Studio Nigro Architecture + Design
About us
The breadth of Studio Nigro’s experience ranges from restaurants to new homes, from interior renovation to urban plazas. We enjoy working on a wide variety of project sizes and budgets and find that this overlap inspires us to continually keep in mind both the big-picture concepts and the smallest design details. We take great pride in the service we provide our clients, and feel that great architecture can only evolve through a strong collaboration. Our greatest goal is to provide our clients and project teams a clear path to realize our shared vision. The firm is currently working on a new restaurant here in the city, a series of banks in Michigan, a historic preservation project in Missouri, as well as high-end residential additions and renovations in and around Chicago. Kim Nigro has been the principal of Studio Nigro since founding the practice in 2006. She received her undergraduate degree in Architecture from Kansas State University and later a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. During university Kim spent time studying architecture in Italy; in 2007 she had the honor of returning to Italy as the recipient of the prestigious Burnham Prize Fellowship in Architecture at the American Academy in Rome. Kim is a licensed architect in the states of Illinois, Michigan, and Missouri. Having practiced in Chicago for many years working for renowned fi rms such as Tigerman McCurry Architects and Wilkinson Blender Architecture, her wide range of design and technical experience makes her a strong mentor for the studio’s staff and a clear communicator with her clients, consultants, and contractors.
