About us

As one of the leading ventilation system experts, we provide air duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning, for both residential and commercial property types. We also provide HVAC services for residential properties. Founded in 2002 from a small office in Naperville, IL, Mr. Duct was born with a singular mission in mind: to improve the indoor air quality for the Greater Chicagoland community. Committed to doing so with both integrity and quality, owner Keith Thompson quickly hired his first three employees and gained NADCA certification—the industry’s most thorough set of standards for HVAC inspection, cleaning and restoration services. After answering the call to improve thousands of homes and businesses’ indoor air quality, Mr. Duct experienced explosive growth: first relocating to a larger office in Lisle, IL and then establishing seven additional offices to ensure outstanding service for both Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. They blew everything down into the furnace but did not clean out the furnace. They were on time and were professional. Someone else had installed the furnace incorrectly, so I had to call that provider back to have it cleaned out. They were very honest with their advise instead of charging me a lot to do the service.

It was right after I moved in. They were very thorough when they cleaned the furnace and tuned it up. They actually showed me pictures of before and after. They were just very thorough.

There was some confusion on price that felt like bait and switch. I wasn't home when the work was done and they told my husband to pay a different price than what they told me. We paid it but something felt off. They got to most of the vents and cleaning was fine.

You were original quoted for a single furnace and when the team arrived they informed us there were two systems, therefore the price was adjusted to reflect a two furnace home. I smelled a burning smell in my dryer and immediately stopped using it. Mr. Duct was able to schedule a same day appointment to come out and clean my dryer vent. They were very professional and did a great job. The price seemed a little high but I was willing to pay for their quick service. they were only able to clean the dryer vent and not inside the dryer.

Not well. We paid for an onsite inspection for a 3-+-storey building, which they said would be in-unti as well as outdoor. When the people arrived a week after inspection, it was news to them that the bulding was multiple storeys. They failed to inform us of a (or to repair) a dented dryer vent on the outside of our building that led to a lint fire in our dryer.

I was told I would get before/after images of duct work when I set up the appointment, that didn't happen. When I let the company know the followed up and sent someone out to put cameras down the ducts so I could see the work was done right, which it was. However, they double checked the furnace and this was not done. They cleaned it at that time. However, I paid for that service, if I had not had the issue with the before/after images I would never have known my furnace was left undone. They were very nice and professional with me, however, the service I paid for was not performed. I'm just lucky I had them come back for a separate reason. I just wouldn't trust this company again.
