Very pleased with the work, and the quick response. They were professional, courteous, thorough, and answered all questions to my complete satisfaction. They also provide a lifetime workmanship warranty, so it's nice to know they stand behind their work.

Great! Another plumber told me that our sewer pipe needed to be replaced at the street sewer and quoted $10,000. Given the price, I wanted a second opinion. Trevor from Goode came out and ran a camera through our pipe for free. He explained that the pipe was not ideal (slopes up in an area), but definitely not worth repairing. Could not have been happier with the advice and guidance.

Tl;dr: DO NOT USE GOODE. This company was dishonest, misleading, horrible with communication, and jeopardized the sale of our home. Our experience with this company was an absolute nightmare, and we want to share our experience so others can avoid making the same mistakes we did in trusting Goode. We hired Goode to replace a flood control system while we were in the process of selling our house. Their quote was $2K higher than another bidder but we chose them for their reputation. They started the job the day before the home inspection and absolutely tore up our front yard and paver sidewalk. The existing flood control was to the side of the sidewalk, but the hole they dug was about 5 times larger and directly in front of our front steps. That hole remained there for over 5 weeks. Nothing was disclosed upfront about the destruction of the front yard and sidewalk, and we spent $900 repairing the damage they caused. They also told us on this first day that the manhole cover may be directly in the middle of our sidewalk. Even the guys digging the hole said this should have been explained to us. We battled with Goode for weeks and ultimately the cover was placed just to the side of the repaired sidewalk. The project was then paused while we waited for the City to inspect the project and issue the permit. Finally we were told the permit was granted and the hole would be filled in, but only *after* an electrician came out to run a new line. Nothing about electric was disclosed to us previously and running a new line would require opening up drywall in our basement. We also had to coordinate separately with the electrician to make the appointment, and he was backed up so it took over a week for him to come to the property. When he finally came by, no one from Goode showed up to remove the cover over the giant hole so we had to wait another week for him to come by again. Ultimately the job turned out to be simple and we waited 3 weeks for the electrician to do a 1 hour job that required no access to the home. In the meantime, in response to our buyers’ concerns, we called Goode nearly daily to fill in the massive hole in our front yard. They finally said they could fill most of the hole while leaving an opening for the remaining electrical work. After the hole was partially filled, guess who showed up at the property? The City, because Goode had not secured permits after all. This caused another delay while we waited to actually get the permit from the City. The City finally approved the permit on a Friday morning, when we were moving out of the property the following Tuesday morning. Goode refused to fill the hole until Monday, which meant the yard and sidewalk repair would need to be done after we’d moved out of the state. This ultimately worked out with the help of our realtor but was a giant pain in the neck and huge stressor in an already stressful situation. But you know what Goode is timely about? Collecting its bill. The very next day after they finally filled the hole, while we were driving cross-country to our new house, Goode called asking for its payment. We explained how unhappy we were about the handling of the project and asked them to make it right. They ultimately reduced the cost by $500, which did not even cover the repair of the undisclosed yard and sidewalk damage. But our hands were tied as we needed to provide an invoice to our buyers before closing. Bottom line: Goode is no good! Do not use them and if you do, be prepared for rampant miscommunication, dishonesty, and completely preventable delays.

They did a good job but they're kind of expensive.

Very professional repair! The first plumber came and inspected the leak, explained the issue and gave me an estimate for each option for repair. I made my choice, and in the same morning a team of two other plumbers arrived and quickly completed the work! They observed health and safety protocol and used booties and floor mats to keep my house clean. Job was successfully completed and my water pressure even increased!

Goode showed up on time, were courteous and clean, completed the job quickly and I haven't had a problem since. They are on the high side in terms of price but I would absolutely use them again. I've used less expensive plumbers but didn't receive the quality work that I got from Goode. Plus they were nice to my dog!

Anthony and his partner were professional and did a good job. No complaints regarding the work done. Also Goode did keep me informed about when they would show up via text and a call a half hour before. My complaint lies with their pricing. They price from a "book" of jobs--rather than taking into account the time and materials for a specific job. The minimum in this case is based on installing a 3-foot pipe with up to 5 joints. This was a repair to 1 joint. To repair this 1 leak was $636 dollars. But once you've waited all day for a repair job that needs to be done, you just have to move forward. At 3pm on a Friday they got you by the short hairs. Next time, I will consider the scope of the job before I hire them. Its unfortunate, because I am a real estate professional and am in the position to refer tradespeople constantly. They do a good job, but very beware of their pricing.

I'm sad this contractor parks their commercial truck overnight on city streets....namely Lawrence Av by the expressway. Jefferson Park is overrun with commercial truck parking violators, negatively impacting the neighborhood feel and creating an eyesore, making the neighborhood look trashy. Unprofessional. I contact these companies and alert them to the city ordinance and request they stop, but of course that gets ignored.

Very frustrating to work with. Someone came out promptly to give an estimate for the work and it was astronomical. Over $6000 to do work on several faucets and toilets. Non negotiable. Took apart the ceiling of an apartment to see the source of the leak, and the estimate increased further. Charged $375 for that without fixing anything. Was told I would be called back and never was. I found another professional plumber who gave me a new estimate for $150 and then came back and fixed all of the issues in the building for $1050 including the $150 for the estimate Communication was awful, would not hire to complete the work.

I could not be more impressed with the expertise and top-notch service I received from the team of Alex, Brian and Karly at Goode. They diagnosed and fixed my problem immediately where previous plumbers from another well-known plumbing company failed after several visits. The Goode plumbers worked until 6:00 on a Saturday without complaint, rushing to leave or emergency charges. Goode provided next-day service when I called for an appointment and, after inspection by their quality assurance specialist, gave me costs up front. The costs seemed reasonable to me. The team was extremely pleasant and good at explaining to me. Highly recommend as a resource for single women homeowners and/or owners of a vintage home.

Great! Chris / Joey provided us with a list of options to consider and answered all our questions. Later the same week they came back and installed the new toilet. No mess, no fuss and we look forward to working with them again when we tackle the next project.

Received a quote in advance of the work. It was a bit pricier than I anticipated, but as the work was described, ended up being a bigger job than I expected as well. Communication with the company throughout the process was outstanding. They provided a two hour arrival window the day before then provided updates via text / phone calls up to the point of arrival. The two man crew arrived on-time and finished the work in a professional manner.

Got quotes from two other top-rated plumbing companies on Angie's List, but went with Goode Plumbing because of slightly more reviews. They were the only ones to not provide a quote and when they came, they quoted double the price as the others. At that point I already paid some money for the service call, so incredibly frustrating spot to be in. Work was good but will look elsewhere next time.

Extremely overpriced! I have a few rental properties around Chicago, so I have a sense of what these types of jobs cost. Goode quoted me a price that was easily 3X market. What's worse is they charge you for showing up to quote an outrageous number. Found another service same day to do the work for less than half what Goode quoted

Fixed a slow kitchen sink drain and dishwasher backup. Diagnosed and fixed the problem fairly quickly. Got the job done at a good value.

Quadruple the price of other companies. Would not hire

Excellent. This was a two-man job, and Mike and Mike fixed the problem with expertise and the highest professionalism. This was old plumbing, which brings its own challenges. For the last part of the job they asked me to show them the location of the main water cut-off value.(so that I knew where it was in an emergency).. A minor issue, but it shows the level of thoroughness they brought to the job. I have used Goode for other jobs, and they bring a consistent level of service excellence.
