Calling 3 "recommended" plumbers in our area, Sam at Urban Construction was the only one who answered.  He said he had a full schedule for the day but could take care of the job later that same evening giving me a reasonable estimate for the cost.  I told him I would get back to him in a bit with my decision.  Meanwhile I waiting for return calls from the other 2 plumbing companies.  After waiting 45 minutes without any return calls, I contacted Sam to schedule the work.  Sam gave me his complete schedule and an approximate time of arrival tacking my work as his last job for the day.  With a busy schedule myself, I called Sam at the time he said he would likely arrive.  He said he was finishing the last job on his schedule and would arrive in 30 minutes and did.  When my wife explained the problem, he immediately got to work and had the problem cleared up quickly.  He stayed an extra period of time to make sure that the drain problem was resolved by running the water. 
We couldn't ask for a nicer more knowledgeable plumber!  And he acknowledged his potential customers (us) by answering the phone.  While another plumber (not on Angie's list) did call later, the other 2 from Angie's list never called back.  Frankly, we're glad didn't give the job to anyone else.  Urban Construction earned a place as a reputable responsive plumber on our short list of great service folks.  Thanks Sam!

Sam showed up on time and went right to work. He did an excellent job and I will use him again.

It turned out very well. I thought he did a great job and he did it fast. The cost stayed at $99, the big deal purchase price, and then I gave him a tip. He is a very nice man. He has a very broad range of activities that he can do. He has done some mortaring for me. He has done other things in the past. I've actually been calling on him for a while. He has been reasonable. He always gets back to you. He usually can schedule within a short period of time. It depends on what work he is doing.

They did a good job and ended up doing more for me than I expected. Everything was fine.

Sam was able to unclog the drain in the bathtub, despite the drain stopper being rusted shut. Sam was able to open a drain in the floor to unclog the bathtub.

I texted Sam on Thursday before Memorial Day weekend and he came over on Monday morning. Note, this was not an emergency, or he would have come over the weekend. Sam stayed most of the day until everything worked perfectly - from routing drains to replacing shower faucet parts - including the cartridge. He worked and I ran to get any parts we needed from Home Depot (I like doing this because it keeps costs down and I was around anyway).

Urban Construction does great work and is reasonably priced for the level of honesty and expertise. I have used Sam so many times, I really need to be more diligent about reviews. I recommended him for an emergency job for my brother in law - leaking hot water heater that needed immediate replacement - one or two text message exchanges and Sam had it handled.

Sam received and installed a dishwasher at our rental condo (we used to live there and it is still owner grade). He also fixed the disposal (renter managed to get a beer bottle cap wedged in there). I have used Urban Construction several times. Sam is my go-to for any plumbing and electrical. He's even reinforced countertops and patched large sections of drywall for me. He is excellent.

Sam was very punctual. He did the job to our complete satisfaction. Additionally he inspected all the faucets to make sure that there was no dirt that went through. He also cleaned a few faucets that had dirt.

He's excellent and so nice to work with. I will certainly continue to work with Sam in the future.

It didn't go. Three weeks earlier, Sam and I went through considerable discussion to coordinate our schedules, since I travel a lot and work out of state, and he had a number of appointments already scheduled. I have a limited amount of time at home so I was ready at 8:00 a.m. on Dec. 17, which is the time we agreed upon. Two and half hours passed before I heard from Sam, after I called, emailed, called again, etc. Around 10:30 a.m., I received a call back from him saying he was running and quot;a little lateand quot; because of a previous doctor's appointment, but he could be at my house “around 11”. By the time I heard back from him, I had called another plumber. This was my only free day, and I needed to get this done because I would not have another opportunity before Christmas. Certainly I understand doctor's appointments and life getting in the way of the best-laid plans, but without notice or a timely response, this is simply not acceptable. I gave him a and quot;Dand quot; for the overall experience because he did, at least, call back some time during the morning and offered to show up, albeit many hours late.

For each job, Sam and his crew did a fine job. It was a pleasure to work with him and we'll gladly hire him again in the future.

Sam came out to do a rather large job at my house. He ended up fixing leaking pipes in main water line. The overall service and work performed was great. He also came back another time and cleaned the gutters as well as some general roofing work. He was always on time and professional. I would recommend his services to anyone.

The total time spent on the job included a trip to a plumbing supplier to purchase the new faucet, etc. The total cost includes the price of the Moen faucet, etc. Sam completed each task professionally and cleaned up afterward. This was the second time Sam did work for me, and I will happily use him again.

I had previously had a handiman attempt to install this celing fan with remote control and he was unable to do so despite calling the Home Depot help line who told him the universal remote was incompatable with this celing fan. When I returned to Home Depot they said it could be done and contacted their preferred electrition to do the job. I attempted to reach him several times and had poor results. Since I had used Sam Reid Urban Construction for a plumbing job in the past and was happy with the results I gave him a try. Sam did a great job. He had no problems getting the celing fan to work. He did not need to contact any help line he just has very good problem solving skills! I will definately use Urban Construction in the future, my experiences with Sam have been very positive.
