Necessary repairs (crashed hard drive) were made in about half a day.

We needed help resolving significant problems with Microsoft Outlook and setting up a home network.  We called Pro Computers because they provided excellent service to us a year ago.  We were able to make an appointment for the following day.  Although Florian was running late, which was a bit inconvenient, he did give us the courtesy to call and let us know he'd be a bit late, which is always very appreciated.   With regard to the actual work, he quickly set up our home network and then tackled the Outlook problem.  Within a couple of hours he recovered missing files, resolved connection problems and set up a new account which has been running smoothly ever since.  We are very satisfied with the service from Pro Computers and would highly recommend them to others. 

Again, Pro was asked to recover 45GB of files from my defective hard drive. To put this in perspective, that translates into over 47,000 files. This was not an ordinary hard drive but a dual RAID hard drive. That means it was a complicated recovery job. The hard drive was actually two hard drives with the potential for half a file, for example, to be on one side and the other half on the other. If PRO messed up the data would have been erased from the drive with no recovery possible. Abt Electronics wouldn’t touch it. While PRO did not have either the expertise or the equipment (I'm uncertain which one or both they lacked) they did have a wonderful "go to" guy that did the job quickly and efficiently.  It is perfectly acceptable to me for a company to pharm out their work. I went to PRO three times to recover my data. Once was to drop off the hard drives and to agree on a price ($600).  After the recovery, I visited PRO for a second time with my external hard drive in hand. After all, once the data was recovered PRO needed a way to give it back to me (the original hard drives were useless). The next day I returned to PRO for the third and final time to get my external hard drive back with the recovered data in it. The $600 price was reduced to $540 after I noticed they offered a 10% discount on their website. Angie List customers get a 5% discount.  As a side note, I am now having my files continuously backed up on line through Carbonite.

Arrived as scheduled and installed the part quickly. Also gave advice on replacing the old Dell. From beginning to end, the service was done well.

I had an emergency traveling to Chicago.  My laptop computer would not actuate or turn on at all.  I was presenting at a conference the following day and had 300 persons who were relying on me to have a working computer.  I went to Best Buy and was told they would have to ship the unit back to Sony, which would take 6-8 weeks.  They never even offered to open the unit and look at it.  

I desperately searched for another repair facility and found several that were closed or not located at the place where they stated.  I ended up at Pro-Computers.  They were professional, helpful, and were able to provide a solution and fix the unit in less than an hour.  The cost was high, but given the urgency of the situation, it was completely acceptable.  

If you are looking for a repair facility that is ethical, responsive, and does superior quality work.  Look no further than Pro-Computers in Chicago.  They saved the day and the week!!!

I called ahead to have them diagnose a display problem with my monitor. They found the problem & had me up and running within 24hr. Their diagnostic fee was money well spent.

They looked at my machine, took it in and charged a $49.00 fee as is their practice.  Called a few days later with an estimate, also found touchpad was not working, and included an estimate for that repair. I agreed to both, and machine was ready a few days later, as promised.

Battery connector had come loose.  Needed the computer for travel immediately.  They had it fixed and ready for pickup in less than a day. Great service.  Highly recommended. 

This is one of the best experiences I have ever had with a service provider. If there was an A+ grade, I would give it to him. I would recommend him and his company to anyone who needed computer service.

The fan in my laptop broke and they fixed it. However, it appears that while the fan was being replaced, the latch on the batter pack was accidentally loosened, such that the battery wouldn't stay connected. I brought the laptop back to them and they fixed the battery latch without charge. At a lot of stores/repair shops, I would have been arguing who caused the damage and how - but not at Pro Computers. They were apologetic and promised to fix it as soon as possible. I appreciated the one-on-one, honest service from a neighborhood store and I would absolutely return to them.

This was the smoothest repair ever! They kept me informed via email of the repair status, gave me the option of consenting to additional charges after their diagnostic workup via email, and informed me of the repair completion as soon as it was done. I would defintely use them again.

Pro Computers LLC/Chicago Computer Repair provides great service at a reasonable price. They came out and worked on my computer and took it into their shop to tune it up. They were responsive and gave me choices on what to do.

Overall, very pleased with service. Gave me an accurate estimate of the cost and timeframe to fix my laptop. Provided me with an option for replacement of keyboard with used or new keyboard. Only issue was included in their bid they proposed replacing my anti-virus software. Inquired why as my service was current, they did not have a good explanation other than thought was inferior anti-virus. I did not elect to replace anti-virus.

It went great. These guys have saved our lives about 5 times over the last few years. We love that for a reasonable fee, we can get immediate service.

Very well. I dropped it off one day and it was ready the next day around noon. There was no push to buy anything additional. I use this laptop as a second computer so I did not need the extra memory but it was fine that they told me what they could do for me and the price. I thought the work was done well and there were no problems.

After one week without a home computer, I paid over $130 ($50 in labor) for them to replace my power cord...what a waste. While they did call me a couple of days after we dropped off the computer to give us an update on ordering a part - the explanation was misleading - perhaps due to a language barrier - something about an adapter, etc.. At this point, we also told them we forgot to mention the CD drive was not playing properly and could they take a look at that as well. The surprise when we picked up the computer today that we had spent over $130 for a power cord and for what I consider to be a somewhat appalling dearth of effort and 'labor' on their part - is pretty disappointing. Admittedly, my husband and I are not tech savvy people and we should have inquired more about this 'adapter' (which is why we took the laptop in to them in the first place), but we would have understood the explanation: "Your power cord doesn't work and we're ordering you another one. (at an enormous markup)" And when we asked about the CD drive, the guy had no idea what we were talking about. It doesn't matter - we won't be taking the computer back here anyway.

I dropped my sons netbook off the evening of the 26th of October to be repaired. I was given an estimate of the cost at that time. I was promised that it would be ready the evening of the 27th of October. I received a call and an email on the 27th in the afternoon that it was ready for pickup. When I went to pick up the netbook it had been repaired. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the actual cost of the repair was less that the quoted price. Pro Computers is located on the North Side of the city, I live far south and it was more than worth the drive.

We've had a great relationship Pro Computers. They are excellent.

One day there was a picture on the computer monitor and the next day there was none. Three months ago, I had a terrible computer service experience. This time I checked Angie's List and, after reading many reports, chose highly rated Pro Computers . I took the computer to their store. I was charged a $49.00 diagnostic fee that would be used toward any repair needed. They promised they would call me within two days and they followed through with that promise. The problem was a defective modem. They removed the modem and explained that it did not need to be replaced because I do not use dial-up internet service. The computer repair was completed the next day. The technician called and I picked up the computer. There was no additional charge. I put my computer back together the next day and it is fine. I never would have guessed that a defective modem could cause the picture on the monitor to be lost.

Very well. Pro Computers was able to repair the hinge instead of replacing it, saving me money. They also replaced my laptop screen (Dell) at a reasonable price. They got it done within 2 days, which is amazing. I will definitely return here to repair my computer if it needs it.

The diagnosis was done quickly and I agreed to the MB replacement. Chris had a difficult time sourcing the board as the first vendor failed to supply the order. With the board in hand the repair was completed quickly. Chris tried hard to repair windows installation so I would not have to reinstall the programs. When that failed he provide backups. The price was very good, Pro Computers actually obtained a board for $100 less than I could find it.
