. The plumbing leaks. The windows were installed wrong. The stairs are coming apart already.
