Price was great, quality was outstanding! Somewhat slow to start but worth the wait.

Description of Work: Replaced drywall around my fireplace that had been damaged by a chimney water leak. Painted where needed. |They removed all damaged material and cleaned up when done. Very prompt and kept us informed through the whole process. No surprises. |I had a house fire a few years ago while I was trying to sell my house. The work they did, great communication, and again no surprises that when all work was done the house sold within 4 days. I trust them and would gladly recommend them.
Very unhappy with their services! They destroyed our house, threw nasty stuff in our garbage and recycle bins and did not complete the job. They were recommended by State Farm. Actually, the adjuster who made us go with them was fired for unknown reasons. Now we are stuck with their crappy workmanship. The worst is they lost our cabinet door and expect us to pay for it...huh? They messed up our hardwood floors and threw garbage down our a/c shafts. They ended up doing the floors twice, because of their workmanship the first time. Also, these guys are not local. All of the workmen were from Chicago. The painters and cabinet installers were good, but the guys who did the hardwood floors destroyed our floors and treated our house like trash. Don't hire these guys!

The moisture was taken care of and dried. They were neat and tidy and tested for mold growth when we noticed a spot. Their estimate came in within what we were billed.
Description of Work: We had water come through a window from a window well. They looked for water damage and assessed for mold. They set up dryers and dehumidifiers and checked back daily for moisture. They were very professional and timely and answered all our questions.

They used lower quality materials to get more insurance money than the 10% overhead and 10% profit allowed by the insurance company. A horrible experience.

Great--and continues to be great.
Description of Work: Our house burned to the ground last May. Work with and through QCI has been ongoing ever since and is not yet complete. Every single employee we've dealt with has been wonderful, pleasant, informative and most importantly, understanding. QCI is acting as a general contractor and financial adviser, working within our budget from the insurance company and keeping track of all the expenditures on our behalf. We are absolutely thrilled with them and recommend them to everyone.

A tree fell on our roof -a limb even poked through the ceiling of the upstairs closet. Once we got the wood removed I called QCI to have them come and cover the damaged roof. It was raining that day and water was leaking in through the holes left by the tree, so time was of the essence. QCI was at my house in less than 90 minutes and they tarped up the roof to prevent any further damage. They also took pictures so that the insurance adjuster and roofing contractor could see the extent of the damage without removing the tarps. Very professional crew!

It was done under insurance and they paid a contractor to do it. Chris was the guy that came out. He was friendly and gave me the options. They let me know ahead of time when they were going to do the work. Everything was done on time and it was clean and good. There was no mess and they did it in one day. It looks good. They were efficient, friendly and they did good work. The insurance company had two roofers come out and they picked out the one they wanted. It was a $6,000 job and I paid my deductible of $1,000.
Description of Work: I used Quality Craft to replace the roof because of hail damage.

Initially really liked the company. I liked that they had defined process and that the company used a software product that provided clear and thorough proposals and work plans. Salesman was readily available by email which worked great to communicate the proposal and changes, etc. Although higher priced (including charges of 10% for overhead and 10% profit; does anyone else charge for profit)? They seemed to have resources to manage a thorough job. I was less impressed with the execution of the plan. My first hint of trouble to come was that work plan was not completely populated. The staffing and supervision of the contractors, or the lack thereof, caused me to spend more time managing the supervisor. I questioned some of the items in the final billing and company agreed and reduced the bill by the suggested amount. The drywaller did a fine job; the workman responsible for the plaster texturing did a great job; painter, not such a fine job especially in laundry room.
Description of Work: Water damage restoration work including installing new dry wall and painting in finished basement, small family room area, storage/electrical closet and laundry room. Some textured plastering to match existing finish in family room. I chose not to use this company for carpet installation because they were not price competitive.

Our problems occurred during heavy rains in the Chicago area, and it was hard to find someone who could come within a week. I called on a Thursday. Quality Craft could come on Friday or Saturday to do the work. They arrived on Saturday. We had already pulled out most of the padding, but the carpet remained. At that point, they told us that since the job was not being submitted through insurance, we needed to give them a check for $2000, and they would refund the difference if that sum exceeded the total. This should have been explained when I called. They performed the work described. The industrial dehumidifier they left broke on Sunday, and they were not able to replace it until Tuesday, at which point we lived with wetness for more days than we should have. When I called to settle the total bill, it seemed like a run-around. They said we owed Saturday overtime (which I had not been told). We eventually paid $1100. That's way expensive for the work provided. We felt taken advantage of.
Description of Work: After fairly extensive seepage in our finished basement, the carpet was ruined. Quality Craft removed the ruined carpet and tack strips, hauled it away, applied some disinfectant/deodorizer, and left some dehumidifying machines for a couple of days.
