Four Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning

This is a review for services performed quite a while ago. I used an Angie's List coupon offer for this company. This is the same company that originally installed my heating and cooling system about 12 years ago.They were prompt, courteous, did a good job and showed up on time. Using the Angie's List coupon saved $30 off the price they normally charge.

On Saturday, 3/16/13, my furnace was to be cleaned however the technician noticed the heat exchanger was fractured. He gave me two options: replace that part or the whole unit. It was a marked difference of $1000, so I opted to replace the whole unit in order to avoid other parts wearing out as well. The installers came the next day (Sunday 3/17/13) and removed the old furnace and replaced it with a new furnace. The installers did not call before they came but showed up within the 3 hour window, so that was ok. They laid down tarp on the carpet but didn't always change out their shoe booties when they went to their truck and back into my house. Overall, the installation went fine and the unit is working. I didn't anticipate having to replace the unit because I thought I was just going to have it cleaned, so definitely an unexpected cost. However, I do have heat. I wasn't able to get other bids because most heating and air companies are on an emergency basis on the weekend and it would have probably cost a fortune. Four Seasons works around the clock and doesn't charge extra to come out and for that I am very grateful. They showed me how to use the thermostat and advised me about changing the filter monthly and servicing annually. They did a great job. Also, the warranty was doubled because I registered the warranty online. I would use them again.

They were professional, did their work, cleaned up, very courteous, punctual, and I was completely satisfied with their work. I have told my friends about them too.

I had been using Four Seasons for a while to service the furnace and air conditioner at my old condo, and they were fine for that. After purchasing a new place, a decent sized 2 bedroom condo, we had them come out for a maintenance check on the furnace. The technician came out and after looking at the unit he found that there was corrosion and a crack on the heat exchanger and that the air conditioning unit was bad. Unfortunately, due to my work schedule, the appointment was on a Friday at 4 pm and the temperature was predicted to be 15 degrees. (*As a side note if you ever plan this kind of maintenance do it in the morning early in the week. If a problem like mine should arise you will have time to get bids.*) Given the time and temperature, I didn't think I had many options available to me and so I went ahead and had them install a new furnace and air conditioning unit. What the maintenance guy sold me was an 80% efficiency 90,000 btu unit and lower efficiency 3ton ac unit. Having never purchased a new furnace I didn't know how much I should be paying nor did I have the time to get a second opinion given the day of week and time of day. On top of it, the technician made sure to remind me that the temperature was very cold and my pipes could burst. They originally quoted me a price at over $10,000 then acted like they were getting me a deal by decreasing it to $8,800. I kind of figured I was paying too much at $8,800, but I didn't know how excessive it really was. And I was not given an itemized list of charges that showed how they reached the total of $8,800. The following Monday I talked to my co-workers, who own homes and have replaced furnaces and ac units before, and I also spoke with other HVAC contractors and told them how much I paid. I diOVERPRICED AND HIGH PRESSURE. scovered that I probably PAID AT LEAST DOUBLE what I should have. Their pricing schemes are a scam as well. Their "no interest financing" is a joke. I had to finance this because I couldn't afford to write a check for $8,800. And their prices increase as the length of your financing term increase, so you don't pay interest but you'll be paying more with no benefits to paying off early. Paying cash costs less than any of the financing options, the salesman told me that the amount I would be financing was less than the cash price-giving me the impression I was getting a deal. I called them to complain and it took them 2 days to get back to me. When the operations manager, Rick, got back to me he placed me on speakerphone with the sales rep, Jeff. So they set up a nice 2 against one dynamic to try and convince me that they were a good value. At one point one of them even had to ask if it was making me uncomfortable. I replied sarcastically with a "Why would that make me uncomfortable," they either didn't get it or didn't care. I'VE HAD LOWER PRESSURE CONVERSATIONS WITH USED CAR DEALERS, and wound up paying less for the car than I did for my furnace and ac. And car sales people have the decency and capability to work alone. They tried to talk about what a great value they are and how many years of experience they had, which is great for them but I didn't see it. Over the course of this I asked for a detailed invoice to see what I paid for the units and for installation costs-as should be standard business practice. They refused. After a long conversation they told me they would be willing too reduce what I pay to match what would have been my payment if I had paid cash. When I pointed out that I thought that the amount of my installation was already less than the cash amount they started backpedaling and talking about their relationship with Lennox and how they set prices. It was a lot of double talk, fortunately there were 2 of them on the phone with me so they back up the other ones story. In the end, they offered me $900 off of what I paid and free service for the life of the unit, and asked if that would make me happy and continue using them as a service. I told them no. I have a rental unit that I will be replacing a furnace and ac on in the next year and I will find someone else. In addition I am recommending to my condo association that Four Seasons be taken off of our list of preferred vendors, telling everyone I know about my negative experience. If you have had a positive experience with them or use them for service, try and ask for a detailed invoice. See what they say. Overpricing like they do only occurs when a company can operate without competition and accountability. They take advantage of people in high pressure situations to make a profit and are secretive about their expenses. I made mistakes and hope others can learn from them. My recommendations: 1. Schedule maintenance for early morning, if there is a problem you can get other bids. 2. Ask for a detailed invoice before signing any agreement for service. 3. Avoid four Seasons at all costs!

Everything went very well. We even discovered a small problem, to prevent future damage due to leaking. Cutoff swirch installed.

Everything went very well. They showed up on time, were very careful in my new house, and described everything they would do. They asked all their questions up front and then went to work. I left them in the house unattended and they periodically checked in to let me know when they'd be done.

Was very professional, helpful and did not oversell. Explained all options and honestly agreed I could complete one of the tasks. Very positive experience.

After an in-home inspection, a variety of firm estimates were provided in detail. The estimator moved a little quickly for a novice so I advise you do some research in advance so you are familiar with the large volume of information being discussed. Even still, all the options, what they were composed, the differences, and the prices were all fully explained. The estimator was good about listening to our desires, goals and concerns and presenting the systems that best fit our overall conditions. There was no pressure or steering to a certain system, or up selling. The estimate appointment and installation schedule were all set up at times to meet our needs. On installation day, the techs showed up on time and went right to work. It took all day as expected and the tech's worked through breaks and lunch. Everything was explained and installation went smoothly. After the units were tested the techs, went over all the instructions, cleaned up, collected payment, and that was it. I did have a slight issue with payment processing, but that appeared to be a glitch in their new computer system. Once identified, it was cleared up immediately. I would say they met, or exceeded my expectations and I plan on using this business again for other projects.

Four Seasons arrived on time and did an excellent job. When one of the air conditioners was the wrong size (my fault), they measured, researched for the appropriate size, and made the adjustment. The servicemen were very pleasant and respectful.

We had the annual winter checkup performed on our heater in which it was discovered the condensate trap was bad. The gentleman was very professional and thorough. He arrived on time and worked efficiently. He had to order the part and had it the next day. There was very little interference to our schedule. We will use Four Season's again if need be.

We did get his service and he seemed to do a great job. I think, because it was a coupon it took a little bit of time to find a date to schedule if I remember it correctly bit for the most part when they came, they came on the time that they committed to come.

It was a seamless experience. These people have it down! They are punctual, professional, very knowledgeable, courteous, and go out of their way to make the entire experience easy. The sales person did a very, very good job of answering my hundreds of questions and was very good at explaining how heating and cooling works, what the differences are between systems and brands, etc. He gave me a comfort level which was not easy to do. The crew arrived at the appointed time, and went right to work. They worked steadily and efficiently all day and late into the evening. This was a very hard job, that included working on a ladder 20 feet in the air on a freezing cold day. Despite the hardships, the crew could not have been nicer and more pleasant. Installing a new furnace on the second floor of a house is a bit invasive. This crew was very neat and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. One week after the installation: the high efficiency furnace is a huge improvement on the old one. Needless to say, I would hire Four Seasons again, and have already recommended them to friends and neighbors. I was so impressed with the crew's work that I called the installation department the next business day to let them know how pleased I was.

It could not have gone any better. Price was way below another estimate. Prompt and courteous installers. They ran into an unexpected problem, but stayed with it for hours until they were able to resolve it. Although the problem was not their doing (sub ground basement that prevented routine exhaust) there was no additional charge. They made me aware of all the available rebates. New furnace has been operating perfectly. A five star rating is not high enough.

The salesman who came to our house listened to our needs and made very good recommendations. He did not try to oversell us. The installation crew showed up on time the day of the installation. They were efficient, clean and very helpful. After seeing the set-up for the furnace in our home, they made suggestions, including the best utilization of filters and even made a trip to the local Home Depot to get a different kind of filter for us. They walked us through everything we needed to know about the new furnace and thermostat. They left the space clean and intact, hauling away the old furnace. I received a call from Four Seasons to confirm that we were satisfied with everything the next day. Then about a week later, I received another customer service follow up to confirm that we were still satisfied. I mentioned that I felt the new furnace seemed louder than I had expected it to be. To my surprise, Four Seasons immediately set up a "no cost" service call. The technician came out and made some adjustments to see whether he could address my concerns about noise without reducing the efficiency of the furnace. He was able to do so. We have been very happy with our new furnace. Very good service, excellent products and outstanding customer service. Maybe you can pay less, but you won't get a better value.

I had an 8am appointment for a quote for a new furnace and A/C unit. The salesman was ontime and that's where the positive comments will end. The salesman took a quick look at our furnance, never went outside to look at the A/C unit, then started to brag about how great his company was and bad mouth the competition. When I asked about the prodcut offerings and prices, he told me that "It seems like you're early on in the process, once you figure out what you want, let me know and I'll put a quote together for you." He barely answered any questions and would not educate me at all about buying a furnace or A/C unit. They were horrible!

They were able to complete this in one day. They also consolidated all of the pipe drains. I was very pleased with their service.

We awoke to single digit temperatures outside this morning and low 60's in the house. After speaking to my home warranty company, they dispatched a company that's not open on weekends nor responds for emergencies. With the option to go outside my network, I found Four Season's available for service today. I called to explain my situation of needing to partner with my warranty company to Jennifer and she immediately assured me that it was no problem. She dispatched someone that came to my house within a reasonable time frame. Robert pulled up before his ETA and got straight to work. He was very nice and professional. He was able to tell us right away what the problem was. It turns out that the furnace just needed a good cleaning and to replace one of the igniters. He spoke to our home warranty company for approval, even though the service was declined he still offered us options. It took no time before we were up and running again! We will definitely be using this company going forward for all of our additional maintenance outside of our warranty.

I received a call 30 minutes before their arrival (which was on time). They then explained to me the entire process before they started. This included cutting two 12 inch diameter hole in the trunk vents in the basement for the vacuum (which had a HEPPA filter) They wore protective footware each time they stepped into the house. After they were done I was shown how they repaired the trunk vent holes (which can be taken off for the next time a cleaning is required). As of this review I am very pleased with the results. Even the dryer works more efficiently now.

I was very satisfied with them. They came and did what they were advertising and were on time and good. They did their thing and there was nothing unusual. I was happy and it was a perfectly adequate transaction. I did not feel like they tried to upsell me anything which I appreciated. For what I requested they did it perfectly and I was very satisfied with their service.

Overall, we were satisfied despite the unfortunate situation. Four Seasons is very punctual and performs the work quickly. They were able to replace the furnace and get our heat working again within the day. They were able to give me a good price on a new furnace on the spot. The only issues we had were some poor quality around some of the seam work, as well as a sloppy clean up job. However, after speaking with their quality control dept over the phone, they sent out another technician to assess the work and make sure everything was cleaned up. They also offered a credit on our next service call for the inconvenience.

The windows are so much better than the old ones at keeping out the cold, and they look very nice. I called Four Seasons to have three more windows replaced in the kitchen.

I would highly recommend Four Seasons. Justin came out and was extremely polite and professional. He was very patient and explained what he was doing along the way. We initially had them come out to fix a humidifier that was not working. He explained along the way what the issue was and helped educate me so i can fix it again in the future should this same issue arise. I had them do a full service cleaning on the furnaces as well, while he was there. Again, Justin was very patient and friendly. I am going to call them back for duct work cleaning and to install a UV filter. Again, Highly recommended.

I called Four Seasons out on a Friday night after the plumber I was using discovered that part of my exhaust pipe for the water heater and furnance was rusted and had a hole in the pipe. Dan from Four Seasons came out and found out that exhaust pipe was clogged and in return the furnance and exhaust pipe needed to be replaced. Dan was great in explaining everything in detail and letting us know our options. The next morning Charles and Elias our installers arrived on time and were also great. They worked fast but efficient since we had no heat and it was cold outside. During the process, Charles would have me come down to the basement to explain and show me things that caused the old furnance to break and was to not let this happen to the new one. Once they were done installing Charles explained everything they did in detail. They cleaned everything up and took the old exhaust pipe and furnance. Four Seasons made a really stressful situation much easier for my wife and I to handle. They were professional, honest, reliable and patient. I plan on using Four Seasons again for all my HVAC needs.
