This is my second experience with Next Door. Ray R. came out to the house after he called to let me know when he would arrive and asked if I might need a bit more time since it was first thing in the AM. Nobody has ever asked if I needed more time! A+ for that one. Ray was cordial, courteous, and got right to work. The problem I was having with the garage door was quickly diagnosed. After no time at all, the door had a new spring and was in service again! I really appreciate the work ethic shown, the kindness, and affordability. Thank you, Next Door.

We called Next Door on Sunday and left a message. They returned our call early Monday morning and by 11 am Next Door had a repairman at our house and within 30 minutes the spring was fixed. Ray, the repairman, also fixed the light on the door opener, oiled and lubricated all parts, checked door balance, checked photo/safety eye alignment and replaced 2 weather strips.

Good advice, great show-room, lots of options, made the difference. Next Door could have easily over-specified and suggested more "door" than I needed. Next Door's Pragmatic advice about the different levels of insulation, for the purpose and our life-style and use of the garage, gave us the information we needed to make the right decision.
Next Door was comfortable in our own shopping time-line. We looked in mid December, then committed and purchased in mid January. We called and asked questions several times during the month before we finally purchased. Their no pressure sales approach helped convince us that Next Door was more interested in giving us the final outcome we wanted, over pushing a sale.
In addition to being a Veteran-owned business, which hires and employs other veterans Next Door was a recommendation from my mother-in-law, who they helped with an urgent repair to her garage door opener, which also gave us confidence in choosing Next Door, Inc.
Everyone that stops by really likes the replacements, with windows. Jan - Mar earlier this year, the insulated doors made a noticeable difference in keeping the garage warmer. The insulation addressed a frost-issue we had every prior year where the inside of the old un-insulated door would build up frost on the inside during cold spells.
When I finally DO need garage door openers, I will call Next Door, Inc.

I was afraid that the way my tracks looked so bent and with the garage hanging off the track that I was looking at a new garage door or at least rails and a repair/replace of over $600. The guys were able to come out that day and only charged me $90 to get the garage running smoothly again and lubed the whole works.. So happy I didn't have to come up with the big bucks. I have used NextDoor in the past and will continue to do so.

Bill walked in the garage, closing and opening it. Then he adjust it. for a $135 call fee.
He then told me that there are some broken parts which needs to be replaced for another $55 on top of the call fee.
I agreed to do the work, however when I asked which part was broken, Bill said "the plastic piece" then "the bearing". As I asked again and again for him to show me exactly which part was broken, he then showed me the "roll pin" which is a part of the gear kit and said that it shouldnt move while he was actually moving it around. Doh! Its a roll pin of course it should move. Although I am unwilling to fix the garage door myself and I didn't have to rely on my background in engineering much , I can tell hat the 'roll pin' is designed to rolls!
Bill's story changed to 3 different parts, the plastic thing, the bearing to the roll pin, which as far as I can tell, seem to be intact. I have the old parts sitting in my garage and will inspect them again. As far as I can tell, nothing was broken. Old and greasy but not broken.
Although the work seems fine and my garage door is working now, I felt that the service person was being untruthful and was unable to provide satisfactory evidence of why the gear kit needs to be replaced.
** UPDATE ** The manager called me this morning 04/25 and explained to me what went wrong. Apparently the bushing in the gear kit was the issue. Bill was correct in replacing the part but was incorrect in explaining and clarifying why it needed to be changed.
I am satisfied with the explanation from the manager and therefore have changed my rating of Nextdoor from a C to a B.

When I called for an appointment, I was handled in a courteous manner and scheduled for service the following day. They were willing to accommodate my work schedule by coming earlier in the morning than usual. Bill arrived on time, gave me a fast answer as to what the problem was and how much it would cost for the repair. He had it done in 30 minutes or so. He was very professional and polite. After he left I felt that the job had been done right and for a fair price. The opener works great now and is quieter than it used to be.

They were completely thorough, and we felt confident putting our house on the market knowing that the garage door was fully up to code, fully operational and would work with confidence while we still owned the house and well beyond for the next owner. Everything was greased, replaced, tightened, tweaked and whateverelse needed to be done to make the door move with ease and the motor as quiet as possible. I had another company out, and they wanted to charge me to replace the entire door and motor! We were assured that it wasn't necessary by Next Door, and they did not put their own pockets before our needs. Plus, they gave us tips for maintenance, and a small reserve of track grease so we wouldn't have to pay for another service call. Such honest professionalism!

Very well. Paul and Lena were very nice and responsive. Paul came to the house, took a piciture of the house and then got on the web showing how the different doors would look. Helped my wife decide and we were done. Lena said the doors would be ordered and installed in about three week and they were good to their word. The are excellent to deal with.

The showroom had examples of many doors. The salesmen was very knowledgeable and provided many options that fit our budget. Was able to show us almost the exact door we selected in their factory. The delivery date was on time and the installation of the door was completed to our satisfaction. The people we worked with were extremely courteous and professional.

This is the third time we've used Next Door. Two times for emergency issues--broken springs and a broken opener. Paul, the owner, provided excellent service and provided honest answers to our questions. He ordered our door and scheduled the install. Two days before the install, I had to request he delay the install for several days due to the new concrete that we had poured. This was no problem and he came the next week to install the door. Bill, the serviceman who did the install was very competent and had to do some adjustments due to a low soffit in the garage. The door worked great and he and I tested it quite a few times prior to him leaving. Later that day the door would not close.. I called the Next Door office and Lena, the office manager, had Bill call me right back. He returned and fixed the door and we have had no further closing/opening issues. We are very satisfied with the service, install and quality of the product. Paul, the owner, called later that day and thanked us, asked if the install went ok, asked if we were satisfied and provided warranty information. He let know that we should contact him anytime if we have any issues. I would highly recommend Next Door for all of your garage door needs.

Our door had gone out of commission and I had noticed the gears were stripped. Even though I thought of myself the handyman to fix the issue I chose the better solution and called Paul. He was very prompt and quick to diagnose the solution. My initial idea was right however it took him only 10 minutes to replace the gears where as it would have taken me days...and that's if I did it right the first time. But that was not the actual problem as the motherboard was also fried and needed replacing. These were all better options than the whole door itself and it saved me a lot of time and frustration. Paul walked me through the whole process and gave me tips on annual maintenance so that he doesn't have to make the annual trip. Some companies might not do that. The service was prompt, affordable and extensive. They will also give you a call after the service is provided to ensure that you are happy with the work.
