PUNCH CONSTRUCTION

It went great.

I have been working with Punch Construction for a number of years now and Stephen Spargur is still the first guy I call when I need to have work done, whether it is a large or a small job. His crew is very competent at construction and carpentry. They do a high quality of work and I always know that when they are done, I am going to be pleased with the end product. As with any job that takes months to complete, our attic build-out ran about 1 month behind the original schedule. For a large project, I considered that pretty good. We had to wait for city inspectors and sub-contractors occasionally and work around holidays. In the end, when there were deadlines, Punch Construction worked with us and got the job done. I will continue to work with them for a wide variety of jobs that come up around my building.

UNFORTUNATELY, ALMOST EVERY ASPECT OF OUR EXPERIENCE WITH STEPHEN SPUGUR AND PUNCH CONSTRUCTION WAS NEGATIVE. THE JOB WAS STARTED A FULL 2 WEEKS AFTER THE ORIGINAL PROMISED START DATE. THEY WERE LATE EACH AND EVERY DAY THEY WORKED. THEY HAD TO LEAVE THE JOB SITE TWICE BECAUSE THEY RAN OUT OF GAS FOR THE POWERWASHER AND DETERGENT FOR THE DECK. THE OWNER FALSELY CLAIMED THAT IT WOULD BE HIM DOING THE CARPENTRY WORK, AND THEN GAVE THE WORK TO AN APPRENTICE. THE OWNER CLAIMED THE STAIN WOULD BE BRUSHED ON AND THEN IT WAS ULTIMATELY ROLLED ON INSTEAD. THEIR FINISHED PRODUCT LOOKED MUCH WORSE THAN OUR WEATHERED DECK. THEY "FORGOT" TO CHECK THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS AS AGREED UPON. THEY LEFT BEHIND EMPTY STAIN CONTAINERS, GLOVES, AND DECK BRUSH. THESE GUYS CAME RECOMMNEDED AND BUILT THIS DECK! WE EXPECTED THEM TO AT LEAST WANT THEIR WORK TO CONTINUE TO LOOK GOOD. WOULD ADVISE ANYONE CONSIDERING DOING BUSINESS WITH PUNCH CONSTRUCTION OR STEPHEN SPURGUR TO QUICKLY LOOK ELSEWHERE.
