WeatherWise came and installed a new furnace back during the February ice storms. Unfortunately, they left the hose from our water softener out of the drain after they replaced the furnace. Two days later, we found our finished basement to be flooded. Our plumber diagnosed the problem and was in full agreement that this was due to Weather Wise's negligence. When I called WeatherWise to let them know about what happened, the owner of the business denied that this was their fault, and also was very unprofessional in the way he responded to me calling him about my concerns, stating that he was going through some personal issues with his father and that my basement issue wasn't not exactly a priority for him in that moment. While I understand that personal matters should never be downplayed, as a small business owner myself, I cannot even imagine dismissing the need of a client in this type of way. To make matters worse, the fact that Weather Wise tried to blame us for the issue with the hose was astounding to me. We have lived in our home since 2017 and our water softener hose being out of the drain was never an issue until coincidentally right after Weather Wise replaced our furnace. We had to take out a claim on our homeowners insurance because of their negligence and it has been a real nightmare dealing with the residual impact of their mess. They were quick to come and replace our furnace, which was great, but their dishonesty in not owning up to their mistake leaves a huge pit in my stomach, even four months after the whole ordeal.

Our team promptly and professionally answered all your phone calls, emails, etc. When you notified our company of this issue, we quickly let you know that your furnace did not have a new drain line installed, but rather, the new furnace was retrofitted to the existing drain line. When this answer would not suffice, you requested that we file a claim with our commercial insurance, which we swiftly did. The primary element missing from your review is that the insurance company sent out a third-party claims adjuster to evaluate the situation and found our company not at fault for the problem you described, but rather, the issue was directly related to your water softener (which we have never serviced). Lastly, yes, there was a death within the family of one of our owners. As you mentioned, we are a small, local, family-owned business. We take great pride in that fact, but sometimes life does happen. Our team expended extra effort into this endeavor to ensure you were of the utmost importance. We apologize that you are frustrated; we feel wrongly accused for issues we did not cause. Not a year old and having problems, they sold me a unit that was to small for the house, didn't hook up the condensation drain and let water drain all over my dirt crawl space, had the fan on the furnace so high that it was literally blowing humidity into the house and screwed up every thing. I called them a month ago and was met with hostility and blaming the thermostat and after I called him out on his install he then ghosted me and now I'm left with 7600 to make it right after paying him, this is not the last you will hear from me my next step is the Better business and to the chamber of commerce in Crystal lake. They said that I should go back to the home Warranty and that's where they are mistaken. I payed them to install the unit not the Warranty company, they are responsible for it and the shoddy work.

We had weatherwise come out through our home warranty last year and they needed to replace our unit. We spent $1700 even though it was supposedly covered by the home warranty. They tacked on a ton of "extra fees". Then, it never even worked as well as the old unit. We had them come back out twice within a month for it not performing well. They stated it was due to us having an older thermostat. We replaced the thermostat but at this point it was fall. Now, as soon as summer hit, it was not performing. Two days later it completely went out and is making a screeching grinding noise when it attempts to run. I called them at 11pm last night as their website states 24 hour emergency service and satisfaction guaranteed. I stayed up all night waiting for a technician. This morning I called as I still had not heard from one. I was told they would put in a second message and I should hear soon. The morning went on and I had still not heard back. I called again to be told they could not get anyone here for two weeks and even if they could that they only warranty their work for 60 days. I reminded them that I had reached out to them twice in the original 60 days and the problem was never fixed. They stated there was nothing they could do. Apparently they only provide good customer service if you go directly through them and do not use a home warranty.
