Lifeline Plumbing Heating & Cooling

This was an Angie's List special offer. The Lifeline service rep, Tim, was on time, gave the pumps and battery backup a thorough inspection and also inspected my water heater. It was $49 well spent.

It went well, the serviceman was punctual and courteous.

Early this morning we discovered our new furnace was not working and called Lifeline's 24/7 service. We got a call back from Chris, who came over as soon as he could to help us out. He worked in both the cold outside and in our small crawl space with a wonderful demeanor and a reassurance that he was going to fix our heat no matter what. Apparently the problem was a rare occurrence, but he stuck with it and stayed with us until he figured it out and he was sure it was working. He was pleasant, courteous, funny and a wealth of knowledge, just the kind of person you'd like to spend time with even if he weren't repairing something in your home. Kudos to Lifeline for hiring such a conscientious employee.

Excellent Service!! Weekend emergency as we could not get the shower to shut off. Office staff (Abby) was polite, professional and very helpful. The Service Man, (Lenny) called as he left a previous job and was here when he'd estimated. He did efficient, excellent work. This company has done work for my brother and they have always been top notch. A good choice for service.

Lifeline plumbing & Heating/Cooling is very professional and responsive. It was easy to get an appointment in a timely manner. The technician (Brian) arrived early.. within the time frame of the appointment block. He was very thorough... checked the furnace and apprised me of the repair needed with a complete explanation.

No repair done at original visit, just adjusted placement of worn out gasket. Was told unique part, did not replace worn out gasket. Original problem reoccurred, they returned and replaced said gasket - wanted additional funds.

Mike D was out and replaced our old outside faucet that had started leaking in the handle area. It was original to the house. As always, he was professional, prompt and did a great job.

As always, Mike D did a fantastic job. I always know the job will be done right. He gives us options and we choose the best one for our situation. He was out 3 seperate times within a month's time to get everything done that we needed. Knowing that our sewer line is now clean and we don't have to worry about it gives us peace of mind. We enjoy our water now too with the reverse osmosis in the kitchen and the whole house carbon filter. Thanks Lifeline and thanks Mike D!

Mike D was out and got our sinks flowing again. He had to open the traps and clean the drain out but you'd never even know he was there, he cleaned up so well. We had him rod the shower drain too since he was there. He did a great job.

I purchased the $39 furnace and water heater tuneup deal. First of all, the company did not contact me for about a week after purchasing. After I reached out, they were able to schedule the appointment. It was scheduled for 10AM-1PM on a Thursday and I took the day off work for this. At 12:30PM, I was getting concerned and called Lifeline. They said that there were emergency calls and that their technician was delayed, but they would still be there. Nobody ever showed up. I called at about 5:05 and they had all gone home and I was redirected to an answering service. They never even called me the next day. This is a borderline scam as due to the holidays and their delayed response, it was very difficult to schedule within the 30 day money back guarantee window. Lifeline told me to contact Angie's List for a refund, but they will not comply as it is outside the window. As a result, they have my money and I have no interest in working with a company that has such poor communication and completely wasted my time.

Hired the company to do some plumbing works a year ago and was very happy with the results. So called the company again to perform the furnace maintenance recently. Unfortunately they cancelled twice because of urgent service call volumes they had to deal with during this cold weather. Brian was finally assigned by the office after two cancellations, and he was right on time to show up at the door. He was polite, very patient and EXTREMELY THOROUGH with his work. I would have to be honest that I would NOT have rated this service A (for the cancellations) if it were not because of Brian. I will hire this company again next year, maybe I shall call in September / October instead of December, per Brian's recommendation; but I will definitely ask for Brian again for the service.

Good. Described to me the issue I was hearing and gave me quotes on replacement. Will call them back when we are able to move forward.

Company had to reschedule and then showed up at the very end (5 minutes) of the time window. It was frustrating.

We have used Lifeline for 2 issues and have had polar opposite experiences. My first experience with a plumber was amazing and is the reason that I called them back for service on my furnace. The overall experience for my furnace has been terrible. Last week we had issues with our furnace cycling on during the night. Called into lifeline and explained that our furnace is working, but having issues staying on - they mentioned likely just needed a cleaning and that they had a coupon on Angies List to have it cleaned for $39. The service repairman came on site and explained that he was not able to do the cleaning maintenance that I had ordered on the phone, (which was a $39 special offer they have on Angie's list) but was only able to make service calls since they were so busy. He spent 5 min and cleaned the flame sensor - he said that was the only issue. He then told me it would be a $79 charge and $39 cleaning fee. I asked why it would be that when what I had ordered was the $39 cleaning fee for the whole furnace he explained that was what he had to charge. I asked him if he had also checked the drain plug since I had an issue on my other furnace a year ago - he then decided to clean that as well. End of the day, charged $118 for 15 min worth of work. I actually would not be upset with that, if that had fixed the issue. The following night we had the same issue! Called back in at 8AM the following day and had to leave a message with an answering service - they said they would get my info over and would call me back shortly. At 1PM still no call - called back spoke with a lady. She asked me if they had installed the furnace which i explained them they had not - she then said it would be $200 to get a repairman back to fix the furnace since it was not under warranty. (If they only service equipment they install, they should have said that the day before when they sent out a service repairman.) I explained that there should be no charge since the person did not fix the issue the first time - she then said she would have to check with a manager and would call me back. We are now 2 days later and still no call back. Lifeline did not honor the coupon they had listed on their site, they did not fix the issue and what's worse they still not have returned my call. I now have to go to a different provider to get my furnace fixed. I would not recommend Lifeline for any HVAC service based on the quality of service!

The plumber checked multiple things on my old plumbing line to identify the problem, and gave me several options for treatment. He completed the work in the same visit, and cleaned up after himself. He also gave me suggestions for future maintenance.

On time, friendly and professional.

In November 2017 I used an Angie's List Deal offered by Lifeline for what turned out to be a minor plumbing problem with my toilet. Mike explained what had happened and quickly fixed the problem. He also spent time offering me accessibility information that could be helpful for my mother, as well as some bathroom remodeling possibilities for me. I also had the furnace checked by Lifeline. I am also calling them for an AC check up. Both service providers were friendly, professional and thorough.

MY SISTER WAS AT MY HOUSE WHEN THE SERVICE PERSON ARRIVED. SHE SAID HE WAS GREAT AND TO GIVE HIM A EXCELLENT RATING.

They were punctual, knowledgeable and professional.

Travis was prompt, pleasant and professional. I had purchased a voucher. Work was done exactly as promised with no additional charge. I'm glad I didn't give up after initial difficulty in contacting Lifeline to schedule appointment. I will write that off to a very busy time and will definitely use this business again.

Lifeline was able to send someone out the same day and he was able to figure out the problem and fix it. It was something with the Nest thermostates we have, we have had them for a few years, but something went wrong with one of them, thanksfull he was able to figure that out and fix it. We were very happy they could come out that same day and happy to have heat again!

Everything went as I would expect and the price was great.

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION** I had this company install a water heater. They gave me a quote for the total. When he was returning with the water heater I asked for a breakdown on how much for parts and labor. I had to almost threaten to cancel the job before he said he would call me back with the information. Finally, when he gave me the info, he said, “We don’t normally give this information.” In accordance to Illinois law they have to give you information on parts and labor separate. That is not an option. This company is not complying with Illinois Law and should not be on Angie’s List. On a side note… The work was done well, but even with my so called “Angie’s List member discount” it was still extremely over priced for the labor. I will not be doing business with this company again. To all members: if any contractor you plan to work with will not give you a quote with parts and labor separately contact the Illinois Attorney General Office and make a complaint.
