Next Door was comfortable in our own shopping time-line. We looked in mid December, then committed and purchased in mid January. We called and asked questions several times during the month before we finally purchased. Their no pressure sales approach helped convince us that Next Door was more interested in giving us the final outcome we wanted, over pushing a sale.
In addition to being a Veteran-owned business, which hires and employs other veterans Next Door was a recommendation from my mother-in-law, who they helped with an urgent repair to her garage door opener, which also gave us confidence in choosing Next Door, Inc.
Everyone that stops by really likes the replacements, with windows. Jan - Mar earlier this year, the insulated doors made a noticeable difference in keeping the garage warmer. The insulation addressed a frost-issue we had every prior year where the inside of the old un-insulated door would build up frost on the inside during cold spells.
When I finally DO need garage door openers, I will call Next Door, Inc.

He then told me that there are some broken parts which needs to be replaced for another $55 on top of the call fee.
I agreed to do the work, however when I asked which part was broken, Bill said "the plastic piece" then "the bearing". As I asked again and again for him to show me exactly which part was broken, he then showed me the "roll pin" which is a part of the gear kit and said that it shouldnt move while he was actually moving it around. Doh! Its a roll pin of course it should move. Although I am unwilling to fix the garage door myself and I didn't have to rely on my background in engineering much , I can tell hat the 'roll pin' is designed to rolls!
Bill's story changed to 3 different parts, the plastic thing, the bearing to the roll pin, which as far as I can tell, seem to be intact. I have the old parts sitting in my garage and will inspect them again. As far as I can tell, nothing was broken. Old and greasy but not broken.
Although the work seems fine and my garage door is working now, I felt that the service person was being untruthful and was unable to provide satisfactory evidence of why the gear kit needs to be replaced.
** UPDATE ** The manager called me this morning 04/25 and explained to me what went wrong. Apparently the bushing in the gear kit was the issue. Bill was correct in replacing the part but was incorrect in explaining and clarifying why it needed to be changed.
I am satisfied with the explanation from the manager and therefore have changed my rating of Nextdoor from a C to a B.
