Called this company to replace a garbage disposal because of the smaller size company (I always prefer the little guys to the big companies) and good reviews on Angie's List. Sam Reid of Urban Construction answered right away and counseled me on the different types of garbage disposals out there for me to purchase. When I purchased the new disposal I found that his advice really helped in the selection process. Sam called me when he was on the way and arrived right on time and got right to work. I was concerned that the current sink flange wouldn't come off because I had used some industrial strength glue to seal it up a couple of years previous but Sam was able to work the flange off and replace it with the new one in the disposal kit. The disposal was installed perfectly and he also fixed some of the plumbing I had been having problems with. He needed some parts but he had them in his truck. It's been several weeks now and everything works perfectly with no leaks. I have several condos I rent out and I will definitely call Sam when a problem comes up.

They arrived quickly when I had water draining from my ceiling, and they quickly fixed the problem. They had to cut two large holes in the ceiling to access the drain, which they were able to patch with new drywall and joint compound. The subsequent coats of joint compound took several days which is absolutely understandable. However, they didn't show-up one day they said they would which was frustrating do to previous commitments. In addition, all the dust from sanding created a big mess and I wish they had done a better job containing the dust. Maybe there's a better way to contain that stuff I don't know about. That said, the quality of the plumbing and quality of their finish work was great.

Sam was great! He came by the same day I called (which I didn't expect at all). Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He got everything fixed really quickly. I will definitely call him again for any future plumbing needs.

He showed up on time, with a helper to get the job done faster, with materials in hand.

Sam provided plumbing and electrical work in our condo, which was built in the 60's and has plenty of issues that make renovations difficult. Sam was great and went out of his way to make sure I was happy. We had issues with plumbing valves that needed to be replaced and he installed a sink and faucet plumbing that we tricky. He also fixed and replaced several outlets. Sam was great! Highly recommended.

He was pretty pricey. Installed the kit. He did a fine job.

Sam did an excellent job. His estimate was accurate, he finished the job ahead of schedule, and the work that he did was immaculate. Moreover, he really went above-and-beyond for me. To save costs, I ordered the tiles myself. Halfway through the job, Sam discovered that I had accidentally gotten a couple of boxes of mismatched tiles. He drove all over Chicago looking for a match for me, and wound up getting the correct tiles for me. If you are having plumbing work done in Chicago, give Sam a call!

Sam was very responsive and efficient. He was helpful and pleasant to work with.

Overall, it went well. Sam had to find unique ways to fix the pipe because of its location. The pipe is in a very small crawlspace.

Sam is a skilled plumber, electrician, installs kitchen cabinets, drywall, framing, and can repair just about anything. Truly "handy" because his hours are 7 AM to 7 PM, weekends if need be and an occasional holiday if an emergency arises. He works with other professionals so no project is too big, or too little.
