Jack at JL contractors answered all me e-mails and questions promptly. The job was done as promised. The workers were courteous, efficient and very knowledgeable, their skills were impeccable. They began and finished the job on time. We maintained excellent communication during the time it took to do the job and at the end everything was cleaned, dirt removed, nothing was left behind. If i need to do so, I would hire JL contractors again with no doubt. I strongly recommend this company.

I called Jack and reached him on the first try on cell phone. He called me back later the same day to get full details of my problem. He said he had a very busy schedule but would try to squeeze me in the same week which he did two days later. Unlike the previous two people who I had out who looked at the problem on the inside of the house and said they would come back with a bigger latter. Then they never returned my phone calls. Jack, addressed the problem the same day. He called me at work (from up on the roof!) and very honestly told me he couldn't find a leak. He told me my options and gave his recommendations. He treated the area of the leak (as seen on inside of the house) with roof cement that same day. We will have to wait and see if that takes care of the problem. Only charged $65 for the visit and treatment. He was very nice and very responsive. I think many of these companies will blow you off if you don't have a very big job that is not worth their time. This was totally not the case with Jack.

Jack won the work for two reasons. One, he had great reviews on Angie's List and two, he was very prompt and persistent from the time we called for a quote until the job was completed. He had given me the contract with the quote. Once I had signed and returned it, he was able to squeeze me in very quickly. His crew called to let me know they were running late, but once they arrived, they were quite efficient. I was especially impressed that they were especially concerned about safety and cleaning up all nails and debris. That is important to a mom of two little boys. Unfortunately, they ran out of shingles and had to stop work for the day because the roofing supplier was closed on Saturday. They covered the unshingled roof areas carefully to prevent water getting in if it rained (which it didn't). Jack showed up himself the next business day and finished the work himself. The roof looks great. Jack and crew were prompt or always quick with a call. They hauled away the debris and did not use my trash cans. The clean up was thorough with no nails or shingle pieces lying around.

Called for an estimate, Jack came same day and left detailed est in the mail. Was still waiting on two other estimates, when Jack called, he was able to start work following week. (Job was probably too small, as other estimates took too long and one was way out of line for work to be done.) Work was completed in two days, very happy with work done, clean up and Jack's client oriented demeanor.

Jack came out to give an estimate within 2 hours of my initial call. Estimate was detailed and reasonable. He was very friendly and professional and explained in detail what his company would do. The work was scheduled within 2 days of my signing the contract. His workers were on time, courteous and efficient. They protected items that might get damaged or dirty in the backyard and after they finished they cleaned up after themselves leaving the backyard cleaner than it was before they started. WOW! This was the most painless project we have had done on our house. It is a 100 year old house and we have had many projects. The roof looks great, the backyard looks better than before the work and I have nothing but good things to say about how the work was done.

We were very pleased with the work. There was more wood that needed replacing, and Jack did it at no extra charge (though I added a small amount for his trouble). We got more than we paid for, and the work was started earlier than expected and completed in two days. They were able to get it all done before the next big rain, and we greatly appreciated the extra effort involved in doing this. Jack is extremely professional and has thorough knowledge about roofing. I highly recommend this company!!

Called for an estimate and Jack came out the same day and left a detailed proposal and shingle samples. I was still deciding on what company to go with when he called me the next week to follow up. I really liked this since some of the OTHER highly rated roofers on this list were VERY unresponsive. I decided to go with J&L because of Jack s professional attitude, attention to detail, the right price and that they could do my job in one day. The following Friday Jack calls again to see if I was willing to have to the job done that Saturday. I was and the next morning the dumpster was dropped off, Jack and his crew of 5 showed up, they covered the plants and got to work. The tear-off took the longest amount of time. Then, they removed a lot of bad wood and replaced it before laying down the freeze shield, felt and shingles. They also replaced the vents and re-did the flashing on the chimney. An amazing job for one day and the clean-up was first-rate! The next day I noticed some of the fascia in the front got a little banged up. I called Jack and he came out that day, fixed it and now it you can t even tell it was damaged. That s what I call service! I will definitely use J&L Contractors in the future for any exterior work I want to have done.

I was very impressed with the service that Jack provided. He was able to give me an estimate right away and listened to my needs on the project. He was able to start the job a week earlier than planned and completed it in one less day. The crew removed the existing roof shingles while protecting not only my house but the neighbors' as well. Most of the roof was removed to the large area on one side of the house. The chimney was demolished and a new concrete one was built. Layers of sealer were applied to protect the chimney from the elements. Over sized gutter downspouts provided a challenge because of the location of the downspout. Jack was able to come up with a plan that worked and looked good as well. When rain threatened the completion of the roofing of the garage, Jack's crew did their best to protect the garage and immediately completed the job when the rain stopped. I really appreciated the cleanup that the men did after each day. There was very little that I had to do afterwards. At all stages of the project, I knew that I could communicate with Jack and there were no surprises about what was going to be done or when. I love the look of my new roof and would recommend Jack's company to anyone.

He took the time to actually trouble shoot and figure out what actually needed to be done. He did a great job and i would use him again.

From the beginning Jack communicated with us the best and was very quick to accommodate our scheduling needs. We were looking to "patch" a problem and not completely redo the entire roof and tuck pointing. Jack came out, communicated our options clearly and made sure we understood the benefits and consequences of each choice. We were impressed with his thoroughness, and when it came time to selecting a bid, Jack was not only the most professional but also the lowest bid. We were on a tight schedule, and despite a busy fall, JL Contractor Services was able to finish ahead of the two week deadline we requested. We are very happy with the results as it is complete and cost effective from our stand point. The roofing work went slightly over budget and after it was completed, Jack requested that we contribute $100 additionally. Even though it was optional, we were happy enough with the work to oblige.

Jack was considerate and responsive from the time of my first phone call requesting an estimate. He was busy (it was late autumn and everyone wanted work done before winter) but kept in touch with me regularly until he could stop to do the estimate. Jack priced the separate pieces of the job individually so I understood what I was paying for each. He timed his work when the weather was not threatening, and his workers protected our house as well as our neighbor's during the "tear-off." When they uncovered some decking that had to be replaced over the back porch they secured a carpenter the same day (at reasonable cost) to make necessary repairs so they could continue their work, which they completed on time.

Jack returned my initial call for an estimate in a timely manner and wrote up an estimate on the spot. We went over it and made sure everything that was needed to be done was covered. Gave an estimated start date and time (which was eventually moved up, thankfully). Showed up when promised, started on time every day and cleaned up the work site every night. Took care to protect landscaping and my neighbors' property. Kept me up to date on progress each day. Had a good crew that worked well together and were very polite. Finished the job on time and budget. Good job, good team and finished work looks wonderful.

JL Contracting was very prompt and diligent in their work. They were always there on time and finished the project in the same amount of time that they said it would take. They made sure to clean up all their mess and kept the property looking great throughout the whole process. He was very fair in his estimate and did a wonderful job on the project all together.

Good price compared to other bids as it included whatever lumber would be needed. Jack was polite and professional. All workers concentrated on the job.

Just outstanding, everything. Jack is a hard-working nice guy, punctual, reliable. His bid was between the two other roofer bids we got, I chose him because when he came out he showed me things and explained things he wanted to do that made sense to me. He's clearly a do it right kind of guy. His men work hard, and long. They were always polite and never loud or unruly. They start early and work until the work is done, then they clean up your grounds nicely. I had complete trust in Jack to make the best choices, to correct things needing correction like replacing boards that were rotted or whatever. I never felt like I had to keep a close eye. My roof and flashing look great. I recommend him highly.

The owner, Jack was always willing to spend an extra time explaining the pro's and con's of certain materials and colors used before we negotiated the price of the project. I had several other firm's estimates but I picked Jack's firm because I was still in charge of decisions and Jack just supplied me with options and lots of experience. I had several other house repairs done in the past and had used various contractor firms but I can easily say that JL Construction was the easiest company to work with. I never had to worry about city permits, garbage, or insurance. Jack took care of all the paperwork and is was all included in the contract. Jack was upfront with all needed repairs so I never had to question his decision making skills. Once we signed the contract, the work was performed to my satisfaction and more importantly all the work was completed before the due date. I know JL Construction does a concrete work as well and I already spoke with Jack about my driveway repair.

Jack was prompt with my estimate and his crew began work when he told me they would start. They were on the job every working day until the job was finished. There were no surprises and the job went very well. Jack returns my calls promptly and his work is first rate. When the work was complete the debris was cleaned up and you could not tell we had had such extensive work done. I have hired JL since and was again very satisfied with the work they did.

Jack was very responsive, returning my initial call within a day, providing an estimate in two days, and following up with me after. When I decided to hire him, we were able to schedule the work within less than a week. His crew of two showed up on time, worked diligently and courteously. The job turned out to be more extensive than expected (additional layers to be removed and more wood to be removed and replaced) but Jack and his crew stayed until dusk and finished it the same day and did not assess me any additional charges.
