Great. Came out next day. Called before arriving. Clearly discussed our options (install this, install that, fix this & that, etc) and prices for each. He knew by looking, the faucet we had picked wouldn't fit. Helped select another, got it and installed all that afternoon.

Woke up early this morning to find my pressure relief valve draining like a faucet, using Angie's list I came across Lifeline. I filled out the contact form and shortly thereafter received a call from Tyler. From the get-go Tyler was professional and courteous. I was given a window for a same day visit and Tyler was actually five minutes early. Upon his review he provided me with a synopsis of the failure on the existing water heater, and provided several scenarios for a replacement. Tyler made sure to carefully lay down protective floor coverings and maneuvered the new heater carefully through cramped quarters. The replacement took 2 1/2 hours from handshake to handshake. I take serious consideration when selecting servicemen (ie. mechanics, hvac, plumbing), and now feel I have added a top notch plumbing business into my service portfolio. I would and will recommend Lifeline going forward. Lifeline is definitely deserving of their Angie's List rating. I felt so satisfied with the entire effort I left Tyler with my contact information should he need to use me as a referral on any prospective job going forward. Much thanks to both Lifeline, and Angie's for their services.

I called Lifeline in the afternoon and the lady that answered was very friendly. She asked me to describe the issue, stated a technician would be out between 4-7pm. Tyler called me around 6:30pm to let me know he might be a few minutes late because of another job he was finishing up. He said he wanted to make sure the time would still work for me.Tyler showed up and was very friendly, professional, and had installed a new ptrap, sewer cleanout, and tightened all drains in about 30 minutes. I had received a quote from another company and Lifeline's price was far less than the other.I highly recommend Lifeline to anyone that wants great work done by professionals that don't overcharge for their work or for weekends.

These guys are great, they answered the phone (a real person), showed up when they were supposed to (on time), and did what they were supposed to do for the amount of money they said they would (no extras). Strange and unusual behavior for a service contractor. They are service with a capital "S" and have set the industry back fifty years - which is a good thing.

After looking on Angie's List for a good plumber and also one that was local, I called Lifeline Plumbing Wednesday afternoon. Yes, they could do want I needed and could have someone there the next morning. Very nice. Mike arrived and promptly looked at what I wanted done. He gave me a written estimate that I felt was fair. I feel he did a terrific job. Not only was he very professional, but he was very personable. He replaced the cartridge in the shower and got that working again. And then he worked on the toilet while I looked on. I had been trying to work on the toilet myself with my handy DIY book. He explained everything that he did. Nice. I was very happy with the work, and I now feel that I have a new plumber.
Description of Work: Mike rebuilt the shower faucet in the master bath because I was not getting hot water. I also had the "innards" of another toilet replaced because of a faulty fill tube.

During the entire process plumbers Michael and Eric remained up beat and professional despite any challenges. The job was completed in a very respectable time frame, inspected with approval by a city inspector and the job site was cleaned up and put back in place in a satisfactory manner. Since this job, I have already referred Lifeline to 3 people.
Description of Work: Lifeline dug an approximate 5' by 3' area and about 5' down into the ground in order to replace a cracked 4" sewer pipe that connected to the main sewer line. The dig was by hand in order to preserve as much landscaping as possible which that care was very much appreciated. While digging Lifeline discovered the area was filled with mostly 2"-3" rocks pretty much the entire way down to the cracked pipe. It was discovered what cracked the pipe was a very large rock that may have been a bit of a struggle to pull out manually.

I can't say enough about the quality job that Mike did from start to finish. I had a leak around the base of my water heater. I called around to several companies to get price quotes for replacement. Lifeline was mid-range, in the cheaper half of the different quotes, but what sold me on Lifeline were two things: 1) Reading all of the positive Angie's List reviews 2) The fact that when the operator told me she'd pass my details along to the tech, Mike not only called and left a message, but he actually followed up on the message a few minutes later to make sure I got his voicemail. Plus, it was only $19 for the service call to diagnose and look at the problem. By the way, I called at 7:30 PM and Mike stopped by less than two hours later. He was friendly, courteous and beyond professional. He was very honest on what needed replacing, what I could let slide, and pointed out some things to watch out for. He instantly made me feel at ease with the work he was doing. Installation took about 2.5 hours from start to finish, and that's with a very clogged water heater that took a long time to drain. After the install was complete, he showed me a few other things to watch out for. I'm a first time homeowner and really not as well educated as I should be on things around the house. Mike was very nice in explaining a few things and I never felt like I was being talked down to or sold on something I didn't need. I wish there was an A+ rating- if so Mike and Lifeline would have earned it on just about everything. I gave a B on price, just because it wasn't in the bottom fourth of prices I was quoted- but you know what? That's more than ok. There's always a balance between price and quality and it may seem outrageous to some to pay a little more for service. You want to pay $100 less at a hardware store, then go ahead. You'll get a subcontracted company with techs that are looking to get in and get out as quickly as possible. And when the unit breaks down or you need to exchange the unit under warranty, have fun dialing a call center. The fact is you get what you pay for- and with Mike and Lifeline Plumbing you pay for a quality job with people that are honest, trustworthy, and professional. Well worth the cost.

With the 20% Angies List coupon they came in at the lowest of the estimates, had great reviews on Angies List and my 2nd grade daughter (who was there during the estimates) said Tyler was the nicest... we made the appointment for the work to be done. After rerouting the vent pipe into the attic and removing the old tub, they unboxed the new one and found a dent and gouge that I hadn't seen. They suggested that I call the place that I bought it from and get it exchanged. I did and a week later they were back out installing the new tub. They were extremely friendly, would answer any questions I had and were very concerned about doing quality work. I would definitely use them again.

He came out and just recommended something that could be done. It was like I could have called them and he didn’t do too much. He was a nice person. I don’t know what he recommended was right or no but I would go for a second opinion. He didn’t actually do anything to the sump pump and he just looked at it. So according to me it was something like a marketing stuff and he shouldn’t have charged for it.

I contacted LIFELINE PLUMBING and was greeted by an exceptional representative. We were off to a good start plus I did not need an emergent service call. We scheduled a time frame for the following Monday. He was punctual, friendly and courteous. Put covers over his shoes and looked at the problem and seemed to know immediately what the issue was. I was uncomfortable by the continuous sales pitch/mission this service person was taking, looking around for other ways to make money while he was on this call! Even to the point of offering to sell me a special toilet replacement, because I was going to have a knee replacement surgery soon!
Description of Work: I looked up plumbers very carefully on Angie's List because the reliable handyman I once had, retired due to illness. I realize how expensive plumbers are! As I looked over reports, Lifeline seemed the better to others I read. The cost to have them enter my door was very reasonable. I had described the problem to several experts and was told what the issue was. It was the usual problem of a base ring at the bottom of the toilet rotting and needing to be replaced. So I had a good idea of what it should cost. Running up a bill like this, does not inspire trust from this particular senior citizen.I

This is an extremely professional group, at least from my experience with the company customer service rep was was pleasant and prompt in scheduling my appointment and my service tech who was very skilled, fast and willing to answer all of my problems. I will go with this company again for my plumbing needs as I think the $ spent was well worth the service.
Description of Work: I live in Sleepy Hollow, IL and I'm on well water. I lost all water pressure the morning of 6/12, called the tech and was able to get an appointment the same day. Tyler came out and discovered the problem was a faulty pressure switch on my tank under my crawl space. He replaced it quickly and everything worked. Took approximately 1.5 hours to diagnose and fix the problem.

Tyler responded to my call quickly and gave me a competitive price. He was at my home within 2 hours of calling which was quite impressive. He removed, installed and disposed of my old water heater in very quick order. He was professional and courteous - most of all it was clear he knew what he was doing. He was ethical - an example of this is I asked him to give me a quote for an outside faucet that linked. He looked at it - tightened it up and said "that's all it needed" and didn't charge me. He could have manufactured work for himself or pretended it was a bigger issue - but he didn't - a rare trait these days! I won't hesitate to call him in the future if I have a plumbing need.

The pilot light kept going out intermittently for no apparent reason and there was no diagnosis code to indicate the cause of the problem. I called Whirlpool and followed their every direction (clean and check air vent) to no avail so I turned to a professional. The technician (Tyler) showed up and was a consummate professional from the moment he greeted me at the door and even thanked me for choosing them to take care of my problem. Tyler decided that the best route was to clean out the unit which he did with precision. The technician noted that my expansion tank was not functioning properly and was in need of replacement.for $225. In retrospect I should have done a better job at pricing this out more competitively. Unfortunately, the cleaning did not fix the problem so it was back to the drawing board which meant calling Whirlpool once again which Tyler took the initiative to do himself. After talking with them it was determined that they were going to need to send a new gas valve which would not be here until Monday afternoon and it was now Friday evening. I told him we had guests coming for the weekend and asked if there was anywhere else to get the part. Tyler tried to see if there was any other way to get the part sooner, but was unable to do so. He gets an A for effort. I was then informed that they would have to return on Monday to install the gas valve and I would have to pay another $195 service charge.. $400 dollars to get a water heater cleaned seems a little pricey but at this point I really did not feel I had any other reasonable option. The part arrived on Monday afternoon and Lifeline promptly called me to arrange a tech (Mike) to come to replace the part. 25 minutes and $195 later the tech completed the job of replacing the gas valve and the unit was back in operation. If its great friendly service you want with knowledgeable technicians I would say Lifeline did well on both those accounts. They were very upfront about the costs but I felt it was excessive to be charged $195 for the second visit that lasted 25 minutes. Keep in mind these are Angie's List discounted prices. I was left disappointed that they were not willing to consider pricing the second call at a rate more in line with the effort involved. UPDATE -- Came home from work to the lovely smell of rotten eggs.. Nicor just left my house because the hose from the gas valve they replaced was not properly tightened and the gas was leaking. I did not call them back to fix their own problem because it would have surely been another $195. Again, really nice people, but I rate based on the risk of my safety

Description of Work: He came out and did some water heater service. They found out that it hadn't been serviced since the previous owners put it in. They have been very good. The follow ups have been great. They have done a walk through and have invited me to watch what they do. They aren't trying to upsell anything. They lock in a price upfront and you either do it or you don't. The pricing seems very fair and they stick to it, even if something takes longer or more effort than anticipated. They are a 24 hour service as well so they were able to be here during evenings with no extra charge which has worked out for my schedule.

Technician arrived withih the advertised window. He was both friendly and professional and took the time to explain how my system was configured and what my options were. He gave me options and information on a variety of pumps and backup systems. When I chose the specific model I wanted for the sump pumps, he only had one available on his truck. He made a call back to the office and the other pump was delivered within 30 minutes. He showed me everything he was doing and why. He completely cleaned up the work area and removed all trash, including a brick he had removed from the sump pit that was no longer required. He then sat down with me and completely went over the invoice. He was able to process my charge card over his smartphone and I signed electronically.
Description of Work: Bought the Angie's List Big Deal - $49 Sump Pump Inspection & Battery Back-up Maintenance Package. When the technicial arrived, I also requested a quote on a battery back-up sump pump system. Technician inspected and tested both sump pumps; one for foundation drainage and the other for basement waste water ejection into overhead septic system. One sump pump failed both pumping and amperage test, the other was marginal. Had technicial replace both sump pumps with two new heavy duty models. Also installed two new check valves; one was missing and the other was stuck open. Inspected and tested new installations. Also had rusted waste pit cover replaced with new plastic lid. Technician sealed lid. Since the technician was already there, requested that he power rod the laundry drain to relieve blockage.

Tyler, who is the owner of the company is absolutely professional and so cost conscience for the customer. He gave me estimates and cost options on everything and the estimates always agreed with that I did end up doing. I was so impressed with him that I told him he would be my plumber for life. He is knowledgeable and is very personal about his work with you. He is extremely sensitive to a customer's needs and concerns and does not give you the run around if you have a lot of questions for him. When you don't have the knowledge he doesn't play the "male macho game" he treated me like any customer, and I am sure every customer was treated like I was. He definitely has his professional act together! Part of the amount that I paid included a water test that Tyler took samples of my well water and sent it to a certified water lab, and in a week he and I both got copies of my water analysis and we got to see exactly what the problems were with my water. He personally contacted the manufacturer that would help in cleaning up my water, and just called me yesterday to go over how to fix this. He took the extra steps in dealing with these issues for me. When you set an appointment with him he calls you to confirm on the day of and makes sure that you're aware he is coming at a specific time. If anything comes up that he may be late he calls you up and lets you know this as well. Tyler is really really good at what he does!
Description of Work: He installed a new sump pump and check valve, new ejector pump and check valve, a new kitchen faucet, a new handheld shower, and two new laboratory faucets. He also supplied the parts.
