Even though they clearly advertise remodeling kitchen, they were quick to tell me they do roofing only. The person who I spoke to was very short, uninterested to even hear what I needed and hung up on me. These guts do not deserve anyone's business!

Actual roof replacement, main house & garage was completed on the first day. 6+ person crew started reasonably early, after 8-8:30 but worked "late" until 5 or 6pm to finish up. It's been almost 60 days, and several rains and we've not had any leakage issues around 3 skylights. The shingles appear to be very well attached despite a couple of heavy wind storms that we've had this spring. The full crew came & worked hard the first day. On the second day a 2-man (person) crew came to finish off the last couple of items.We initially used 2nd City to install heat tape in our south east downspout last fall. But this crew did not seem to know how to install it and did not have proper tools (e.g. drill bits, snake) for the job. I was way too involved in the installation, especially given the high quality of the original heat tape installation the previous fall from the same company, albeit a different work crew. The other "gripe" is that wood was replaced on the garage behind gutters that needed to be painted, but the gutters were re-installed without any notification. Given that they were going to be back a second day, it would have been nice to know so that the painting could have been been done before hand. This created additional work, taking the gutters down and re-installing them after-the-fact. Painting was beyond the scope of the work order, and I did not expect 2nd City to do painting, but a little effort on the crew's part would have saved a great deal of work. When I called 2nd City about it, they were quite responsive. They sent out another (2-man) crew the following day to check on the viability of the new installation. As was, the tape did not work when plugged in. After some adjustment, they demonstrated it working to me -- it was warm in hand. The gutter-paint fiasco and the heat tape installation are the sole reasons for not giving As across the board. The primary roofing effort seems like it is 1st class. But the primary roof did not need any repair or work. Responsiveness and punctuality are highly regarded. The final consideration is would I use them again (I shouldn't have to on this building for more than a decade), and the answer is "yes" -- but I would supervise more carefully than I did.

My experience with Second City was terrific. I called the office and spoke with a very nice man who worked around my schedule to send a rep. out the next morning. Michael, our sales Rep. contacted me immediately to confirm the appointment time. He showed up on time and evaluated the situation.. He provided me an estimate ON THE SPOT and then emailed me a detailed quote. I really thought his quote was reasonable and fair given the amount of work that needed to be done. He was extremely knowledgable and gave me a plethora of information. The workers were friendly and completed the work very quickly. They even cleaned up all the debris and took it with them. The work was completed within a week of my initial appointment. I had contacted several other companies and received quotes from a couple that didn't even provide basic details of the scope of the work, and two other companies said they couldn't give me a price but would send me an estimate which I never received!!! I am thankful I found Second City and grateful for a job well done!

Steve was very professional and honest and ended up being the reason we chose Second City over other similarly priced estimates. The roofing crew was on time and finished the entire job in 2 days. Also very happy with the cleanup of the seemingly endless debris that was all over our yard during the process. We ended up having to pay a considerable amount extra due to spacing between decking. My only negative comment is that I felt Steve didn't accurately portray the chances of going over the estimate. He did tell me that you never know with an old house whats under all the layers (in our case, 5 layers), and that it was possible they'd have to replace the decking for an additional cost. My impression was that it was something like a 5% chance that we may pay an extra $500 to $1,000. Within 4 hours of the roofers showing up I was having to agree to an extra $2,200. All that being said, I'd recommend them to friends/family looking for a new roof.

They just finished recently in February because we had some issues with the cold. They could not actually go out there. It was really cold for them to go out there and work. The internal people we dealt with were very kind and really quick to answer any question. We did have an issue with the owner of the company who was very rude, but we had a great experience with the other key components of the company. I think the pricing was fair.

WOW , is all we can say . Casey the representative came out and assessed the work needed to be done . Second City is great because they are honest , reasonably priced , on time and they are not in the business of doing unnecessary work just to make more money . They finance which was a concern for us , so that worked out as well . We were quite impressed by the on time up to the minute arrival of not only Casey but the roofing crew , tuck pointing crew and facia and soffit crew . Everyone was extremely punctual . We were happy about that because we have a very tight schedule . Casey explained to us in terms we could understand what need to be done . We got a $300.00 discount for using the flyer that was placed on our door . We originally intended get the roof done ( only ) , but after the roof was on completed in 2 1/2 days and the work was solid and professional , it looked Awesome !!!! , I know this because the roofer got on the roof with my iPhone and took pictures so that we could see . It was at that point that we knew we could count on Second City to do work on our home . That is when we added the tuck pointing and facia and soffit repair , these guys do a GREAT JOB !!!! . We are so happy about the work . The work was so beautiful on the that our mail woman had her mom call to get Second City to do her roof . Our neighbors are also impressed . Casey came out to make sure we were satisfied and had any issues rectified A.S.A.P. . We have more work that needs to be done in the near future like , new windows , patio , garage repair and for all of it we will be calling Second City . Oh , I forgot to mention for doing business with Second City we got a beautiful set of porcelain coffee mugs , the customer service rep. Mike Murphy hand delivered them to our home , what a great way to show appreciation . The solid roof was one thing but getting great work and great customer It's wonderful to find contractors you can trust .

We bought a home and the home is in some much needed remodeling. We called Second City to install windows for us. The work was done in about a 2 week time frame (because the windows needed to be ordered). After the windows came in, they came out and installed them (13 windows total) and the frames in 1 day. They came out the next day to the exterior framing. The guys were very professional and friendly and they were very nice as well. I will surely use them again for future jobs as well.

They did a pretty good job. Their work was very professional. It did take them a week or so to get us on the schedule but, once they did, it only took about three days for them to get the work done. The only reason why we probably will not use them again is because the boss (owner), Ed, was a little pushy with us.

Last year, I had an appointment. They called and said he would be late and he didn't show. They called back and scheduled another one, and it was another no call and no show. The salesman then called and asked if I was still looking for windows, and I told him everything was all done. I got blown off three times, and he told me he was very sorry. He said if I needed anything in the future, he would send the owner out and give me a discount. I called them again for a fence, and the owner didn't come out, but Luis Fajardo did.
