Heatmasters has been a family owned business since 1950 providing state of the art service to our customers. We have been able to maintain our high level of customer service by always investing in our customer oriented employees. We have two divisions to serve the needs and desires of our customer base. Our residential division serves the heating and cooling needs of homeowners in the Chicagoland area. We pride ourselves in taking the same level of care for the smallest to the largest of projects. Our Mechanical Contracting Division serves the mechanical needs of our commercial, industrial and institutional clients. Our professional staff strives to meet our clients' objectives by providing timely, cost effective solutions. In our 60 years of servicing Chicago and the surrounding suburbs many things have changed, but there is one thing that remains constant. We have grown and flourished by remaining consistent to our core principle of placing our customers’ needs first.

They allow you to buy a three year contract at 90-100 dollars. I didn't find those rates to be terribly expensive for the value they give you. I liked that they are also very clean and they give you a summary of their findings.

Call to telephone answering service not relayed to service department. Called later in AM to verify appointment, but service department had no record. Set appointment for 4 hour window in afternoon same day. Technician came within appointment window and fixed problem within 15 minutes of arrival. Heatmasters did original installation several years ago and have used them for annual maintenance and service calls.

I appreciate the way Heatmasters handled my feedback on why we didn't choose them and will reconsider them in the future. I noticed that on Angie's List, Heatmasters had once been an A company and their ranking is now a B. I think that my feedback to them may help them to see how they can improve.

I called them on a Saturday and they came out on the following Monday. The representative arrived and turned the furnace back on again and it worked. We discovered that there was a moisture pump that had plugged up and was the cause of the shut down. This irritated me because they were the ones who were supposed to be maintaining the system. He left, without cleaning anything. Apparently, he had left a hose loose (it later came off) and they charged me again to come out and fix this. I no longer use them.

The service guy was pleasant and on-time. He advised us that we need to replace our furnace and should not use it any longer due to a risk of carbon monoxide leaking into the building.

Know that if you hire this company to do any work for you, you are signing up for a lifetime of obnoxious sales calls. The woman who makes the calls is pushy and rude, and the company has ignored our repeated requests to be removed from their call list.

We were happy with them at time of installation, but since then we've had a few problems with our HVAC equipment, which never seem to fall under warranty, despite their hard-sell twice-yearly $120-for-20-minutes maintenance visits. We get the impression they know and care less about HVAC than they do about long-term service contracts. After succumbing to their you'll void your warranty threats for a few years, never being able to get help when we need it, we're going to look at other companies to service our system. We're disappointed, after a good first impression, and I suspect a lot of the good reviews here are based on their initial installation, which was good.

A SALES REP CAME QUITE QUICKLY, WAS ON TIME AND VERY FRIENDLY, AND WE DISCUSSED WHAT I NEEDED. BECAUSE I HAVE A BOILER AND NOT A FURNACE, I NEEDED TO ALSO REPLACE THE AIR HANDLER UNIT AS MY OLD ONE WAS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW EQUIPMENT. BECAUSE HEATING AND AC WAS MY FATHER'S BUSINESS, THERE HAD BEEN SOME CREATIVE INSTALLATION OF MY OTHER UNITS (MY DAD DIED IN 2001 AT THE AGE OF 96). HEATMASTERS SPENT EXTRA TIME ADJUSTING TO WHAT WAS PREVIOUSLY DONE AND WORKING WITH IT. THEY WERE NEAT, CLEAN, EFFICIENT, PATIENT, AND THOROUGH.

WE'VE USED HEATMASTERS BEFORE. OVERALL, I WAS THRILLED WITH THE SERVICE AND THE PROFESSIONALISM OF JAMIE, WHO MADE THE CALL. IT DID TAKE 2 WEEKS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT, THOUGH WE WEREN'T IN AN EMERGENCY. THEY CALLED TO SAY THEY WERE ENROUTE TO OUR HOME. I WISHED THEY WERE STILL OFFERING THEIR 10% ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT. THEY SEEMED TO THINK IT WAS MORE ANGIE'S LIST IDEA THAN THEIRS AND HEATMASTERS DIDN'T KNOW IF THEY WERE STILL OFFERING IT. DIDN'T SEEM TO KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT. WE CALLED TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE AC UNITS ON THE ROOF INSPECTED FOR FAULTY WIRING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS MEANT TO ARRIVE BETWEEN 1 AND 4 ON A FRIDAY. HE DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 5 PM. BY THEN, IT WAS TOO LATE TO DO THE WORK. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE CALL WAS BILLED AS AN EMERGENCY CALL, WHICH WE DID NOT SPECIFY ON THE PHONE. THE TECHNICIAN WAS FLIPPANT AND SEEMED TO UNDERSTAND LESS ABOUT THE JOB AT HAND THAN WE DID. WE RELUCTANTLY PAID THE $70 FOR THE CALL, BUT NO WORK WAS DONE. WE CALLED AGAIN ON MONDAY TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE WITH A SUPERVISOR. THE SUPERVISOR WAS WILLING TO DEDUCT THE $70 FROM THE ACTUAL BILL FOR THE ACTUAL WORK, BUT THEIR ESTIMATE ENDED UP BEING MUCH HIGHER THAN AN ELECTRICIAN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE A SIMPLE CHECKUP AND CLEANING OF YOUR HEATING UNIT, THIS COMPANY SEEMS FINE, BUT MORE EXTENSIVE WORK SEEMS OUT OF THEIR RANGE. THIS IS TOO BAD, BECAUSE THEY WOULD BE THE FIRST CALL YOU MIGHT MAKE FOR HVAC. NOW, IT SEEMS YOU NEED TO DO A FURTHER DIAGNOSIS ON YOUR OWN.
