The company was working in the area at the time ...so they came over within 3 hours ....determined the program....replaced the plump and new check valve and everything has been working well. We did not even have to print the 10% coupon.

I called and they came within the hour even though it wasn't an emergency. They got right to work. It took them about an hour and they were concerned that they couldn't get to the root of the problem without cutting a hole in the wall, but they fixed the clog. They also gave some advice on other drains. They gave me the 10% Angies discount even though I couldn't print out the coupon.

I accepted the quote and work was completed to my satisfaction. I then asked the representative to provide a quote on rodding the bathtub which was stopped up. I received a quote and was after checking with the dispatcher was advised he could complete the work the same day. My tub was rodded and a leaking pipe repaired at a reasonable rate resulting in one happy customer.

Went ok. after speaking with owner, our concerns were addressed.

The answering service was very polite and professional. Someone called me back promptly and said someone would be at my home between 10 and 11 am. At 11:30, I called the answering service and informed them no one had come. The original person that told me when the plumber was coming, told me how busy they were and someone would be there in a half hour. A hour later, right before I was ready to cancel the whole thing, the plumber, Jason, showed up. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. He was very attentive to keeping things clean while he worked. Jason was the best part of the experience. Having to wait for 2 hours past the original given time was frustrating. I don't know if the company was particularly busy or that's how they operate. I would use them again, but if I had to wait again, that would be their last chance.

They we good but not punctual. I called at 6:30 am and estimated time of arrival was between 8-10, they came about 1:00. Only 1 bathroom so coming quickly would have been nice. Also, mentioned Angie's list over the phone and that I would have someone else at the house as I needed to go to work. Gave then senior ciizen discount but forgot to acknowledge link to Angie's list. The price was a little high for a clogged toliet.

When Daniel came out to give us an estimate on the repair of the water pipe he provided us with a measure by measure of what it would cost to repair and fix the leak. He was very upfront. He gave best case versus worse case costs of the job to be performed. He let us know that he was experienced with village codes/requirements and work permits. This job was performed in -0 degree temperatures. That is outstanding in itself. Daniel stayed in contact with us to show step by step the work being performed. This is very important to the budget minded condo association board as we definitely answer to all owners and it is very important that we can explain step by step what work performed costs.

Install was great, fast and I got a video at the end to make sure that there weren't any issues.

Came on time during freezing temps when pipes were bursting all over the city. Found the issue right away and fixed pipes. We'll done.

I called J & S Plumbing at 12:45 am 1/10/14. They came out 10:30 AM the same morning. They cutaway a small section of dry wall and replaced two sections of a ruptured water pipe. The whole process took just over an hour. They were polite and explained the repairs they made and told me that the repairs have a 1 year warranty.

The provider did an excellent job. He fixed a frozen water line and replaced hoses for the washing machine. He was very friendly and helpful.

We woke up and observed an inch of water in the kitchen floor. We called several Angie's list grade "A" plumbers. Most of them are very professional, but all were extremely busy due to the high volume of work with the severe weather. J&S personnel who answered the phone was knowledgeable and provided good advise to start with. We did turn off the main water vault, but got additional advice over the phone to turn on the faucet to get the water in the pipe drained. Mark from J&S called around noon and came by within the hour. They were extremely professional. They brought booties and put cloth on our interior floor to prevent bringing snow from outside. Lucky for us, we did not have a broken water pipe, but rather a plastic part in the dishwasher was broken. Mark and his partner did the inspection in our kitchen and in the basement and confirmed the source of water leak. He explained the possible reasons for such a leak and advice us to keep the dishwasher area warm. We will have to call some professional to come and fix our dishwasher later, but it is a relief to know it was not our water pipe.

J&S Plumbing had fast turnaround given the holiday period. They were able to send over John . Our sump pump had broken. He replaced it within an hour. He was quick, efficient and professional and cleaned up the well area after as well. Great job and thank you!

The customer service and workmanship was top notch. I could tell the plumber had a strong pride of workmanship. This was quick, quality, professional help.

Two plumbers showed up around 9:20. They told me immediately I had other problems. At one point they told me they needed a part and would need to leave for around 45 minutes. They finished around 1:50 and spend a half hour putting away their stuff and probably talking about what they were going to charge me. They put in new stuff underneath, like pipes and a trap. The thing is, I supplied the garbage disposal and faucet at a cost of around $350.00. So, the bill was basically labor. I asked the plumber to break the bill down by parts and labor and I got a long story that didn't answer my question. I was charged $333 per hour. Are these surgeons or plumbers? I feel like I was ripped off because they won't tell me what the labor costs are, or how they arrived at their charges. How did they figure out the bill? I am going to contact the company and see if they will break the bill down for me. I think they need to be more transparent. Whatever they come up with, the charges were exhorbitant. I talked to the owner of the company on 11/29/13 and he offered to send me a check for $300.00, which I accepted. Update: I received a letter from Sean McGrath. He said that the plumber who charged me had left the company and offered me an additional $100. I think I still paid too much considering I never had the benefit of an itemized bill, but I appreciate the owner's efforts. I have revised my review accordingly.

I used Matt from J & S plumbing, and will only use him in future. Scheduling was super easy, he was punctual. We did a complete gut job of the bath, kitchen, and laundry room. I was coordinating all this myself between the electrician, plumber, and construction guys, and Matt helped me considerably with telling me the process on where/when the plumbing goes in. He was straightforward, he understood exactly what I needed, and he gave me several options. The home is over 110 years old, and things have been done half*ssed every decade, and he took the time to really see what was going on, what isn't a problem now but could be soon, and was reasonable in his recommendations. He explained why things are manufactured different now, and what is causing issues. He gave me options for getting things running (bare minimum), getting things to a better place, and getting really tuned up and flying (everything). He explained the realities of maintaining whatever we were doing - new laundry hookups with a flutter valve. He wasn't pushy, he was straightforward. Yes, we could have kept the main drain for the entire house the way it was, it being original to the home and the inside probably rusted beyond belief, or we could get new pipes in there and having it set for several decades with newer, better materials. When the drain came out, yeah, it was pretty bad. Everything was done beautifully, and timely. Again he was realistic, saying this is an all day or half day gig, and he was spot on. The basement looks so much better with the new pipes and organized how they should be, by a professional. His work is by far a bargain for what they charge, and you have peace of mind knowing you're set and things are done right.

After having J&S in the previous week to try to rod out a sewer line that was severely congested with tree roots, we realized as soon as we did a load of laundry afterward that we needed to have further action taken to resolve the problem with the clogged line. Being happy with what they did before, we called J&S again and set up a date for the work. They took care of getting necessary permits from the village, called Julie, etc. The crew arrived promptly at the time that was scheduled. They dug out and exposed the sewer line and installed an outside cleanout access and cleaned the roots out of the sewer line. When they were done they ran a camera through the line so we could see it. They also found and made us aware of a small pipe offset problem down closer to the street, and explained that we didn't need to do anything about it now but if we start having problems in the future we might need to fix it. They finished with a minimum of damage to the front lawn. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs plumbing services. They are professional and really know what they are doing. We will definitely be using them again in the future if we need plumbing/sewer repairs.

We were having problems with water backing up into the tub and shower and toilets having problems flushing after and during showers and when the washer was running. We called J&S because we had used them before on an exterior faucet replacement. They came out that same day. They rodded out from the access in our crawlspace, and when they hit a spot they couldn't get past, they called for a camera so they could try to identify the problem, which turned out to be roots in the line. They cleaned the line out as best they could, although they could only open up a small diameter in the pipe given the line was severely congested with roots. I was advised that if we continued to have problems we would need an outside access installed in order to really clean out the line, and they gave me a quote for that work. The team that did the work, Jason & Nick, were friendly and professional. They showed up right when I was told they would and they took care to put down tarps on my carpet and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. They also marked the lawn as to where the outside trap would need to be installed in case we decided to go ahead with that work anytime in the near future. Even though the rodding was only semi-successful due to the condition of the line, I was impressed with their work and would recommend them highly.

From the first conversation with Brian at J & S I could tell he had deep expertise in installing internal drain tile solutions and I had confidence he would ensure the job was done right. When he quoted me the best price I was honestly a little skeptical but J & S was highly rated by Angieslist so I decided to go with them and I was not disappointed. They were able to schedule me over a month earlier than another company that gave me a quote, plus Brian said he would bring in a larger team to do the job as quickly as possible. They started on time and It took them a little more than a full day's work so they were in and out in less than a day and a half. The quality of the work and the professionalism of the team was first rate and I liked that I worked with one person from the initial quote through to the completion of the project.
