The plumber was able to schedule the appointment so that I wasn't billed emergency overtime rates, which I greatly appreciated. The job was done well -- the blockage was deep and I was unable to clear it myself. This is the third time I've used Power Plumbing and they have always done a good quality job.

After multiple phone calls and finally finding out that one person could not do an estimate for all of the things we needed done, I decided to drop them. Too much hassle to have to follow up with them and figure out scheduling. It should be as simple as 1 phone call and you have a date for an estimator to visit your house.

We always have a good experience with Power - have been using them for over 20 years.  This time was no exception.  When the plumber started work he found that there was less to do than originally planned.  He let me know AND the price was reduced.  I am not a plumber and would never have known that less was being done, but they are honest and ethical and so they let me know. The work area was left clean and we are happy with what was done.  Can't wait to have them come back and install the sink once the rest of the work is done.

It took awhile to get started due to other jobs, but once started they stayed at it until completed.  I was always informed on what they found, what they were going to do and shown the work after it was done.  Their work will outlast the house.

We just love them and they have been really great for us. We have used them on several different projects since we bought the house. They had to repair the sewer outtake for the basement bathroom. We knew it was damaged and leaking and wasn't able to fix it because it meant drilling into the concrete so we waited on it for a couple years. We finally saved up enough to have it done. It cost $3000.00 and they came out and did it and it should have cost more. There ended up being another problem that they had to fix but they stuck to their original estimate. Replaced the 2 joints for the sewer outtake and replaced the pipe from the toilet to that joint that was rusted out. It was a type of metal you wasn't suppose to use and then they incased it in concrete which you are not suppose to do so they to completely take out that chunk as well. They are honest, fair and educate you on what is going on. If you ask them questions they are more than happy to tell you everything that they are doing. The price is not the cheapest on the block but they are very fair.

I called them approximately 9 am about checking three water heaters in a building I won.  I told them what I needed and received a call back from their office with an hour,  Their union plumber called me when he arrived and inspected the property in about an hour.  Work was need to be done and the price quoted for labor and materials was discussed and met in the final bill.  I can not recommend this company highly enough for their integrity, work and pricing.

My natural gas provider shut off the gas service due to a gas leak.  Since I was out of town I instructed my tenant to contact a plumber to repair the leak. He contacted Power Plumbing & Sewer Inc. and was told that 2 plumbers would be sent with a minimum charge of $810.00 for 2 hrs.
The service rate was high but not being in town I instructed the tenant to go ahead with PP&S.  I estimated that the repairs
couldn?t take more than 2 hours based on my 25 years plus experience as landlord and having dealt with similar situations in the past. The total time the plumbers took to complete the job was 5½ hours at total cost of $2,362.50. Since I was not in town to dispute the charges, the invoice was paid by the tenant.
On my return to Chicago, I checked the work done by PP&S. The job performed confirmed to me that it couldn?t have taken at the most three hrs. I called two licensed plumbers to give me their professional assessment on the maximum time that the repair should have taken. Their opinion was that at the most the work should have taken 3 hours and that it was overcharged.
I went in person to the PP&S office where I spoke to Ms. Vizza who identified herself as the office manager. I explained that the service performed was substantially over charged. Ms. Vizza explained that it was due to the cost of 2 licensed plumbers. However, the licensed plumbers I contacted told me that it should be 1 licensed plumber and an apprentice. She offered to refund me $400. Several days later I went back to PP&S and spoke to Ms.Vizza & Joe, who identified himself as the owner.  I asked him about
the plumber charges and the excessive hours charged.  He said that the reason that he had to send two licensed plumbers was that he didn?t have an apprentice to send at that time. He didn?t want to discuss at all the matter of excessive hours charged. In my opinion I don?t think that I should have to pay the additional charge of a second licensed plumber. Furthermore, I should not have been charged the excessive hours that the plumbers took to complete the repair.

The individual I spoke to was very helpful and took time to answer all of my questions. He referred me to a company that they have worked with in the past to have our catch basin vacuumed out. I told him about our basin & the lack of care that it has received from the previous home owner. He then explained how the basin should be vacuumed, cleaned and scraped and that the company he was referring would perform these items. The company he referred me to explained the job precisely as Power had and we now have an appointment scheduled. Thank you Power Plumbing!

Bob and Levon were fantastic - professional, friendly, conscientious, and determined to get my problem fixed as quickly/safely and as they could with minimal damage to my drywall.  They kept me informed, giving me options and their recommendations as they went.  They worked hard and were relentless in their search, always ready with another idea on how to find it if some approach/attempt didn't pan out.  They were definitely motivated to get the problem corrected fast so that I could call the gas company and get the heat back on, but they also were very careful to make sure that they had fully fixed the problem.  They were also conscious of the money I was spending on them, letting me know that they would be willing to stay until it was fixed that evening on the day I called them but just reminding me about the overtime pay and that it would be expensive.  They said that they could come back bright and early the following day instead if I'd prefer to get started back on the problem on straight time.  We got a hotel room that night and opted for that option, and they were indeed there bright and early to attack the problem.  Many thanks, Bob and Levon!  Very happy I called Power Plumbing.

I was having trouble lighting the pilot on my water heater. I spoke with John to schedule a service call so they could do it for me. John was patient and walked me threw it step by step over the phone. He said I could do it and that I did not need him. He was correct, I did it with his help. This type of service reminded me of how things used to be. I will definitely use this firm in the future for billable work.

We contacted Power, a company our 6 flat condo association regularly uses, to inspect a suspected sink hole below our basement floor. They brought out a camera ready to look at the line, then after further inspection, excavated the floor, as it was evident we had a sink hole, likely from a broken floor drain pipe.  Mike was great to work with, communicating regularly with me on progress and showing me what he found under the floor and explaining to me the steps needed to fix our problem. In addition to dealing with the sink hole issue Lavonne(spelling?) and Mike noticed gas connections in our basement that were leaking and needed attention. Mike capped them and removed an unsafe heater installed years before by "a guy" the association hired.  He also noticed that one of our floor drains was very slow and cleared it to the catch basin for us, then explained how I could maintain that drain myself.  This is not an unusual experience with Power.  All of the plumbers we have had from this company are professional and point out areas that could be an issue in the future, helping to prevent emergencies.  They are our go to plumbing company.

I called Power Plumbing after Toto Bros Tile and Flooring ruined my bathroom!  I hired Toto Bros to install ceiling to floor tile and a pitched shower floor using the same tile throughout the bathroom.  Toto Bros said they installed Durock and a shower membrane but DID NOT!  The shower drain needed to be lowered in order to install the new pitched floor.  I was misled by Toto Bros in them telling me that they could just tile around the drain and it would be fine.  If I had listened to Toto Bros the shower floor would have fallen down through to my second floor ceiling and the water damage and injuries could have been catastrophic!  I immediately shut down their work and called Power Plumbing to have them look at the situation.  Jason stopped over the same day and accessed the situation.  After several tiles were removed from the floor he could see the plumbing work.  He told me there was no waterproofing material installed to the shower floor.  He used a telescoping camera to investigate the plumbing problem.  He was professional, compassionate to my situation and walked me through the steps needed to be taken to resolve all of the plumbing problems.  I called the office and talked with Stephanie who was so attentive to my serious situation.  She went above and beyond the call of duty for me.  Stephanie let me know that the schedule was booked solid.  She was kind enough to rework the schedule and Jason was there a few days later.  I really do not know what I would have done without the help of Stephanie, Jason and Power Plumbing!  It is a family owned company and you can tell that they really put their customers first.  The company does what they say they will do for you, on time, in a professional manner and the cost is very reasonable.  Jason was a miracle worker!  The minute he waled in my home he got right to work.  No personal calls (like some vendors), no breaks, very polite, efficient and very tidy.  He put down drop cloths, cleaned up all areas, and did an amazing job.  I am so glad I found a reputable plumbing company.  I will definitely recommend them to my clients as well as friends.
