The guy was late, but traffic was probably an issue so I didn't consider it a big deal. He checked out the furnace and fixed the problem with a small adjustment.
Description of Work: The furnace was making a very loud noise, I thought the blower was about to go. I asked for a check up so they could find the problem. Turned out to be another device in the furnace and the problem was very minor.

They came over within 2 hours of calling them and had the furnace installed the very same day. The pricing was very competitive and fair. I took a chance with them and they delivered in spades. I would use them again in the future and I definitely would recommend them.
Description of Work: My furnace went completely off right before the big start of the cold weather and there was a high probability that it would begin leaking carbon monoxide, and they installed a furnace for me.

They were in and out in probably six hours. They cleaned up pretty well, they left a few pieces of sheet metal laying around, but not bad at all.
Description of Work: Four Seasons installed a new furnace and A/C for me. They tore out the old furnace and put in a new A/C and furnace. There wasn't an A/C unit there before.

They were very straight forward. They quote you after the initial fee. I called in the morning and they were there that afternoon. They were quick and did the work within two hours. They did a good job. They have 24 hour service.

When I turned on the humidifier for the heating system water came down through the vent fan in the bathroom ceiling over night. I have a two-flat and the unit with the problem is on the second floor. I went up into the attic at 5am where the heating and cooling system is located when I discovered the problem to see what was going on. The drain line for the humidifier and also air-conditioning was no longer draining the water and water was spilling out from where the run-off line from the humidifier goes into the drain line. I turned off the humidifier and water line to the humidifier then called Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning later that morning and told them exactly what the problem was. They said someone could be out to the house at 3pm that day. A service rep arrived just after 3pm looked at the problem and told me to call a plumber. Before he left I had him check and clean both furnaces of my two-flat. Four Seasons has installed a new furnace in the basement for the first floor unit, a new air conditioning compressor for the second floor and a hot water heater for the second floor over the passed 5 years. I though that it was odd that I was told to call a plumber, but I did. I paid Four Seasons $79 to be told to call a plumber for a problem with my heating and cooling system to have a plumber tell me to call a heating and cooling company? I called a different heating and cooling company and told them this story and they were very surprised what Four Seasons had told me. They suggested I call customer service at Four Seasons to see if I could resolve the problem, then was told if Four Seasons won't help they would be glad to resolve my draining issue. I called Four Seasons and spoke with "Don" in customer and his response was; "We didn't install the heater or humidifier call a plumber". That's it, that's their bright and intelligent customer service response! There is no customer service at this place. Their attitude is; customers, who needs them? Not us, especially long time customers! Their motto should be "Heating or cooling problem? No can do!" They should paint that on all their trucks. UPDATE: I clearly told them that the original installation company is currently out of business. Also the drain lines were never frozen and even if they were, they failed to mention this until after the report was filed. Also, the contractor who was at my home said that the problem was that the drain line lies too flat. This is inaccurate information in the SPs response.
Description of Work: Checked and cleaned two heating systems. Was told to call a plumber about the draining issue with the humidifier that I called to have fixed.

HE WAS ADVISED TO CALL A PLUMBER OR CALL THE COMPANY THAT INSTALLED THE EQUIPMENT. IT WAS TO HIS ADVANTAGE TO CALL OUT THE COMPANY THAT INSTALLED THE DRAIN IN HIS ATTIC. A HUMIDIFIER SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLED IN AN ATTIC BECAUSE THE ATTIC IS NOT HEATED. THE DRAIN LINES FROZE AND WE ADVISED HIM TO CALL A PLUMBER OR THE COMPANY THAT INSTALLED THE UNIT. THE COMPANY THAT INSTALLED THE EQUIPMENT WOULD HAVE COVERED THIS UNDER WARRANTY. SINCE THIS IS NOT OUR EQUIPMENT, WE WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE HIM. WE WOULD BE GLAD TO DISCUSS THIS WITH HIM IF HE FEELS OUR SERVICE CALL WAS NOT TO HIS SATISFACTION.

They were pretty close in price to another company but they had more people working for them so I thought if something did go wrong with the furnace they would be out there within hours of the phone call. They sent out two separate crews made up of two men a piece. They really did not start until about ten in the morning. I had expected them earlier, around seven thirty because if you are going to install a furnace of that size you may need more time. It was only supposed to take one day but I knew it would take more. I was not sure they technicians they sent were experienced. I am sure they were certified but I don't think he had a lot of experience with older homes. Both of the men were very nice and polite with my mother but I thought they should have started a lot earlier. That was my only negative issue. They did not start until after nine on both days. They did not install a chimney liner which was part of the contract and he said I did not need one. They did come back out and do that. They did a real nice job. I did think they should have sent out guys a little more experienced with older homes. They also damaged the floor moving the old furnace. They reimbursed us by giving us a cleaning. I would probably go with the other companies if I had to do it all over again.
Description of Work: I had them come out and replace my mom's furnace with central air. They also replaced a hot water heater and added a humidifier. We also got a free service package with the thermostat and an air cleaner.

They gave me an estimate and it turned out to be the low estimate. I had three others. The estimator was prompt and professional. The install team of two arrived at 10 A.M. and worked until 10 P.M. It was a sloppy and unprofessional install. There was a hole in the main ductwork and the filter cage had screws sticking out that tore the filter. The team was hardly a team. They argued about how long it was taking and at one point, put me in the middle of the argument. They left. After I inspected the next morning, I called and a service person was sent the next day. He patched the hole and kinda repaired the filter cage. I had my local inspector out to approve the installation. It failed the inspection for 4 reasons: holes, improper venting, filter cage, and failure to attach the cold air return. I called Four Seasons and a repair person was out the next day. He looked at the work that had to be done and said it would be better if the installers came back and properly completed the job. I requested that the same installers not be used. A new team of two was scheduled. The new install team arrived and properly completed the work in about 4 hours. The installation then passed inspection. The furnace and humidifier have been working fine for about 6 weeks now. It's too bad that the first team did not do a professional job. Four Seasons did follow-up and after 4 visits and about 18 hours of work everything is fine. They have a 15 year warranty on the furnace and a 12 year on the air, parts and labor. So because of the warranty and price, I would use them again.

In the Angie s list magazine there is a quarter page ad with a coupon and it says free service call with any furnace or a/c repair. It also says 19 point check up, furnace tune up for $79.95 and then right after that it says regularly it is $109.95. So I called because our furnace thermostat was not working and I asked them to repair that for the free service call. Then because I saw the service price for the tune up I asked them to do the 19 point furnace check up for our two furnaces. He came to the house and touched the thermostat and it came on and he left it, he didn t do anything else to it. He did not check or test it and then went right to work on the furnace tune ups. Then he processed to replace the humidifier filters. Even though there was a big sticker on them that shows I replaced them and what date I replaced them (he did ask my wife about this and she didn t think it through and said okay). In the case of the basement furnace he left a large mess on the floor and did not clean the floor. Then I looked at the bill and instead of the sale price of $79.95 or the regular price of $109.95 they charged me $119.95 for each or $40 more dollars than the catalog price. And they charged $35 each for the replacement of the humidifier filters, which I didn t ask for. I called and complained and they said that he mentioned the humidifier filters to my wife and they wouldn t take away that price and they would return the $80 over charge on the furnace tune ups. The only person that seemed apologetic at all was the lady in accounting whose name was Donna; there was really no apology from the manager or anybody else.

HE STATED THAT HE TWO COUPONS 1. FOR FREE SERVICE CALL 2. FOR CLEANING OF THE FURNACE FOR $79.95, I DID STATE THAT HE WAS ABLE TO USE ONLY ONE COUPON PER VISIT AND IT IS STATED IN THE ANGIE'S LIST BOOK ON PAG A-11. I ALSO POINTED OUT THAT THE TECHNICIAN DID NOT CHARGE HIM A SERVICE CALL SO THE CLEANING COUPON WOULD APPLY. GOING OVER THE INVOICE I DID NOTICE THAT THE MEMBER WAS CHARGE REGULAR PRICE OF $119.95 AND EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT I WOULD ISSUE A REFUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $80.00. (THE CUSTOMER HAD TWO CLEANINGS DONE ON TWO SEPARATE FURNACES) (THE REFUND IS ON IT'S WAY TO HIM.) WE THEN MOVED ON TO THE ONTHER CHARGES OF $35.00 EACH FOR TWO HUMIDIFIER FILTERS THAT WERE CHANGED AT HIS APPROVAL. BEFORE WE PERFORM ANY ADDITIONAL SERVICES/REPAIRS IT IS BROUGHT TO THE CUSTOMER'S ATTENTION FOR APPROVAL OR DENIAL. IN THIS CASE THE MEMBER APPROVED OF THE TECHNICIAN TO REPLACE THE FILTERS. HE STATED THAT HE CHANGES THE FILTERS HIMSELF AND HAS DOCUMENTATION ON THE UNITS AS WHEN HE HAS CHANGED THEM. HE STATED IS IS CHEAPER FOR HIM TO PURCHASE THEM HIMSELF FROM MENARD'S. REGARDING THE THERMOSTAT, THERE WAS NEVER MENTION OF THIS DURING MY CONVERSATION WITH HIM OR WHEN HE CALLED INTO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. HE DID STATE THE UNIT WOULD NOT TURN ON AND HE DID MENTION THE COUPONS. ALL OF OUR CALLS ARE RECORDED, AND WE HAVE LISTENED TO THE CONVERSATIONS. ALSO NOT MENTIONED IN MY CONVERSATION WITH THE MEMBER WAS THE MESS THAT WAS LEFT BEHIND. IF THIS HAD BEEN THE CASE AND OUR TECHNICIAN LEFT A MESS WE WOULD HAVE MORE THEN HAPPY TO SEND SOMEONE OUT TO CLEAN IT UP. IN CLOSING, HE WAS OVERCHARGED THE CLEANING PRICE AND THE REFUND HAS BEEN ISSUED BACK TO HIM. THE HUMIDIFIER FILTERS WERE APPROVED BY HIS WIFE AND THE CHARGES WILL REMAIN. HE WAS NOT PRESENT DURING THE CLEANING, HIS WIFE WAS HOME AT THE TIME AND PAID THE TECHNICIAN IN FULL. WE APOLOGIZE THAT HE WAS NOT HAPPY, AND OUR TECHNICIAN MADE THE MISTAKE AND NOT APPLYING THE COUPON PRICE OF $79.95 FOR EACH UNIT HE CLEANED. AS FAR AS WE ARE AWARE, THE UNITS ARE WORKING AND HEATING THE RESIDENCE.

Wow! From the beginning of dealing Walter, who came in and inspected our existing equipment, he never tried to over sell us and he told us our options up front, and even gave us multiple quotes on doing just the hot water heater to a full over hall of all the mechanicals...to the installers who were very patient with an inquisitive 3 year old who really just wanted to help, to Brian who just came out to inspect the work and make certain we were pleased with everything. I would recommend them in a heart beat...My only suggestion would be narrowing down their arrival windows. They gave us a 4 hour window on their arrival, and they were here within the time, but if they could narrow that down a bit...it would be nice.

We found them through Angie's List and they have been great. They have been wonderful. I meant to put in a report after the installation of our unit because of the problems but their response to the problems have been excellent and they have fixed everything.

Very positive experience. I had a repair company come out before to try to talk me into getting a new furnace, however Eric thought with these repairs, the furnace was in good working order, and I should have several years left on it. Overall, I will be comfortable calling them again. Excellent job.
Description of Work: My furnace needed repair-I had no heat. This prompted me to join Angie's List, since I didn't know of a good contractor, and didn't want to guess through the yellow pages. I called several companies and was able to get same day service from Four Seasons. Eric was the technician, and he quickly diagnosed the issue (involved 2 repairs). He was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He replaced one part immediately, which got the furnace working, and had to return since I needed an additional part which had to be ordered. I was expecting to wait a couple days for the additional part, but he came back the next morning with the part and installed it promptly.

I called them because I had a good experience with them the first time, but I didn't have such a good experience with them the second time around. I called Four Seasons to come out and service the four furnaces based on my positive experience. They booked it 5 weeks in advance and then they came out on the wrong day. They were extremely inflexible in doing the service.

My wife & I interviewed this company to replace our 18yr old A/C and Furnace. The rep came to see us on a Saturday morning around 8:30 am. He called before coming over. We got the feeling he was not happy to be working that morning, he seemed irritated about something. He walked us through information about replacement of both units. He inspected the existing equipment. He explained he had loads of experience from the technical side and was not on commission. We discussed the replacement equipment. I explained to him that we were looking at 2 other estimates before we would make a decision. In a huff, he hurriedly wrote a quote, packed up his papers and in an arrogant manner told us his company was the best and departed the house. Needless to say with that attitude, he's not getting the business. His price was also the highest. He has never called back to follow up.

Our boiler was originally installed by Four Seasons about 4 years ago, and the unit was now out of warranty. We use them to do our annual boiler cleaning and tune-up every year. We just noticed (In December 2008)that the boiler overflow tank had recently tilted over, dented in, and was resting down on the boiler unit with the potential to crack/fall off. Upon calling Four Seasons, they were out to our house within a few hours. I spoke with the technician and he estimated that this repair would be quite costly (over $700) because the warranty had expired. Upon further discussions with him regarding how this situation could have occurred, he sent a photo to his manager to get his opinion on the matter. They offered to replace the tank at NO CHARGE to us. They replaced the tank the next morning, securing it in a different, more secure manner. While replacing it, they noticed that the pressure/temperature gauge was not working properly, and offered to replace it and the pressure relief valve (also at no charge.) They actually had to have a third repair person come out that same evening to replace the gauge and valve. All of their service/installation personnel were friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and neat. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to see a company that stands by its' product and service! Technically, they did not have to offer this service/part for no charge, even if the part was possibly installed incorrectly four years ago. So that being said, I truly respect that they recognize that "making things right" may cost them some in the short-term, but that it will come back to them two-fold as far as keeping me as a loyal customer who will be able to refer them with confidence to my friends and neighbors--- and I will!

Service was very prompt (they arrived 1 hour after my initial call). The repairman- Rob G was very courteous. The $114.00 repair fee for changing some dip switches did seem a bit steep; however, he did correctly diagnose the problem and tested the AC unit. Overall I was very happy and would use them again.
Description of Work: In-Wall PTAC unit was not producing heat. Technician discovered that the valve to reverse the heat pump was not operational. Technician simply changed the unit to operate on electric heat only. As I had already confirmed online, heat pump systems are not meant for temps below 30- so simply turning off this feature and not repairing it was the correct choice.

I called Four Seasons to make an appointment and they were able to set it up for the next day. Gary was our salesman. He was punctual and very professional (he even took off his shoes before I asked!). He explained everything in detail and he was also able to show more than one option. We did get other estimates, but Gary's knowledge of the equipment and installation was very helpful. Another reason I decided to give Four Seasons my business is because of the guarantees and the peace of mind I was getting in my contract. The installers showed up on time, they were very professional. They put tarps down. They went over the install and went over the things Gary put on the contract. Both men on the job, Tom & Jim, cleaned up after themselves when the job was done. I highly recommend this company to anyone.

My overall experience went GREAT!!!!!
Description of Work: I first used this company for a service call, they were prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. A few months later in the dead of winter, our furnace went out and we decided to call 4 seasons. Their furnaces were a little pricey, but they offered a fantastic warranty and after-hour service. So we went with a York furnace and we are very happy.

Excellent, the individual that came to give us the estimate was very patient and knowledgeable. He helped us choose the system that was best for us both economically and comfort wise. The installers were professionally dressed and were more then happy to explain what they were doing whenever I asked. The icing on the cake was the follow up call we received from the estimator while the installation crew were installing the equipment and the call that evening to make sure we were completely satisfied.
