0 stars. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! After instructing the movers not to move certain boxes they went through the boxes and stole many items. When I called the company the owner, Jay laughed about the situation saying it was my fault. After reaching out many times asking for my items to be returned I am now taking legal action. This was an absolute nightmare of a situation. You are better off moving yourself and not hiring these thieves.

It went well. They were efficient. We had a couple of glitches but overall it was good service. They were a little late to the second move date, all moving company workers complain about how much there is to move so that was not a surprise. They earned every penny! A couple of tv stand/component system glasses were broken. I think we tipped them well also. They also took a lunch break with the load on the truck. I thought that was unusual.

These guys were great. Worked with BK Louis to arrange 2 moves. Jose headed up a 4 man crew for a grueling 3rd floor walkup to 3rd floor walkup and they did an awesome job! Terry and Daniel literally moved a ton of slate sheets on a different move and did and excellent job. The pricing of both jobs was super reasonable. Will totally use them again!

It was a fail. Worst move I've had since I first moved out of my parents place (and that's a lot of moves). We used this company before it went great, which is why we used them again. This time, half the team was slow, there were numerous smoke breaks (while in the truck with our furniture), the refused to bring my desk up to the office because they didn't believe it would fit (we got it in the next morning), they left multiple rooms wrapped in plastic wrap, they put all of the furniture in the guest room but didn't set up the bed (the next day we had to take it all out, unwrap it and put it together). I get moving is hard, that's why we hired someone else to do it, but when we have to clean up/unwrap/put together what we paid someone else to do it's not only disappointing, it's frustrating. Oh, almost forgot they also took 2 chunks out of the walls at our old place and didn't even say anything about it. We found it later when we went back to clean.

We completed a move with Phil, Anthony and Juan Carlos. The team showed up a little late due to getting stuck in traffic from their earlier job, so ours ended up taking from 3:30 until 10:30! They never slowed down, never seemed tired or crabby! They were amazing! They wrapped everything nicely and even helped get a tricky bed piece through an upstairs window! All while smiling and being very pleasant! Will always use Jay Movers for moves, though hopefully no time soon ;-)

They showed up on time, wrapped all furniture for an extra $40, moved quickly , and were very careful not to damage anything. This was our second time using this company, and will definitely use them again if we ever move.

I found that the attention to detail used by the movers themselves to be very poor, as much of my wood furniture ended up with scratches, dents and dings. The response by the company itself was also extremely poor, as they failed to ever return my calls to follow up. The owner himself offered to come and look at the damages, as I once caught him on the phone when calling in the early morning - only to never call me back to set up a time or follow up. When I finally did receive a follow up call from someone - (after sending a strongly worded email) he said there was nothing they would do, as it was covered under the loss and damages waiver that I signed before moving. I think for a moving company to show such small regard for their clients' belongings is really sad, as it is the core of what they do. The main piece that they damaged was not monetarily expensive and could have been replaced - what would have made me happy was to see the smallest amount of concern and apology from anyone in the company. I would suggest that no one ever use this company, as I have read many great reviews for others in the Chicagoland area.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! We had the worst moving experience ever with this company. They broke some very valuable items that were just purchased and never once said "sorry". They were extremely unreliable and showed up 5 1/2 hrs late. It appears that they "low ball" the estimate just to get the business and have a habit of blaming the customer for everything that goes wrong with the move. I am baffled how anyone could have a good experience with this company after what we went through.

Each move wasn't excessively expensive. The crew was ready to go 20 minutes before the agreed time on the first day. And right on time on the second day.
The crew worked hard the entire time, and did not break or impede the quality of anyitem moved.

The guy that answered was friendly but seemed rushed. He took my information and said someone would call me back, but no one ever did (it's now a week later). I'm glad I found out how little they value their customers BEFORE I hired them to do my move.

Wonderful! The experience was seamless and easy. I will definitely call Jay Movers again. From the very start they were accommodating. The person with whom I spoke on the phone was sincere about being glad to take a small moving job. The movers came right on schedule. They were very careful with my furniture, not a problem. They were also very patient. If I wanted something moved "just a little more to the left", "no, let's put it back where it was", "maybe over there", Eduardo and Ricardo did it with grace and enthusiasm. Each time we moved something, Eduardo and Ricardo wanted to be sure it was what I wanted. I kept finding dust and such when a piece of furniture was moved and vacuumed. As they saw me holding my baby and vacuuming, they offered to help. When they moved the rug, they vacuumed the back of the rug before putting it down (I did not ask them to do this)! I was grateful for the attention to detail and customer service. Both Eduardo and Ricardo cared about the job and wanted me to be satisfied with their work. I am! I am happy I found Jay Movers on Angie's List. Thank you to those who posted reports. My experience was good like yours.

They were the 2nd lowest bid and were able to work the same day I called, so I hired them. The first time out they ended up at the wrong address, and since I wasn't there we weren't able to get the situation straightened out before the owner of the furniture had to leave. Jay was (understandably) upset that his men had wasted 5 hours, but we rescheduled for the next morning and everything went smoothly. The moving crew itself was fantastic and handled everything with care.

I haven’t unpacked yet so I can’t be certain yet how well they did. They took a job that was estimated to be an eight hour job and they made it a four hour job. They were right on time and they didn’t dilly dally between stops.
