Water Heater was leaking. We called after business hours and the operator had a plumber call me back within the next 15 minutes. John called back promptly and explained my different options. He was very upfront about overtime rates and recommended I turn of the water, drain the tank myself and then have them come out in the morning to replace it so we wouldn't have to pay overtime rates. He walked me through the process and assured me they would call first thing in the morning. Draining the tank takes about an hour and therefore saves you an hour worth of labor charges if you do it yourself. As a first time homeowner, this information and honesty was much appreciated. The next morning Rae called at 7:30 am and set up the service call. David, the foreman, showed up around 9:30 am (called when he was on his way) and immediately got to work. He was very professional and careful. He explained what he was doing, why he was doing it and he was done by 11:30. The new water heater looks great and we're back in business. He also helped answer some questions about other plumbing issues that I had. Couldn't be happier!

We just bought a garden unit in a lovely building in Edgewater. Not so lovely was a sewer gas smell we noticed shortly after closing. We tried everything we could think of to get rid of it. Being first time homeowners, it was a more than a little deflating to have our new, beautiful home smell like a sewage treatment plant. After suffering enough, we called Power Plumbing on New Year's Eve. The guy that called me back (can't remember his name) gave me the option of him coming out that day (at double the cost) or doing a temporary "fix" to one of the possible issues myself and calling back on Monday. We tried to do a little over-the-phone diagnostic work and I took the latter option. The temporary "fix" wasn't helpful as we still smelled it. However, I still called at 10:30 Monday morning. I am so glad I did. Scott was at my condo at 2:45. SAME DAY!!!! He found that the lid to the ejector pit wasn't sealed and, in fact, wasn't even put on correctly. The previous owners had had a not-so-good plumber just plop the lid over the hole. It's no wonder they had candles and air fresheners all over the house! Scott did an outstanding job. Because everything was packed in a-la-tetris, he had to do a little demo work to get the lid off so he could check out the pit and put the lid on correctly - with sealant. He did so and, so far, the smell is gone. He even cleaned up after himself. He was pleasant, seemed knowlegeable, and was very professional. If we have another plumbing issue, Scott is the man we are going to call!!!

Over the years, we?ve been plagued by periodic and subtle smells of sewage in our home. It got worse over the years, and none of the plumbers to whom we explained the problem were able to fix it. Finally, I decided to go with Angie?s A-List and called Power Plumbing. I requested that they send some of their best plumbers because I felt like we?d had competent plumbers before, but for whatever reason, they hadn?t been able to zero in on the problem. The guys they sent (Mike LoRusso and Mike Biancalana) were top notch. After questioning me about the issue, they did a number of tests and immediately located the problem (rusted out sections of the vent stack--alas, behind the kitchen cabinets). I was so impressed with how they found and fixed this issue, that I asked them to fix a half dozen other minor (and not so minor) plumbing issues. Everything they did for us was done efficiently and professionally. While they were here, they gave me several other maintenance and repair suggestions (unrelated to plumbing) that, as it turned out, saved me nearly as much money as I spent on the plumbing. I highly recommend Power Plumbing, especially if all their employees are as excellent as Mike LoRussso and Mike Biancalana! I plan on calling them for all my future plumbing needs.

Great. While a bit pricey, they were punctual, professional and excellent at their craft. Scott did a great job and was so good at checking and double checking the connections, etc. He made sure everything worked (two times) before he left. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Got the estimate over the phone and it was less expensive than quoted.

Everything went well and there was no charge. I would use them again in the future and their rates are very fair. The quality of their work is great. As an added bonus I liked how it was a female owned business and she was a licensed plumber.

I called Power Plumbing about a kitchen faucet that was leaking. They were for professional on the phone and were able to get someone out to see me when it was convienient for us. They were punctual and quick. Turns out that I needed to replace my faucet and they offered to install one that they had in the truck. I did end up getting one on my own, but were able to fit an appointment in the next day to come and install. They told me that they spotted some mold that I should have looked at ASAP and gave me a referral. Overall, this was a very painless process and I think they did good work. I would hire again if necessary.

As promised, Power Plumbing called approximately 30 minutes prior to the service person?s arrival at 9:30 AM. Scott was professional and provided details about the work he was going to do for me. He also had a great sense of humor. Of course, the kitchen project changed during the time Scott was in our home. The job took five hours ($767.50) because Scott had to locate and work with our building?s staff to identify the source of the clog. We?re in a high-rise condo and we?re on the end of the building. Our unit is on the south side of the building and the other unit is on the north side. Our kitchen plumbing is back-to-back with the unit on the north side of the building. I did not know this information for sure until working with Power Plumbing. Scott located and spoke with our building?s maintenance supervisor and accompanied him into the other unit (which is not occupied year round) to find that unit?s kitchen sinks were clogged and backed up. They determined the clog was not in our units but in the building?s main line. The building staff would have to unclog the main line. Scott completed the work he could do in our unit, ordered the part for the bathroom sink and left all work areas pristine. Rae from Power Plumbing called me when the sink part arrived. I called on 11/15/10 to schedule a time for the sink to be repaired and received an appointment for 11/16/10. Scott returned with the part, but the after-market stem was shorter than the original and would not allow the handle to turn if installed. Scott attempted to replace the packing (the cause of the leak) but was not successful. Since we are planning to remodel our bathrooms, we decided to live with the leak instead of purchasing a temporary faucet. Scott confirmed that the leak was not underneath the sink and that it was safe to continue to use the sink as long as the leak only occurred up top near the handle when the cold water was on and stopped when the handle was in the off position. This service cost $195.75. Again, Scott was professional and provided excellent options and details. He left the work area in excellent condition. As many reviewers of Power Plumbing & Sewer Contractor, Inc. mentioned in their reviews, the company staff is professional, responsive, well informed and I will use them again. I highly recommend them. They also offer a ?deep? discount if you come to them via Angie?s List.

Power did great work. The plumbers were responsive, supportive and went beyond all expectations to help me through a difficult situation. The other-company-who-shall-not-be-named refused to take any ownership for its abysmal work and Power was extremely helpful behind the scenes as I tried to manage my response and get them to pay for damage. Power had no reason to do this other than to provide great customer service - Power did not benefit financially from this and indeed took a bit of a loss in working with me. The owners were involved and they were terrific, too. I highly recommend this company for its competence, responsiveness and integrity.

I called Power after a wall and ceiling in my basement started buckling from water damage. I called first thing in the morning and they arrived later that afternoon. The damage was fairly extensive so they came back very early the next morning to make the repairs. Prior to doing the work, they gave me multiple estimates depending on whether they would be able to cut out the damaged pipe or replace the entire pipe (or do some sort of temporary fix of covering up the damaged pipe). I was prepared for the worst as we've had very bad experiences with the pipes essentially crumbling in people's hands when doing repairs in the past. Fortunately, Power was able to cut out the damaged portions without harming the rest of the pipe. All in all it was a very positive experience.

After my initial call to the company it took an individual one week to call me back to schedule the estimate, he left me a voice message. I called him back immediately and I never heard back from him or the company. Terrible customer service!

Great. This is the second time I have used this company. They are so fast to come out, the professional they sent was great. The old disposal was out and new one in within an hour. He showed me all the important things that I should know about it (reset button, where allen wrench goes if something gets stuck) While the services are expensive, they are so wonderful, personable, quick, knowledgeable it is worth every penny. Thank you.

Had a pipe that was leaking. It also turned out that the drain was all plugged up. John Morzy came on time, was very professional, did a terrific job and charged a very fair rate. I was thrilled with the service I got, and plan on using Power Plumbing once again. I can't imagine calling anyone else - really! When I find a good one, I am thankful!

John Morzy came for an estimate the week before, and returned as scheduled to do the work. The job turned out to be bigger than anticipated, despite having scoped it with a sea snake/camera. John explained all the details and showed me the problem, then called in a 2nd guy. They kept to schedule, explaining everything as they went. They were friendly and knowledgeable and I was very confident about their work. I had asked previous plumbers and contractors about the smell in our bathroom, and they all shrugged their shoulders about it.

I had a sewer gas smell coming from the drain, the lady on the phone said that they needed to send two guys and that it would cost 130.50 per hour per plumber. It took them about an hour, and after troubling shooting, they found a problem and corrected it. The work was done to a good standard and the plumbers seemed very professional; that is until I received the bill. They were both there an hour, and Rhonda said to charge me for two hours. Once I questioned the bill, the plumber went out to the truck and came back about 15 min later, and said they would charge me 1 3/4 hours, and at this point they haven't been there for even an hour and a half. The service was and plumbing was good, but the ole' bait and switch, or double bill for services will keep me looking for a different plumber next time I have a problem.
