My 20 year old ejector pump had been making some noise for awhile. It finally failed and my floor drain filled up causing overflow onto my basement floor. Since I had used Lifeline Plumbing once before and was super-satisfied with their service, I grabbed the phone number off of my refrigerator magnet and gave them a call. From my initial call to the answering service, to Scott for details follow-up, to Jamie to confirm the arrival time, to Evan the service technician, it was an easy, professional, service-filled process, Evan arrived and confirmed that the pump needed to be replaced. What I love about Lifeline is that they always arrive with a binder full of all of their services with fixed price choices that include parts and labor so it's a flat all-included fee. The consumer just chooses from the "good, better, best" level based on the desired service. I truly believe that you get what you pay for and chose the higher end option. Evan himself was very professional, personable, and answered all of my questions and even shared additional info that I wouldn't have thought to ask. He took away the old pump for recycle, installed the new, tested it extensively, secured the cords away from any heat sources, showed me how it operates and what to expect when it is in use, advised me of the warranty, and cleaned up leaving the space better than when he found it. I was extremely happy with the service and professionalism from phone call to finish and that is why I have Lifeline Plumbing in my "house folder" as my go-to company for any plumbing issues. I highly recommend Lifeline Plumbing because of their professionalism and exceptional service. Lifeline, keep up the great work!

Joe performed the A/C inspection and cleaning and found the refrigerant to be on the low side. He offered to top up the unit, but being that my A/C unit was barely 2 years old Joe agreed I should have it inspected by the installers for a possible warranty claim. I was very impressed he was looking out for my best interests and not just trying to sell me more services.

The installation went well except for part of the wall board on the other side was chipped, but the next morning the shower did not work. We called to have them come back out to fix it. Later in the day, the service rep called and told my husband what to do to get it to work again. Apparently, it's quite common for this to happen after having the water turned off. Even though it was an easy fix, I would have thought that, if it was so common, he would have checked that before he left instead of leaving us without morning showers. The unit itself has been very good over the last 2 months and, although very expensive, it is nice to know that we are not using energy that we don't need by heating water all day and all night. 2. Air conditioning service. The gentleman who came, while very nice, looked at the unit and immediately indicated that we needed a new unit. He was much more interested in selling new product and that really rubs me the wrong way. We are in the process of searching for a new unit, but it's been running fine over the last two months since they've been here.
Description of Work: This provider has good and bad points. We have had two issues this summer that we needed to have addressed and it's only fair to separate them here as they involve different personnel. 1. Water heater died. I gave all information to the customer service person including the water heater numbers and styles. She even told me that it was self vent. They did a great job getting someone out that day, but they didn't have the water heater on the truck that was self vented as "the woman did not relay that information to them". I don't understand how that would happen when she asked all the appropriate questions. At that time, they used the opportunity to upsell us on a very expensive tankless unit. I appreciated the fact that the service person wanted to give us all the facts, but after throwing the customer service person under the bus, "she doesn't know anything about it", when she clearly was the one who advised me what type of water heater we had, it makes me think that this was a deliberate attempt to upsell product. The service person offered to take time away from his wife "even though she would be mad" on a Saturday, but that didn't seem right to me so the installation was scheduled for Monday and we were without water all weekend.

This could not have gone better! We worked with Corey at Lifeline, and he was excellent. At each step, he took care to show us exactly what the problem was and went over many options for dealing with each issue. I would recommend Lifeline plumbing, and Corey in particular, to anyone who needs plumbing work done.

Not a bad company, very professional, seemed like bait and switch, get there and sell you expensive services. Price for new battery $415 seems a little excessive! If I purchased more services my bill would have been well over $2500. Again solid company, just expensive and saleszyy.

Member, Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing. We read every review that comes in for our company and learn from them. We do strive to offer very high quality service and products especially when it comes to your sump pump and flood control system. The batteries we provide and stock on out trucks are designed to last three times longer than products at the home store. We understand they are a little more expensive, but we feel that in the event of a power outage, they are worth it. We do appreciate the business and we are always here for you in the future! Evan and Anthony were professional, courteous, and treated my home with care and respect. They made extra efforts to ensure our pets did not escape. Communication: Provided clear, concise answers and information. Both were extremely knowledgeable, instilling customer confidence. They listened and addressed all questions and concerns. Prompt: Called with a lead-time, since water and gas would be interrupted. Arrived as scheduled on both days. Informative: Evan made the customer feel like a partner in the project. Explained project options and benefits and all specs of the replacement water heater. Went above-and-beyond to ensure that each and every dollar spent was communicated and accounted for before starting the project. Absolutely no surprises. Very happy with the cost and Evan?s efforts to provide good value. Detail-orientated and tenacious:They did not settle for ?good enough?, striving for a perfect installation. For example, our faucet had been installed sometime before 1987. Evan removed all the rust/grime on the sink, beneath the old faucet plate before placing the new faucet plate. Clean-up was excellent. Hauled away all equipment and left the basement area cleaner than they found it. Assured the customer that, should the need arise after the installation, help was available, and any and all questions encouraged. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: On 8/5/2015, Evan replaced our kitchen faucet and provided an estimate to replace our hot water heater and remove a gas hot tub heater. We accepted his estimate and Evan and Anthony returned on 8/6/2015 to complete the project.

The problem started with dripping. Lifeline came by first and fixed the dripping problem. However, the divert then became the next problem. I had no idea why. I called Lifeline and they took care of it nicely. They ordered a Kolher's faucet and had it send to my home at no charge. Then Evan from Lifeline came by on the following weekend (yes, they work on weekend too!) and fixed the divert problem by replacing the faucet with a brand new one from the original manufacturer. Again, at no cost to me. I am very satisfied with the way Lifeline takes care of its customers. I will repeat and will recommend it to my friends/colleagues.

Absolute fantastic work! Evan called with an update on his ETA prior to arrival. When he arrived, he was extremely knowledgeable and did an amazing job listening to the problem we were having. After about 10 minutes of diagnostics, Evan laid out multiple options for resolution and gave me the pros and cons of each, as well as a cost breakdown. He allowed me to choose the option I felt most comfortable with and preformed the work right then and there. Afterward, we did a walkthrough of the work performed and we could immediately notice substantial improvement. Overall, Evan was extremely knowledgeable and professional, while also being detailed oriented and offering up some very sound advice. When troubles arise in a finished basement's sewage system, it is extremely worrisome. With Evan and Lifeline's help, that stress has been relieved and we can enjoy our basement!

The plumber, Steve, wad very professional, polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. Steve took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done and what he was doing throughout the repairs. Steve also took great care to make sure he did kept the work area clean and was concious of not dirting any part of the house that he walked through.Steve is one of the best plumbers we have ever worked with. Steve created an atmosphere of trust. We will definitely use Lifeline plumbing again and will refer to others who need plumbing services.

Steve was excellent as usual. He was punctual, quick and professional, and friendly as well. He made time in his day to stop by on only a few hours' notice. He had actually strongly suggested I have this work done when he was there the previous day, but I thought the gas shutoff in the basement under the stove would be sufficient for the appliance installers to use when putting in our new range. However, they refused to touch it, since the shutoff was not above the floor, so I had Steve come back out and install it. It cost me an extra trip charge, unfortunately, but that's my bad.

Steve, our service professional, let us know that his first job was running late, and would be arriving later in the time window, so we appreciated the heads-up. He was very friendly and professional, and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. The work looks like it was done well. Plumbing prices always come with sticker shock, but Steve helped by listing all the services that we will likely need in the future due to the condition of the plumbing system and their cost, so that we could plan for future work if needed. He cleaned everything up before leaving, and ended up staying rather late to finish his work.

I scheduled an appointment on Monday, August 3 and was promised they would be here between the hours of 10:00 and 1:00. I spoke with Jamie who couldn't have been nicer. I had a medical emergency on Monday morning, which necessitated me visiting a doctor, right at the beginning of the 10:00 window. I called the receptionist (Kay) to ask her if leaving for the quick medical appointment would impact my appointment. I needed the plumbing work completed before 10:30 tomorrow morning due to other work being done in my house. She assured me that the plumber would most likely not get to my house until 1:00 anyway. I was away from my house for approximately 45 minutes. I called Lifeline at 11:30 to say I was on my way home and I was told that the plumber was still at the job prior to mine. At 1:15 I was called by Kay and told that the plumber was delayed and I would be the last call of the day. I was unable to wait home until 4:00 in the afternoon. When I expressed my displeasure she became quite rude and impatient. I was called my the head of dispatch shortly after. He apologized and said he would do anything to make it up to me, and would make me the first call. Since I planned my entire day around waiting at home for this appointment, and needed the work done prior to 10:30 tomorrow morning, I asked if he could send someone out first thing tomorrow morning to make up for my inconvenience. He told me that they couldn't do it tomorrow. I am frustrated and very upset that someone who is a new client would be treated in this way. Not only did they not come out as promised, I gave them an opportunity to remedy the situation by sending someone out first thing in the morning, and they would not accommodate that. I will not give this company another opportunity after this experience.

Corey arrived at 9:00 a.m., being scheduled to arrive between 8-9:00 a.m. He did call 35 minutes prior advising "arriving by 8:45, 9:00 a.m. tops." "Tops" it is. Corey was very professional and polite on arrival - which never changes throughout this story - and immediately offered to put booties on his shoes. He did begin to flush the water heater (WH), which drained quite slowly, indicating a good amount of sediment in the bottom of the tank liner. And, this is with flushing about five gallons annually, which apparently, just angered the WH tank gods. (Did not realize that ALL the water in the WH has to be flushed annually in Bartlett, after living with Chicago water for almost 50 years previously. Five gallons annually, in the city, was plenty.) He also pointed out that our WH, which was installed just over four year ago (early 2011), was actually manufactured in 2003. We never noticed the date. Not good - we need a "conversation" with our last installer. Nevertheless, as per request, by me, to Lifeline, at the time of my purchasing the Big Deal (and matching a competitor's coupon), Corey also checked on the condition of the anode rod, which sadly, is on its last leg. After finding two other valves which have future leak issues waiting to happen, and yes, they did leak a bit in front of me, he wrote up estimates for each issue, as well as estimating possible WH replacement options. Finishing with the WH, he then did an inspection of the main water valve, kitchen sink area, laundry room and three bathroom fixtures and toilets. Finding a few more shut off valves that were leaking, and three toilets that we had planned on replacing in the near future, more estimates were written, as well as providing a very good visually walk thru to my elderly father on what exactly was wrong with the under sink pipes. (We knew they needed a retrofit, due to poor installation when we purchased the home) Corey spent over 2 1/2 hours during this inspection - really. The WH flush was tedious due to the sediment build up. He never pressured us hard into the "up sell", though he was more than thorough in offering options at all price levels. He did note that we would get a 20% Angie's List discount from "book value", which if you don't know, is the flat rate - written out in the books they (almost all plumbers) bring with them. Feel free to ask them to show you the price list - they almost always are willing. We are please with how well Corey did in this Big Deal purchase. He provided us with plenty of options and warnings about issues soon to cause us problems. This was not just the general "fear mongering" plenty of other "professionals" like to put forth. Maybe because of my background in rehabs, and being aware of what could go wrong in certain mechanical failures, we feel we were treated well. I get the vibe that Corey played it all pretty straight. I know it could have been much worse, as I'm sure many of you have experienced with certain vendors. There was never a true "doom and gloom" scenario painted for us, though, as per almost all plumbers, I could almost hear a "Wagnerian" melody start to influence the tone of voice - almost - when the "worst case" was described, but that faded quickly. Corey really seemed like a pro who cared about his work, and how the customer perceived him. Good - that's how it should be. We know these $49 deals are loss leaders. They are there to possibly seed info, or, in the hands of less than scrupulous vendors - fear monger, for future work. Nevertheless, if you are informed on what and how mechanical items function and fail in your home, or if you know nothing about home maintenance, I still highly recommend using these deals to get an inspection of your home's plumbing. Finding out too late, about a problem, will be much more expensive than a $49 inspection. If you have doubts about one vendor, buy a competitors deal and get a second opinion, but be informed. We've now used Lifeline Plumbing twice in less than a year. I am fairly certain that we will be calling on Corey, sometime in the near future, to correct some of the items he noted on his inspection.

Very professional, prompt and courteous. Did an excellent job. I purchased job coupons on Angie's list and they did that work for the price quoted. For the other work they quoted a standard price that was very high. I ended up doing it becuase they were there, but they more than made up for any savings I received through the coupon.
Joe Palumbo was extremely courteous, professional, knowledgeable and thorough. Despite being held up at his previous job until 8pm, he was still willing to come out to complete our appointment instead of rescheduling us. We really appreciated his commitment. The serviceman Steve was so professional and understanding by explaining all the steps he would do both before he started and during the repairs should I agree to the pricing proposal. I did not realize that Lifeline charges by the job not the hour but again Steve explained that prior to presenting me the cost. I like that I knew how much the job was going to cost before things got started because Steve made it clear that if a problem popped up and it took him a longer than normal, there wouldn't be any additional charges. This really put me at ease to the point I went about my tasks as the house and didn't have to worry if the plumber was working fast enough to keep the hours down. I felt Steve, the serviceman, kept me abreast of the situation and did a diligent job. I did think the cost was a bit high, but that had nothing to do with the service. There was a flat price for taking out the sink and then another flat price for putting in the new sink. I felt there could have been a combined price since it was just 1 service request.

We initially made an appointment but the day it was scheduled they did not show. When we called the office had no record of the appointment. They did a good job in making up for this. We had the next available appointment which was the same day it was just much later in the day. The price a little high. But the work was excellent. We would definitely use them again.

He called in a co-worker who looked up my square footage via Zillow and did not take an accurate measurement of my home to determine the CORRECT area needing A/C and heating. The units they wanted me to purchase I have never heard of before. I wanted to do some research before committing. The first gentleman was extremely pleasant and personable. The second gentleman was also pleasant but, In my research I did not get the 'expert' advise and approach I read that I should expect. Both men were very nice, pleasant and not al all 'pushy'. I cannot , however, make such a large purchase on the merits of the personalities of the men who came to my home. I am going to get more inspections and options before I commit. This is a large expense and I can not afford to make a purchase that is a wrong fit for my home.
Description of Work: He did a cursory look at my A/C unit and told me that both the A/C and furnace needed to be replaced. He did not investigate the cause of my unit not working. He was unfamiliar with my setup.
