"We are sorry for the miscommunication with Carmen. However, we were concerned for you and your family when it was discovered that the bathroom ceiling drywall was blackened. We are not certified to re-mediate these types of issues. We only recommended to have the blackened drywall evaluated and cleaned up. We never stated that you needed gut your entire bathroom. We are sorry to lose you as a customer."

I had a gas leak at my mother's house in the basement near the furnace. The gas company came to shut off the gas as is protocol. I called and scheduled an appointment with Robert Bair Plumbing because their sticker was on (ironically) the pipe that was leaking. They said that a plumber would be out between 4-8pm that evening. At 8pm, I called to find out where he was only to hear that I should "call the office" in the morning to schedule service for the following day because they were "just too busy."
The scheduled low temperature for the evening was 1 degree! I mentioned that this was an emergency as the pipes would surely freeze (older house). I asked for her to call someone to use some common sense and the response was "I'm just the answering service."
I called another plumber and he drove from his home (45 minutes away) at 8:30pm and fixed it, in the cold. What makes it
worse is that Robert Bair had installed the furnace and some new gas piping fairly recently. The guy who fixed it couldn't believe the way they installed the piping (no way to make a repair without cutting pipes and re-inserting new unions). Apparently, the poor installation was the culprit and had caused the leak in the first place.
I've used Robert Bair on my house in the past and always found them to be average in terms of service, responsiveness and professionalism (quite expensive too). Last night has convinced me to delete them from my contact list.

1"We take these reviews very seriously. We have reached out to the customer by phone and are working toward a resolution regarding this misunderstanding. We do feel that it is important to clarify and address some of the alleged wrongdoings. It was not mentioned in the review that the customerās mother does not live in this home, and it is vacant. Our technician did arrive the residence between the agreed upon time frame, he knocked on all doors, but no one answered. When the technician received no response he contacted our dispatch for instructions; our dispatch had the technician wait while we tried to contact the customer by phone. We were not able to reach the customer, but did leave a voice-mail. We had the technician wait at the residence for 15 minutes in hopes that the customer would call back. We did not hear back from the customer and our technician was instructed to go to his next job. We admit fault in the miscommunication between our dispatch and the customer, and sincerely apologize. It is our protocol to contact all customers 20-30 minutes before the technician is dispatched. We called the customerās home line instead of the cell number so the customer did not have the notice he needed to arrive at the vacant residence, and was unable to be made aware that we were on site. Once again we are very sorry. We have addressed the inappropriate and unacceptable response that the customer received from our outsourced answering service. We have not installed a furnace at this residence. Our records indicate that this residence has an existing boiler. Our service records show that we have made some minor repairs to the boiler, but we have not performed any installs or major repairs that would include a re-pipe of any of the original configurations on your boiler. It is our policy to provide equipment stickers and major valve tags for customers ease in an emergency, which is the reason that our safety tag could be found so readily on your gas valve. It is our intention to continue to work toward resolution with this customer and hope that he chooses to remain a part of the Robert Bair Plumbing, Heating & Air Family."
