They are the best thing out there until the transporter from Star Trek is perfected. They showed up on time and did not stop or slow down until the move was completed. A mover I thought would take 5 or 6 hours was done in 3. Nothing broken, dropped, scraped, or damaged in any way. The team we had consisted of Tim S., Steve M., and Brian and I want to thank them again for a great job.

We used a two man team. We received three quotes and theirs was the least by far. They showed up exactly on time. They were incredibly polite, friendly, and professional. We ran through what items were going to which address so they could load the truck accordingly. They worked very quickly but carefully. One item was a desk built over a hundred years ago and extraordinarily heavy. It took them a few minutes to figure out how they would get this down from the second floor, but once they did, they were able to do so quickly. We will definitely use Windy City again and highly recommend them.

The whole experience was really great! The initial contact with the company was very informative. They estimated that it would cost $720. So they were pretty close to their estimate. On the day of the move, they were on time. The movers - Dave, Jose and Matthew each introduced themselves. Dave explained exactly what was going to happen. I signed the contract, and they got right to work. And they didn't stop working until the last item was off the truck. I would definitely recommend them.

This was kind of short notice. I had a refrigerator that was left behind at my old house that still needed to be moved. Everything went very well.

Windy City moved our entire home for a work-related relocation, including packing services. We could not have been more impressed with their skill, professionalism, and general good nature of all the individuals we encountered. Two full moving trucks, and not one thing broke! They truly care about providing top notch customer service. We couldn't have been happier.

Everything went really well. There was a mishap where they slipped on the stairs while carrying a large dresser. They chipped the stair on the wall, but it was nothing that I couldn't fix on my own. We were just happy no one was hurt. They also moved some heavy filing cabinets. There was a little more to move than anticipated, but they still came in under the estimate. We were very pleased.

They were on time, friendly and professional.

The whole team was great!  They were fast and efficient and well worth the reasonable cost.

Dave and Dave from Windy City Movers arrived on time, were incredibly professional, handled all of my items with great care, and successfully moved me into the a third floor unit of an apartment building with no elevator. They were friendly, always making sure they placed furniture where I wanted it to be placed, and I was very impressed with how quickly they were able to get everything up the stairs and into my new home. I highly recommend Dave and Dave.

Tim S. called me on time and said that they were on their way and i told him that i was very nervous and overwhelmed.  Tim assured me they were there to help and to make this as easy on me as they could.  They were speedy, but careful with my furniture. And as Tim had  said i had nothing to worry about. They finished the job quicker than i had anticipated and secretly wished they also help unpack. I would definitely hire them again. They were courteous, quick and professional.

The two were incredibly efficient.  Moved us out of the storage lockers and in to the truck in no time. They found a place for everything and balanced all of our items so we could transport our cargo safely and securely. Not a thing was damaged, scratched or mishandled.  Joey and Moses were by far the most professional, efficient and organized movers I have ever experienced and will definitely be requesting them again.

The move went very well!  We had 3 hardworking guys----Dave, Bill and Mitch.  They arrived on time and immediately assessed the situation and then followed through with an efficient plan.  I couldn't believe how fast they were!  There were several large, heavy items, including a piano! but nothing slowed them down.  They knew we were on a budget and did their best to get the job done quickly.  On top of that they had a great attitude which made the move go even better. It was easy to tell they worked well together as a team and were very experienced.   We had too much stuff to move into the apartment and used Windy City Storage to put the extra boxes temporarily.  That went well also.  The same woman who I initially talked to about the move handled the renting of the storage space and she was very nice and helpful.  I hope I don't have to move again any time soon but I know that I would call Windy City Movers when the time comes.

They arrived at the promised time, set right to work and had the apartment emptied in a half hour, to my surprise.  There were 3 men and they were professional, careful and fast, as well as friendly to both me and my 10-year-old grandson who was there to help me.  Altogether the job took only 2 hours including travel and the cost was less than originally estimated.  I was delighted with the move Windy City did for me and would happily recommend them to anyone.

The movers were 2h 45m late.  We had reserved the high rise elevator from 12-3 and they showed up at 2:45.  They knew about the problem but could not find a truck to get there any earlier.  Fortunately the next person did not start using the elevator until almost 4.  They brought in extra crew to assist with the moving out because of the tight timeline.  Once they were on site they were very quick and efficient.  They also did a qucik job of unpacking the apartment.

Windy City Movers sent a team of three guys.  They were 15 minutes late but they called and told me when I could expect them.  Upon arrival they walked around with me to ensure they knew which items were going.  Within 15 minutes, they began working.  Each person had their own role.  They moved very efficiently.  If I asked them a question, they took the time to answer it very professionally.  When they delivered to the new place, there were three sets of stairs they had to navigate.  They moved quickly and I never heard a complaint. When they went to replace the glass on some of the furniture.  They offered to hold it while I cleaned it.
In addition to being professional they were also .  Moving isn't necessairly a fun activity, but they made it enjoyable. I would recommend Tim S, Steve M and Tommy.

They arrived about 10 minutes early, worked very efficiently and carefully, and used every inch of our truck to make everything fit.  They were polite and courteous.  All of our stuff was in perfect condition when we arrived to our new state.  I highly recommend them.

This is the reason I joined Angies list, was to find great companies like Windy City Movers. On the day of the move they showed up a half hour early which was fine with me I was ready to get started. The two guys came up to see what all had to be moved, complimented me on how organized I was for the move, and got right to work. It took them about two hours to load and about the same to unload.
They were both very professional, polite and hard workers. I treated them to lunch since they were working through the noon hour. I highly recommend using Windy City Movers and would use them again for my next move, which I hope isn't soon, but I will recommend them to all my friends!

We had just had wood floors put in.  Our furniture, etc. was in an apartment down the hall.  They moved everything in less than 2 hours, put felt pads on everything before they brought it into the apartment.  Their attitude was one of professional courtesy and total helpfulness.  I can't imagine how they did all the moving they did as quickly as they did, especially considering the heat.  But they were great.

I had been using Angie's list to find contractors and movers when my partner and I moved from the Northwest suburbs to the City of Chicago. I'd narrowed it down to three movers, one of which promised to call back with an estimate the day I called (they actually called a week after we moved). I almost missed Windy City and hadn't considered them because I didn't think they'd come out that far. When I searched movers near the house I was moving from, their name came up again, with very good reviews on Angie's list. When I called Windy City, the phone was answered by a live person instead of a recording. Sherry, who answered the phone, was very helpful and was able to quote rates immediately. She also estimated how many wardrobe boxes we'd need. I told her I was also checking prices with other movers and would get back to her. Because she was so professional I got a good feeling about the company so I called back the same day and scheduled the move.Later that week we went in and got some moving boxes. Everyone there was very pleasant and helpful.I checked in a day or so prior to the move date to confirm that we were on the schedule and that the time was right. Timing was important because we had to reserve the building elevator. Sherry confirmed everything for the day of the move. On the day of the move, the actual movers called to let me know that they were on the way and give me an estimated arrival time. There were three guys, Dave (the lead mover), Steve and Tim. When they arrived, they first walked through the house to assess the best approach, then started right in. Because we were downsizing, we also let them know what items we would not be moving. The movers were very efficient in emptying the house and taking outdoor items from the garage and porch. They finished faster than I expected, so I called the building to see if we could get the elevator a little earlier, then called Dave to let him know it was OK to arrive ahead of the original schedule. By the time we got there, they were already there, and unloading the truck. They had arranged access with the receiving room.Unloading was done as efficiently as the loading, so they finished pretty early. Since we were paying by the hour (in quarter hour increments), the cost was less than I had anticipated. Although they moved quickly and placed everything where we requested, there was no damage to any of the furniture or walls at either location.Moving can be a nightmare, especially if you get bad movers (I know from past experience). Windy City was great to deal with, from the initial call to the final move. The guys all had great personalities and were easy to work with. Overall the experience was a good one and I would enthusiastically recommend Windy City Movers to anyone.

I can't say enough good things about Windy City Movers. When we sold our condo and bought a house we looked at reviews for movers and were scared that so many either had bad reviews or had many good reviews and a few horrible reviews. Windy City seemed to be the only company that had consistently good reviews, and now we know why. We hired them to move us out of our condo, store everything overnight, and move us in the next day. We were really nervous about the entire thing because of the overnight storage, but they made it easy. Even when we had to change the time of our move-in only 48 hours before (when our closing time was pushed back further in the day than we expected), they were more than flexible and willing to work with our schedule that really pushed them into an extra long work-day.

On the days of both moves the crew was prompt, friendly and efficient. They moved the few of our awkward items that we weren't sure how to pack without any problems, and brought wardrobe boxes for us to borrow for our remaining hanging clothes (we'd been told ahead of time they would do that). The final price was very close to the in-person estimate I received. After unpacking we haven't noticed any problems with our items whatsoever. No dings in the furniture, flat screen TV is perfect, and everything fragile made it safe and sound.

Windy City Movers made something that has the potential to be super stressful so much easier! Ed, Shari and both crews were just great to work with. I'd happily recommend them to anyone who needed movers, especially for complicated 2 day moves like ours. Hopefully we won't be moving any time in the near future, but if we do, we know who to call!

Windy CIty moved my things from their storage facility to a new condo across town -- after making a quick stop to pick-up some additional items.  I had  a lot of boxes (but not much furniture) and they were able to move everything within two hours -- no mess, no fuss, no problems.  It was a near perfect experience. 

This is my second time using Windy City Moving and I would NEVER choose anyone else.

Addl comment: One of my bookshelves was scratched.  After rather slow follow up from the manager, I was told that I could either accept a small token from the insurance company for the damage (since I did not purchase additional insurance) ... or I could let them fix the scratch for me.  I chose to handle on my own since I did not care very much about the bookshelves.Although I still recommend this company, I would also encourage you to purchase additional insurance if there are items you fear getting damaged.
