Lifeline Plumbing Heating & Cooling

They took a very quick look and explained I needed a brand new system. They didn't test my back up battery or let me know what was working or not. They simply proceeded to let me know that I needed a brand new system. I pretty much knew that anyway. However the system that they recommended was $3,880.00!!! And that was the lower end system!!! I found the same system online for $1,200, so that means they were charging $2,680.00 to install?!?!? They were nice enough guys, but unless you have a lot of money to spend on sump pump/back-up system, try someone else.

The experience was very pleasant. Sam called to give me an idea of when he would arrive. He arrived during the window he predicted. Once here, he looked at the areas I had for service and agreed to provide me with estimates for the work. This Company bills by the job and not the hour. I appreciated that he spotted a problem with my kitchen sink which occurred as a result of faulty installation. He installed my new faucet (that I supplied and removed the severely rusted old one!) He repaired my sink making it more secure given the constraints of the sink's mounting. Sam gave me several options for replacing my sump pump which had just died (due to age and the rainy June, I'm sure). I appreciated that he gave me all the options but made suggestions based on my circumstance (location of my home, amount of lift, etc.). I did not take the sump pump configuration that was suggested/ideal as I felt I was getting a better unit than I had and I have been in this house for 10 years without incident...as a matter of fact my old pump gave out during record rainy period and I had no flooding! So I got the standard pump with a high quality alarm, no battery back up (as I rarely have lengthy power outages in my area due to underground wiring). Sam was thorough and neat. Cleaned after his work and showed me all of the things I needed to know about my new equipment. While I sense I could have paid less for the work/pump/service, I was willing to pay a little more to get quality, knowledgeable, professional service which I received from Sam. I would have him come back and I have other plumbing work that I will have him do.

I have used Lifeline a couple of times. Last winter, they did a HUGE project for us - excavated our driveway, put in two check valves on our sewer line, installed an ejector pump - now there is NO water backing up into our home because the sewers are too full from heavy rains. They were great on that job. Recently, we decided to call them when one of our sump pumps was acting strange. And, as expected, they were very responsive, on-time and professional. I have met a few plumbers who work for Lifeline and the owner. Everyone is very nice and explains what is going on and what needs to be done. I never feel like I am in the dark and I am never confused. They also understand families have financial restraints. They will do their best to give you a fair price and offer discounts when possible (within reason, of course).

Lifeline plumbers have done work for us a couple of times. They completed a HUGE project for us about six months ago. This time around, they replaced a sump pump that apparently had rotted out. The plumber, Steve, showed me the primary pump and the holes in it. I have dealt with several of Lifeline's plumbers and their owner. Every time, they explain things in great detail to make sure you understand exactly what the problem is. They give you options - and explain the pros and cons of each option. They show you what they are doing. You never feel unsure, confused or in the dark. They are eager to answer your questions. I also always feel that they understand financial constraints families face and they do their best to work with you. Lifeline is a very professional company and they always show up on time. We are so pleased with this company that we have decided to sign up for their yearly heating and cooling service checks.

Service was great. They took apart the whole air conditioner to clean everything out, this was the first time a service tech has done this on the air conditioner. Cleaned up a lot of dirt.

I had a faucet handle which wouldn't turn off the water, leaving a small stream of water dripping out. Lifeline scheduled an appointment within the week. The plumber who came took a brief look at the problem and gave me 3 estimates, covering the potential internal problems he could find when he got the handles off. The plumber put extra effort into maintaining the lowest price, even though he had to return with additional tools to fit an odd-sized part that was very old. He also took time to explain what was wrong, and even showed me the chip in the old seat.

I did not hire this company because they wanted to charge me almost fifty dollars just to come out and bid on my kitchen remodel. I can't even believe people pay for estimates or just blindly hire companies without an estimate. It's a lousy business model to over charge people, especially when you haven't done any work for them.

8/26/2015: As above, I don't see my new review, but ditto the old one below. Steve came out and was, as last time, calm, patient and competent, and explained what was needed and what he was doing. Steve is a great plumber, very nice person, and this is a terrific company, to charge a flat fee rather than hourly. I WILL ALWAYS CALL LIFELINE IN THE FUTURE FOR MY PLUMBING NEEDS, and no, I don't work for them, or have any relations that do. I'm just so thrilled to finally find a company that has really good employees, and that don't try to cheat us in any way. It's so refreshing! 6/3/2015: You must try this company. Lifeline has FLAT FEES, rather than hourly, and they STAY AS LONG AS NEEDED to do the job right. How refreshing is that?! Steve replaced a very old, problematic toilet. He gave us three choices of new toilets that Lifeline considers the most dependable and told us costs up front. We also had the choice of purchasing a toilet on our own, and he would install. We liked that Lifeline warranties the toilets they install. We chose the Kohler Gravity Flush model and Steve returned a few days later and installed it. Both days he gave us a time window for his arrival, and arrived promptly. That was a change from other repair services. Steve went beyond the call of duty by cleaning the floor really thoroughly before installing the new toilet. No plumber has ever done that for us before. He was personable, polite, and kind. I will always call this company for any future plumbing jobs and have decided to try their heating and cooling services in the future. Also their flat fees are so wonderful--it is why we could afford to go with a more upscale new toilet. What a change to feel happy with a service, and not feel taken advantage of as has happened so often with other companies. I want to add a note of thanks, not only to Steve, but to one of his fellow employees at Lifeline, named Cole, who repaired a toiiet for my son and daughter-in-law. My son raved about Cole, but since my son and his wife are extremely busy at this time, they asked that I include that gentleman in this review. So, thank you Steve and Cole, for being such fine people, and thanks to Lifeline for choosing their employees so well.

I purchased an Angie's List package from Lifeline - sump pump installation. Originally I thought this would be a back-up to one already in the pit, but after some discussion with the techs, I decided to upgrade the purchase to a more powerful pump and use the less powerful pump already in the pit as the back-up. They cleaned out the pit, then set up the two pumps - making sure that they would operate off of the whole house generator if power failed. Hopefully this will prevent any repeat of the flood we had in the past! I was given instructions on how to test the system. Then they cleaned up the area, taking with them two defunct sump pumps for recycling.

Joe P was the associate who came to the house to service it. He was very prompt, give me a call about 30 mins before coming, was very professional and courteous. He explained exactly what he is doing, walked thru the whole process. Unfortunately, my AC is old and had a leak, which was not worth servicing, but Joe was good enough to clearly explain the problem, and show the potential areas where it could have leaked. I have to replace my AC, but having someone like Joe provide information makes it easier to make a decision quickly.

I called Lifeline a Monday morning letting them know that I needed my sump pump repaired because its had stopped working over the weekend. Mike, the person on the other end of the phone booked me in for 4pm the same day, which was great. While on the phone he asked about how I had heard about Lifeline and I told him through Angie's List. I then also mentioned there was a $40 off coupon for Angie's List users. Mike then proceeded to tell me that there is also a 20% discount also available for Angie's list members and the all I needed to do was mention it to the installer (which was Tim). My scheduled time was 4pm but Tim called up around 3:30 and told me he would be at my home in an hour. I thought it was great customer service that he called BEFORE my scheduled time. He arrived on time at 4:30. When Tim got there he assessed the situation and offered me options with pricing (I thought that was good too. I liked the fact there were options). I chose one and he proceeded to do the work. He was efficient, and the work got done in half hour to 45 minutes. He left everything clean and neat. Payment options were check or credit card (I paid through CC). Tim was courteous throughout the engagement and even asked about the tomato plants I was growing. Overall Lifeline did an excellent job. they were courteous on the phone, they called ahead of time if they were going to be late, Tim (installer) was courteous, professional, and cleaned up after doing the job. I have no complaints and would use them again.

He was prompt and very personable and honest. He could have said we need a new air conditioner since it was so old but he didn't. He said since it was still working to just keep an eye on it and give him a call when we needed him. We will use him again to check out the furnace in the Fall and when we need the new air conditioner we will be sure to call him. I highly recommend him.

I called the company just after AM today, a Saturday. I actually called 3 companies and Lifeline was the Only one to pick up. I thought our sump pump was malfunctioning and was hoping to get someone either the same day or right away Monday. Lifeline told me they'd send their service guy out between 4 & 7 PM. I received a call from this same service tech about an hour later asking if he could stop by in 30 mins. Ryan came in and looked over our sump system, checked the pump, and determined it did not need a $750 replacement. He was professional, well dressed, used shoe covers to enter our house, and couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The service call was $79, but worth much more to my peace of mind. Next time I need any plumbing, I'm calling Lifeline!!

Joe arrived promptly to do routine maintenance on our air conditioner. He was pleasant and answered all our questions. We are happy with the service he provided.

They were very thorough and it was worth the cost to better understand the status of our plumbing situation. They were stop on that we needed to replace our sump pump and batter backup. They both failed about 3 months later.

Steve from Lifeline was able to come out the same day we needed help with our waterline. He was very efficient and he went out to get the parts he needed came back and took care of the valve installation. Because Steve was so prompt and worked so quickly, we were able to get our refrigerator delivered that same day. Thanks!

It was fine - they had to come back because the water flow issue was not fully resolved which cost more and still is less than optimal. All other services were done perfectly and I am pleased with those outcomes.

Very quick. Said checked battery levels,never saw it. Inflated prices for service, materials and labor. $237 to change a check valve when they are al;ready here???
