Excellent work quality and timely service. Some items were a little pricey but I should have expected that with the type or car I have.

I went back to Mobile Electronics to finish my system installation that I started last year.  As noted in my previous review, I had some misunderstandings and also learned some lessons in auto stereo installation.  The guys here do excellent work and I am very happy after this recent installation.  For this review I added the rear speakers and planned to upgrade the subwoofer. 

I dropped in Saturday morning and looked at my options.  Received answers to my questions and discussed my options.  Luis took his time explaining what he could do and also explaining what was unknown (that being the room available for the subwoofer).  He would not be able to see that until he removed the rear seat of my Honda Ridgeline.  That is where the factory Sub woofer is located.  My goal was to upgrade the sub in the same location.

They tried to install a self-powered sub but ran into space problems.  The solution was to swap the amp for a 5-channel and located a slim profile sub.  Since they did not have a sub that would fit they proceeded with the rear door speakers and amp.  To make things even better - they gave me FULL credit on the 4-channel amp they installed last year.  They understood the confusion I had before and agreed that the 5-channel would have been the better choice last year and they granted me the full credit.  I was very happy to hear that. 

After installing he new amp and rear speakers Luis balanced and tested the system.  He connected the existing sub to the amp and asked me to take a listen.  After listening and discussing I decided to leave out the sub upgrade for now.  The fact that Luis took the time to offer me the option to NOT spend more money on the upgrade was very refreshing. This was all done on the SAME day.  I will still probably get the sub upgrade and I will definitely go back to Mobile Electronics when I do.  They will not be the cheapest but they are definitely one of the best. 

I went in on Friday morning to see what  they had and they helped with the selection and kept the car over the weekend.  It was all done on Monday afternoon.  Excellent work and professional service.  A couple of minor errors in the realm of feedback for future improvements.
 
1) When I decided to not put the speakers and subwoofer in the back due to a limit in expendable cash, they switched the amp from a 5-way to a 4-way.  It did not register with me at the time - but this eliminated my existing subwoofer until I buy a new one.  I wish the salesman had warned me or I had thought of it before I said yes - because I would have just bought the 5-way now and at least have a working subwoofer.  Also I bought the 4-way and will need to replace it with a 5-way when I add the new subwoofer later.
2)  As we added the components and total cost they work from a computer and the customer cannot see the screen or what they are writing.  In general that is not a problem but when you look at the invoice they bundle stuff up into a single price.  One of the bundled prices included an phone adapter that I did not need.  When they realized it, they quickly offered a refund on the part.  I mention this because the guys at the store seemed to be making up a price for the adapter and eventually paid me $10.  Who really knows what they originally charged me because it is buried in a line of parts that is priced at $159.00.  I am not saying they cheated me - just that their practices leave one with questions.  This is also raised because the adapter package does not have a price tag either.
3) They installed the tweeters in the door, up by the side mirrors.  I guess I was expecting them to install them into the space on the dashboard where the original tweeter are.  That would have been nicer as far as looks.  I do agree that the location on the door is acoustically better (to have the tweeters pointing directly at your ears). Just does not look as nice and was another surprise.  I am sure it is also more efficient to install all the speaker components in the door which makes it more cost effective.
4) We did not discuss the locations of any of the installation.  They installed the amp under the rear seat.  Probably a logical place for ventilation and access.  Just not the best place for me - as I use that space for storage.  I suggest that all the installation be discussed with your customers so we know what to expect and to minimize surprises.  I may have agreed to pay additional labor to get a more customized installation.
5) I am not overly excited with the resolution on the back-up camera.  It is very grainy and somewhat difficult to see at night.  But I blame myself for not asking the right questions and getting a better camera.
As said - while these items are irritating - they do not take anything away from their professional installation and I am very happy with the head unit.
I chose Mobile Electronics over the other offers even though their price was higher because I liked the people working there and their service.  I still recommend them if you want a work done on your car but I do offer these suggestions as a way to improve your customer service.

The experience I had was fantastic as soon as I arrived. Someone greeted me, went over everything with me with regards to what I needed done. The installation engineer "Luis" did a superb job on every thing. When there was uncertainty when they encountered a problem, they called me every time and not assuming anything, which was great. I had to drop my car off early because they had about 4 to 5 hours of work ahead of them and they gave me a ride home so I wouldn't have to sit there. I now have a new place to go for all of my car audio/video needs. I just picked a new 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD that I will be taking back there for another system. Whomever will be reading my review, pick this place to go, you won't be sorry!

I had received a radio as a gift, but never had it installed in my vehicle.  Decided it was finally time.  Called them late last week and made an appointment -- I needed to wait for the vehicle and they were able to install while I waited.  They said it would take, at most, 2.5 hours.  It took less.  I was there about 1.5 hours total time, but the actual install probably took around an hour.  Radio installed (with hands-free microphone) beautifully.  Vehicle was very clean when I got back in.  Everyone was friendly and I was treated well.  I would certainly use them again and recommend them without hesitation.  In fact, I'm sure I'll be back for a remote start in the not-to-distant future.

installation was completed on time and for the price that was quoted.  I have used this installer in the past and have been happy with the results.  I have recommended this store to friends and would not hesitate to recommend them again.

Great!  Husband went to store asked about cost for this type of car.  He was cheaper than the dealer, who stated they could no longer get the chevy radio and best buy who stated they would do it for $400 total.  My husband asked when.  He was free right then and there.  We brought the car over and was replaced quickly.  Did a great job.  More knowledgeable than all the other people we spoke to.  Tested out the radio in the car, all works.

They are efficient and quick. They did a good job. The reconnected everything with a new interface and everything works well. I was happy with their service and everything. I would use them again.

The online reviews for the product I purchased from Crutchfield warned repeatedly about the difficulties encountered while installing this audio upgrade kit.  Even if I had the aptitude, I wouldn't have tried it myself after reading the dire accounts.  So after doing some research on mobile electronics installers in the Chicago western suburbs, I settled on Mobile Electronics.  But before rolling the dice, I brought in the box with all the parts and pieces. A tech came up front from the shop and opened up the kit.  He assessed the various elements, studied the installation schematic, then went to an online resource to look something up.  After about 10 minutes of this evaluation process, he said "no problem - lets go see where you want to install the sub."

We rummaged around the truck and found a solution, but this meant a custom mounting would have to be fashioned for the 12" sub.

Again, was told this was no problem.

I left the store with a quote and an appointment to bring it back for the work.

I dropped my vehicle off before their 9am open time using a key drop.  At 1:30, they called to say it was ready.  It was beautifully done.  Very clean and neat, with no compromises.  100% functionality and a covered custom mount for the sub that matched the sub enclosure.  And although this was supposed to be a very difficult product to install, they apparently managed it comfortably.  The combined product and installation gives my vehicle a whole new enjoyment.  I would use these guys again in an instant - and not just for audio.  Alarm, remote start, whatever: they have my vote.

Overall great experience.  Staff is professional and honest.  Quality work at a reasonable price.

Start to finish they are easy to work with.  They bend over backwards to help you get the car in for service and then re-deliver when the job is finished.

Excellent service.  I wanted a larger size screen navigation/audio system to fit in my 2006 BMW and they went to great lengths to research what would be appropriate for my car.  At first the only option seemed to be a pop up screen which isn't what I wanted.  The final system was in dash large screen system that works with my steering wheel controls.  The system looks and sounds great.   

The technician was the same one who had done some troubleshooting of my car's stereo for the nearby BMW dealership when they couldn't figure out the problem.  He was very courteous and professional, even showing me how to adjust the settings on the adapter when initially it didn't work as advertised.  I won't go anywhere else for car audio, even though this place is at least an hour's drive from where I live.

I made an appointment to have an adapter put in my car so that I could use my Ipod through my stereo. I was told it takes about 1 1/2 hours to complete.  Through no fault on their own, the adapter they originally tried to install did not work with my system.  They then tried a different adapter, which actually cost less than I was originally quoted.  This took approximately another 1 1/2 hours to install, making me late for another appointment. This left no time for the technician to really explain how to operate the system other than a quick "do this and then do that."  I have two small problems with my experience: 1) Why not offer the lesser cost adapter to begin with and let me make the choice as to which I would prefer; and 2) the amount of time spent waiting for the service to be preformed.  I know that sometimes things do not go as planned and that's why I budgeted two and a half hours to have the service performed and not just what was quoted. I was still late for my next appointment. Since then, the equipment has worked flawlessly and I am very happy with it and the way it was installed. I would still recommend Mobile Electronics as a service provider. 

My husband used them. These guys were very professional and had reasonable prices for installation service. I would definitely recommend them.

I have an AudioVox remote starting system for my 2003 VW Passat. One of the transmitters was not working and I'd been told it would have to be replaced and it would be about $75.00 or more. I simply stopped using it and put it away for a while. This morning I did a Google search and didn't find much nor did I find AudioVox's website to offer much in the way of lists of installers. I checked Angie's List and called Mobile Electronics; they told me to come in and they'd be able to help me. The determined the battery was low and I had that replaced; it took them maybe another 10 minutes to reprogram the remote and they wouldn't take any money. I insisted on paying something so I gave the technician money for a nice lunch and was on my way. I would not hesitate to recommend these guys for any auto related alarm, audio or other car electronics. They also provide cell phones. Really a pleasure to deal with them.

I had called ahead and set up an appointment for the subwoofer installation. The installation was done in a professional manner and was thankful to the installer for some recommendations. Overall, a positive experience and would definetely go back.

They were very efficient. They went through the instructions on how to use it after they did the installation. I appreciated that.
