"WE QUOTED ONE OF THE MORE EXPENSIVE AND HIGHEST QUALITY PRE-FINISHED ENGINEERED FLOORS ON THE MARKET FROM MIRAGE FOR THIS CUSTOMER. THE CUSTOMER ENDED UP HAVING AN UNFINISHED SAND ON SITE FLOOR INSTALLED BY ANOTHER COMPANY. RESPECTFULLY, THERE SHOULD BE A $3000 TO $4000 DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO FLOORS IN QUESTION. THIS IS LIKE COMPARING APPLES TO ORANGES. WE WERE NOT GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO QUOTE THE UNFINISHED FLOOR AND I'M CONFIDENT WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE SAME BALL PARK GIVEN THAT CHANCE."
"WHILE THE CUSTOMER CLAIMS THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE WORKMANSHIP, HE HAS REFUSED REPEATED REQUESTS BY HOME CARPET ONE TO INSPECT THE TILE INSTALLATION. THE CUSTOMER WAS TOLD THAT HOME CARPET ONE STANDS BEHIND IT''S WORK AND THAT IF NECESSARY, HOME CARPET ONE WOULD REPLACE THE ENTIRE JOB. THE CUSTOMER''S REFUSAL TO ALLOW FOR AN INSPECTION CALLS INTO QUESTION HIS TRUE MOTIVES. THE CUSTOMER''S CLAIM THAT HOME CARPET ONE FABRICATED AN INVOICE IS COMPLETELY FALSE. AT THE TIME OF THE TILE PURCHASE THE ORIGINAL INVOICE STATED THAT INSTALLATION WAS "TBD" OR TO BE DETERMINED. TWO DAYS AFTER THE PURCHASE OF THE TILE, THE CUSTOMER REQUESTED HOME CARPET ONE TO PROVIDE A QUOTE REGARDING INSTALLATION. THE ESTIMATOR TOOK HIS NOTES ON THE COST OF THE INSTALLATION ON THE ORIGINAL INVOICE AND THEN GAVE IT TO THE SALESPERSON TO DRAFT A "CHANGE ORDER" TO THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT. THAT DOCUMENT WAS INADVERTENTLY SENT TO AMERICAN EXPRESS. CONSISTENT WITH OUR PRACTICE AND OUR CONTRACT LANGUAGE (AND WITH THE CUSTOMER''S EXPRESS PERMISSION), HOME CARPET ONE TOOK A 50% DEPOSIT FOR THE TILE INSTALLATION. CONSISTENT WITH HOME CARPET ONE''S PRACTICE AND CONTRACT LANGUAGE, THE BALANCE WAS PUT THROUGH AFTER THE INSTALLATION. HOME CARPET ONE HAS OFFERED TO RESOLVE THIS DISPUTE WITH THE CUSTOMER IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS. THE CUSTOMER''S REFUSAL TO ALLOW US TO VIEW THE INSTALLATION MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SATISFY THIS CUSTOMER."
