I think they were actually here at the house in October of 2013. The approximate cost of the services I think around $1000. They ended up actually doing bunch of different things. They were plumbing work done and there was also HVAC work done. I love them as well. We called them out in an emergency service most probably in a year and they came out they took care of us that night and kinda look over what we needed to do and that’s why we had them continued to come back and fixed things slowly so don’t have emergency issues again. They have been great with over and beyond. They have been totally honest. They show me everything that happened and what they needed to change and when they change it they went over with me again so that I saw what they change and they are very reasonable so. The guy that we work with is Mike. I just know Mike I don’t have a last name or anything but he has been really great for us.

The technician performed a very comprehensive review of our plumbing system, checking all fixtures, valves and connections. He spent a lot of time explaining the issues to myself and my wife. He found only minor issues and didn't try to do a sell-job on getting them resolved. The service was well worth the $49. HOWEVER, part of the service was supposed to be a Water-Heater Flush. Because he spent so much time on everything else, he NEVER got around to doing the flush. He also stated that it would be risky to do the flush since merely opening the drain valve on the water heater would risk damaging it and require repairs. This confused me since why would you advertise the service like this and they try to talk us out of doing it after we paid for it. He also checked our sump pumps and that is also why I gave a "B". He told us our main and back-up pumps were shot and not working. This made sense as they are 10-years old. He also checked our battery back-up system and said it wasn't working, though he did caveat that statement by saying he wasn't a "computer guy" and couldn't say for sure what the issue was. This is a $2k SUMPRO system that I was told was the Cadillac of back-up systems. After telling me all of this he provided pricing from his office for 3-levels of replacements for each system (main and back-up). I was told later that the systems being proposed were great quality (Storm Pro) so I was happy they were using quality parts. However I saw this as a typical sell-job trying to get me to settle on the middle level. The pricing was not transparent at all. They could not tell me how much the parts and labor cost and only gave me all-in prices. He was very concerned leaving me with sump pumps that weren't working and didn't want my basement to flood, which I am appreciative of, but I assume the pumps hadn't been working for a while and we didn't get any water following extreme rain storms last fall and 20" of melted snow. So I held off. I called another company that specializes in sump pumps for a second opinion. That technician immediately found that the switches that tell the pumps to turn on were not working properly and that the pumps themselves were working. New switches would cost 40% of a whole new pump so I had him replace the pumps too due to age. Second, he said the back-up system was indeed operating correctly and had no issues other than the batteries could be replaced. But that there was NO need to replace it and would have been a HUGE waste of money to do so. By using the other company I saved 50% and didn't replace a back-up system that was perfectly good with a lower tiered system. All-in-all, I feel the technician meant well, but should not be providing feedback on sump pumps as he is clearly NOT an expert and nearly cost me and extra $1500.

Tim showed up on time. Came in, asked what I wanted done and said that's no problem. He did the work in just a few minutes and told me.. I can't really charge you for this. I was blown away!! A plumber, on a Saturday, who did as i asked, and didn't charge? who does that? I asked for a guesstimate for some other work which he gave me and I will have him do it. I will recommend Lifeline Plumbing to anyone who asks and to thise who don't ask.

After looking at Angieslist.com for a plumber to help with a blocked 'cleanout' pipe, my husband called Lifeline Plumbing. It was 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon when my husband called Lifeline. Another plumbing company had just left without being able to clear out the pipe. The other company only had the capability of rodding up to 100' so when my husband called Lifeline he asked the very pleasant young lady, Jamie, if Lifeline was capable of rodding further than 100'. Jamie wasn't entirely sure so she told my husband that she would find out and call my husband back. A few moments later my husband received a call from Sam D'Amato. Sam informed my husband that he could indeed rod out a line longer than 100'. Sam told my husband that it would be $395.00 to rod out the line plus $150.00 to add an extra segment to the snake. My husband also asked if LIfeline could replace the sewer line (house to street) if that worse case scenario came to pass. Sam again confirmed that Lifeline could do so if necessary. My husband asked Sam if he could still come out that very afternoon/evening. Sam informed my husband that he was at another job and that Jamie would give him a call with an approximate arrival time. Sam hung up. Less than a minute later, Jamie called and told my husband that she would call my husband when Sam was on his way. A short time later Jamie called and said that Sam would arrive at about 6:45 pm. Sam arrived precisely on time with another gentleman. They looked at the 'cleanout pipe' and immediately got to work. The two men worked to attach the extra length to the snake. Then they used a 3 1/2" cutter to move the snake through the sewer line. They were sure that the cutter had made it to the main because they lifted the manhole cover and could hear the cutter moving around in the sewer. They pulled the cutter back out through the 'cleanout pipe' but unfortunately the pipe did not drain. They repeated the process with a 4" cutter with the same result. They repeated the process with a 5" cutter and asked my husband to turn on all the cold water faucets inside the house. The Lifeline men were able to move enough root material and sludge to finally open the pipe -all the water drained. Sam explained that the situation would probably occur again. He diagnosed the problem as a 'sludge line'. He said that there are so many small roots and those roots catch all the toilet paper creating thick muck. They were able to clear enough of this muck to temporarily open the sewer line but he recommended additional action from my husband and I. Sam recommended that 'down the road' (sometime this summer) my husband and I either 1) have the sewer line jetted (approx cost $1100) every year or so OR have the entire line replaced ($10,000-$15,000). Sam told my husband that he couldn't warrantyy his work because he really felt that he only temporarily solved the issue. The two gentleman from Lifeline worked for more than 2 1/2 hours. They didn't give up until they were successful. Afterwards, Sam went into great detail about what causes a sludge line and what my husband and I can do to permanently resolve the solution. Sam and company cleaned up their equipment and provided my husband with a DETAILED bill for the work that they performed. The bill was for $545.00 minus a coupon that I printed off Angieslist.com for $109.00. The final total came to $436.00. Even if the coupon had not been available, $545.00 for 2 1/2 hours HARD work seems extremely reasonable! Although my husband and I are not entirely thrilled that the 100 plus year old sewer line from our home to the street will need further attention he and I are thoroughly pleased with the work done by Sam D'Amato and his co-worker. They were prompt, professional, knowledgeable, respectful and patient with all of the questions put to them.

I called Lifeline Plumbing to provide a Sump Pump Inspection and Battery Back-Up Maintenance offer that I saw on Angie?s List. Both my sump pump and back-up were approximately 20 years old and I was worried about them breaking in the middle of a storm or power outage. The serviceman, Evan, arrived on the agreed day at the agreed time. He was a very thorough worker and explained and showed me the things that were a problem. Because of the age of the equipment, I decided to buy a new sump pump and back up and also an ejector pump. Again, Evan explained the different types of equipment they offered, what would be best for my circumstances and step-by-step what he was going to do. I bought a heavy duty sump pump, heavy duty battery backup for the sump pump and a heavy duty ejector system. All equipment was installed that day. Evan was a very diligent and conscientious worker taking care to keep the area neat and have everything cleaned up before he left. I was extremely satisfied with the work done by Lifeline Plumbing!

When Jared (sorry about the spelling) initially came out, a few weeks before the service was performed, I explained the situation and after he texted the sump pump, I decided it was time for a replacement. Learning the floater was malfunctioning and could not be replaced, I took his advice and chose a pump with one that could, which would save me money in a long run. Although I did not have time for the service to be performed that day, he deducted the Angie's List deal amount from the total bill when he came out to install the new pump. Class act. Thank you Angie's List because I know who to call for any future plumbing service, Lifeline Plumbing. Thank you for a job well done, Jared. Ciao!

Lifeline Plumbing, through it representative Keith D., did a great job for me. Keith was able to replace my hot water heater immediately as he had new ones in his truck, while I had thought it would be a two day process. He worked almost four hours on a late Saturday afternoon, which caused him to have to cancel his plans for the evening. He was pleasant and professional throughout the appointment, and cleaned my utility room floor when he was finished. Also, I was having trouble with the locking mechanism on my front door, and he took the time to fix it. I highly recommend Lifeline Plumbing.

Once we realized we paid too much for installation, we called to report our displeasure. The man in charge felt the price was fair and did not care what we thought until we mentioned we got his name from Angie's list. Then he said, once the check clears, he would return $200. If it doesn't arrive after a week, call us back. So far, no refund. Since he was recommended by AL, I put more trust in their service than I normally do for people who do repair work in my house. That was a mistake. I figured he would be honest and give a fair price. I believed he used AL reputation to cheat us trusting people out of their money. I learned that just because someone's on AL, it doesn't mean they're honest. Be wary, question, and ask for a breakdown of the bill.
Description of Work: I purchased the $49 maintenance check from Angie's List. Sam replaced the sump pump. The sump pump was not always turning off once the water was pumped out. It was only a year old. Sam said the pump was faulty and that I should get high quality one that has built-in ion sensor that doesn't rely on a float to turn on and off. The 3/4 hp pump which I chose cost me $1310 including installation and a 5 year warranty on the pump and 2 years on the installation. The price seemed very high at the time, but I decided for that one. Someone on Angie list would not take advantage, right? He did not give me a break down of the product and service which, looking back, was a big mistake on my part. It took him less than a half hour to install the pump. H came at nine am and left at ten. Right after he left, I looked up the cost of the pump at various internet sites. The most this pump cost was $700. He charged $1310 including installation. That means he charged me $610 more . I could understand $100 or even $150. He overcharged me $400 to $500. Is that how Lifeline Plumbing treats Angie's list people?

We'd moved back into our house after renting it out for a year and were horrified to see a leak in the cabinet under the kitchen sink. It looked like the leak had rotted out the wood or something. We wanted it fixed right away and so reached out to Lifeline Plumbing on a Saturday morning. They were able to get me an appointment that same evening between 4 - 7. The technician arrived by 4:00, examined the problem and gave us 3 options priced at $300+, 758, 1130. He explained the options multiple times. We chose option 2. He worked on it for about 1.5 hours and cleaned up afterwards. In all, Lifeline's work is always top notch (I've used them 3 times now), but they are, in my opinion, very pricey. I hadn't really got quotes from others, so it's just a feeling I suppose.

While Tim was professional, the machine needed to do the job was very heavy and bulky. I had to move multiple items from my basement to allow for the machine. I had not been informed of this when I booked the appointment. Because of the weight of the machine, it dug into my newly replaced basement stairs causing gouges in several of the stairs on the edges. It was not noticed until after he left my house or I would have pointed it out to him at the time. Tim did place dropcloths down on my wood floors in the hallway between the front door and the door to the basement where he needed to take the rodding machine. Although the power rodder came back without any debris, Tim wanted to see with the camera as he said he felt a couple of glitches. After several attempts to get his "boss" on the phone to make a better price on the $199.00 for the camera to be brought in, they were going to give me a deal of having the camera at $152.00. Unbeknownst to Tim I had checked their website before he arrived and their website had a coupon good for $79.00. Also they had a $40.00 off coupon along with a special of $79.00 for rodding (I thought the deal with Angies List was supposed to be just that a "deal"). I feel like they were trying to get more money out of me by selling me additional services and had left me with stairs that had been damaged. What does Angies List do to help recoup damages caused by their recommended companies?

At first, the men seemed very nice, but quoted us $715.00 to replace the sump pump. This included the sump pump, the switch on the sump pump, cleaning products and labor. My brother, who is also a plumber, but who lives far away from us, called me when the guys were leaving and told us that they ripped us off. My husband and I googled the sump pump they put in and it said it cost about $150. Switches come with the pumps, so there should be no extra charge for that, which means we were changed about $565 for one hour of labor and some cleaning product, which is crazy! We promptly called our bank and put a stop on the check we gave them and called them to tell them we did so. After a couple of days, a manager called us and told us that that was a fair price and reduced the price to $590 only because there was an Angies List discount we were supposed to have been given, but weren't (again this itself was very frustrating to hear). We felt this was too much as well, but didn't feel like arguing with them anymore, so paid it. We will NEVER use them again and will let others know the same.

Worked with Angie concierge service. First appoint was not convenient for me so asked Angie to change it. Lifeline or Angie was not able to get word to person coming out and they wasted their time. Arranged through Lifeline directly to have a Saturday appointment. They gave me a four hour window. After four hours called to see what happened. Seems one department did not talk to another and never told anyone about my scheduled appointment. However, since I decided to stick around for another hour (on my day off and nice and sunny after long winter) I waited for another person to come and give me a quote. Quote ended a little high, especially since they did not have anything on their quote sheet about installing a whole house filter. This seems weird because when Angie contacted them the criteria I set for the job was installing a "Whole House Filter" and water softner. Why would a company agree to giving a quote if they do not have the this as an option to quote to a potential customer.

My experience was very well. They were very good. The person was very thorough and very competent. He took time to explain and I am very happy. Update: Lifeline called back after our initial review and apologized for the no show. Apparently there was a problem a mix up with the scheduling. To make up for it, they agreed to come out the next day at no cost to rod the tub and diagnose the toilet issue. They showed us that they are serious about taking care of customer complaints and making the wrongs right. We would use them again in the future Original Post: We use them one time and they were ok. We decided to use them again. We set the appointment today 3/24/14 between 10 AM to 1 PM. Never showed up and no call either. We were so upset that we wasted 3 hours of our time for a company who's suppose to have an A rating here in angie's list.

I bought a plumbing inspection deal. Tech came in on time and he is very polite. He mentioned the sump pump is about to die and recommended to replace the sump pump. He gave me 3 options for different capacities. Without getting another quote from a different provider, I chose one of the options provided. Few days later I noticed, Angies list has sump pump deals for half the cost offering a reputable brand. I feel what he charged me was very high. He did install it within 30 min and did a good job. Same case with a tub leak. He replaced the tub drain to stop a minor leak and it was approx $300, which is too high. He did another minor job and charged approx $250, which I think is very high too given the above two cases. He did a good job on all three. Given their high prices beyond a fair price, I will never use this company in future.
