Major attitude problem. Unprofessional. I'm extremely disappointed. They don't deserve a special recommendation.
Description of Work: Contacted this company because of the high rating. After explaining problem over the phone, and asking for the free estimate, which their company profile states they give. I was told this sounded like a small job, and they don't give estimates on small jobs, they just come and do the work. EXCUSE ME!!?!! I cancelled.

Guys were professional , neat, courteous, and gave a very good impression. I think the job could have cost less, since there were two of them, and I was paying by the quarter hour. Similarly, them having to come back was a nuisance in terms of my working hours. 2nd visit was no charge. Overall experience positive: if I have another plumbing job, I'd use them again.
Description of Work: Below grade waste pipe leading to ejector pit with ejector pump was blocked with baby wipes. Waste water and sewage backed up into basement shower: blockage was before ejector pit. Required two visits to remove all objects. Not sure why they didn't start with the large equipment, rather than progressively stepping up in size from simple (basically what I could have done myself) up to the equipment that finally cleared the line on the 2nd trip. Not a reproach, other than the management could take the view as to what saves the customer money. After second visit the problem was completely resolved.

Extremely disappointing; highest rated but thoroughly unhelpful over the phone... will not visit and provide an estimate for ''small jobs'' and will not cap fee for the same jobs. Also, they demand parking arranged and charge $140/hr for first hour including time when first passing the building looking for parking! In my opinion, entirely over-rated.
Description of Work: We asked this outfit for a quote and they provided one over the phone only.

After calling another plumbing company which failed to get back to me until a day later, I picked these guys of the list. The plumber called me back very quickly and we discussed the problem. While they were willing to come out on a Sunday he suggested we wait until the next day to save $'s as we have a second bathroom which was unaffected. Plumber arrived when expected and replaced the ejector pump with a heavier duty unit as he said the existing one (installed by developer 2.5 years ago) was not designed to handle bathroom waste. Pump cost $325 labor 202.50.
Description of Work: Diagnosed failed sewer ejector pump. Replaced pump with higher capacity unit.

They weren't inexpensive, what with after hours overtime and coming on an emergence basis, but I was totally satisfied. They knew what they were doing, and carried out the work neatly and professionally. Also, kudos to the young lady who answers the phone - she asked all the right questions and obtained all necessary information, enabling them to come to the work site fully prepared, with the correct heater, etc. I also received a 10% Angie's list discount.
Description of Work: Remove leaking water heater and replace with a new water heater. Also, replace incorrectly located water cut-off valve (original) with new valve, correctly located on the cold water inlet. They came promptly on short notice on an emergency basis after hours

The overall experience was very smooth and pleasant, beginning with the woman who answered the phone at Power Plumbing. James called to find out if he could arrive earlier than scheduled, as another job had been cancelled -- in fact, he arrived within half an hour from my call! (I don't expect this is quite the usual response). I appreciated that he was very careful in trying to unclog the utility sink, to avoid breaking the drain connections -- which would have meant I'd have to buy a new sink. Replacing the cover on the stack clean-out took most of the time on the service call -- the threads in the opening had been stripped, and James made several trips back to his truck to find a solution that finally worked. He was also very clean and tidy about a messy task.
Description of Work: My home has the old cement utility tubs, where the drain is apparently built as part of the tub itself. James used a water ram to clear the drain. I also had an odd test plug covering the clean-out on my sewer stack that had been leaking. He replaced the test plug. The job ran $130 for labor and $20 for parts. The work was done in November of 2005.

Although the work was not done by Power, the phone experience and follow-up was excellent. Robin was very helpful on the phone and shared what kind of repair would be expected and a good basic understanding of the costs involved. We were so distressed to recently experience significant leaking in our basement. Other plumbing companies told us we would have to rip out substantial portions of our finished basement to resolve our problems. The estimates got higher and higher with each contractor. Thank goodness we contacted Power Plumbing! James was a delight to work with. He analyzed our situation and even drew diagrams describing the work he proposed. He was prompt, efficient, professional, and friendly. And best of all, he accomplished the job within the time and price he estimated. I would recommend Power Plumbing to everyone! Thanks, Angie's List!

A wonderful experience from start to finish, considering the rodding didn't work due to our old pipes. They returned my call promptly to make the original appointment. Scott, the plumber, came out the first time and was on time, polite, neat, meticulous. He informed me at each step of what he could try next to see if the pipes could be cleared. After trying every possible method, and calling to check with the office for consultation, he told us that the pipes needed to be replaced. He offered the option of just the tub pipes or to do both tub and sink. He got an estimate over the phone for job (between 2500 and 3500 if including the sink). Rae made an appointment with me the next day for week later. Scott returned and got help from Bob. They were on time, neat, efficient and quick. They finished the job in one day (thinking it might have been two), cleaned up, explained the work and brought the job in at the LOW end(2500), even with both tub and sink!
Description of Work: Our tub was draining very slowly. We thought it needed rodding. After doing 4 1/2 hours of work ($512) to no avail due to old pipes, they rescheduled to come out and replace pipes from tub, sink and put in a new stack.

Scott was on time, neat and very polite. He wore shoe coverings and made sure to put down a tarp while working. He cleaned up everything, even though I told him I was going to mop afterwards. I do wish I would have had the guts to tell him to tear into the wall on the first visit, that way I would have saved $300. I did request Scott to come back when I realized that a second visit was needed. The only problem I had was scheduling the second appointment. No one called to tell me when Scott would be back. After waiting a day, I called and was told he would be out during a time when I had a previous appointment. Scott arrived on time and I left him to do his work. He was still there when I got back, so I was able to get a verbal report on what he had found. Scott made this whole ordeal a painless as it could. I will definitely use Power Plumbing again if need be and recommend them to anyone needing a plumber.
Description of Work: The first time out, the plumber spent 2 1/2 hours checking for a leak under my sink and dishwasher, to no avail. He recommended a company (not on Angie's List) that specialized in water damage. They came out and were able to pinpoint the leak. I set up another appointment and when he arrived, I told the plumber to ''go for it.'' He tore out my kitchen wall and located the leak immediately. He removed the offending pipe (poorly soldered due to shoddy construction) and attached a new one. The $715 is a small price to pay considering the damage to my wood floor, kitchen tiles, drywall and mold removal I have to have done. He also took a look at my garbage disposal, which wasn't on the list.

They came out and didn't do the camera, just started routing. When they came out, they were late, and said they would have to charge us overtime. We needed to get the work done, so I said that was ok. They started routing, and said they had everything taken care of. After they left, it started raining, and we had some leaking in the basement. They told us that it was because of our gutter lines and the city lines. They said they'd need to do more inspecting. The cleared out the catch basin, and we kept having trouble. They told me that I needed the city to come out and inspect it. In the meantime, I had another plumber come out and found all types of stuff that they hadn't taken care of. Now everything is working fine, so they charged me for work that they never actually did. They've called me back and are very nice, but I think I should get some of my money back, since I had another plumber do the work for less money, and did a better job.
Description of Work: We hired them to inspect for some smells we had coming in the units, and we had some toilet problems. They were to camera the line and do some routing.

So happy with these people. From the person (Robin) who took the call and scheduled the appointments (I needed two different dates), to the completion of the project. The plumbers were prompt, professional in appearance and service, cleaned up after themselves, and even advised me how to fix a problem on my own. At the first appointment, I mentioned to that plumber that I wanted something added for the second appointment. However, I never called the office to add it. When the second appointment plumber (different person) showed up, he had it on his to do list. These people are such a refreshing change. The price was totally reasonable and I would (and will) use them again.

Was concerned that they did not do everything that was asked. Called to ask about finishing the work. They called back. We spoke. They said they would get back to me. No resolution since. Been a month now. Rule of thumb, if you use them, confirm the work; You must be there; Don't leave it to your 23 yr kid to watch them even if he is having to deal with his 3 & 5 yr throwing tantrums at the time.
Description of Work: Used POWER PLUMBING twice; first time to replace busted kids' toilet and was charged $350. The second visit was to replace 3 bathroom (4 sinks, 1 tub & 1 shower) faucets washers and unclog master bathtub drain. They unclogged the drain and replaced 1 washer set out of 4 sinks and 2 showers and billed $400.

Power completely blew me off. It was a Sunday when I discovered the leak in the water tank. Robin from Power called me back on Monday. I told her the problem and she said I needed to get back to her with specifics regarding the tank, size, total BTUs, the size of the flu etc. I called her back the next day with the details and asked her when someone could come out to replace it. She said she would call me back and suggested I should think about replacing both my tanks and converting to just one water tank. I asked her if it was dangerous that water was leaking on my basement floor. She said no just keep checking on the tank to make sure it doesn't completely collapse. Ugh! She didn't call me back so the next day I called her to tell her we were sticking with two tanks and would just like to replace one. She said she'd call me back with a time. She never did. I am happy to say I found American Home and Heating on Angie's List and they were happy to do the job!

The plumber was essentially on time and very pleasant. He replace the faucet and it now works perfectly and looks great. When he replaced the sloan valve, however, the wrong size was put in and there was an odd sound every time I flushed it. I called Power Plumbing and the foreman, David came out. He was amazingly efficient, super nice and replaced the valve with the correct one. Although, it wasn't fixed correctly the first time, they didn't charge me for the second visit, were extremely responsive to my problems and I would recommend this firm. I will definitely have them bid on the large kitchen rehab I'm doing next and was pleased with my overall experience.

They did a great job. The plumber (whose name I forgot to ask - maybe David?) was great. He explained to me the problem, advised me on how to avoid it in the future, and offered to help me move back my stove and refrigerator. He did a great job working around the fact that I did not have access to the building water valve to turn it off as he would have preferred. I appreciated him finding a work around and that Power Plumbing was able to fit me in when I know they were busy with a lot of burst pipe jobs from over the weekend. I'm very satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: I was out of town over the weekend when the temperatures went below 0. When I returned Sunday night I did not have water in the kitchen but I did Monday morning. Monday night I returned to find water spurting out of a burst pipe behind my stove. I was able to turn it off and checked Angie's List and found Power Plumbing, who were rated well. I left them a message and called again first thing Tue. morning. They told me they were very busy but would be able to get someone out sometime today. They called at noon and told me someone was on the way. They were able to replace the burst piece of pipe (even working around the fact that I was unable to turn off water to the building since that valve was in another unit).
