This service was on rental property that I own out of state. the furnace was not working on a weekend (don't all furnaces breakdown on the weekend? ) The dispatched a technician on a Sunday evening who arrived as promised and quickly diagnosed the problem. They were able to schedule the repair for the next day and coordinated between myself as the customer and the tenant. The price was a little high but not extraordinary considering the prompt response. The day after the repair, the tenant reported that the furnace was either not working again or still not working. I called and they dispatched someone out immediately. Initially I was told there would be a service call charged for the service but I protested and the charge was removed. It was unclear to me if additional work was required or not but there was no charge for the additional service and no additional complaints from the tenants. I have used 4 seasons in the past to do a full house system replacement on another investment property. They were the low bid and did the work in a timely manner. The duct work was done with flex duct instead of sheet metal which lowered the price and was adequate for this application in a starter home. I would hire them again and recommend them to neighbors and friends.
Description of Work: Furnace was not working...diagnosed motor problem and replaced.

THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WAS FANTASTIC FROM THE WOMAN WHO TOOK OUR CALL, TO THE INSTALLER (GUS) WHO INSPECTED THE PROBLEM WITH OUR LEAKING HOT WATER TANK. SHORTLY AFTER WE CALLED THE PROBLEM INTO THE DISPATCHER AND SET UP THE APPOINTMENT SHE CALLED US BACK. REASON WAS BECAUSE AN AREA WERE THE T&P VALVE WAS AT ON THE TOP OF THE HEATER WAS MELTED AND CAUSING WATER TO LEAK, AND SHE CALLED TO ALERT US TO SHUT OFF THE GAS LINE TO THE HEATER FOR CONCERNS OF IT CAUSING THE VALVE TO BURST BEFORE THEY GOT THERE TO INSPECT IT. TURNS OUT THE PREVIOUS CONTRACTOR WHO INSTALLED THE UNIT, ACTUALLY DID SO INCORRECTLY AND OUT OF CODE, WHICH ULTIMATELY CONTRIBUTED TO THE VALVE TO MELT AND LEAK. GUS SAID HE COULD REPAIR IT, BUT THE FIX WOULD BE SHORT-TERM (2 YEARS AT THE MAX), SO WE ENDED UP REPLACING OUR 14 YEAR OLD WATER HEATER. HE CALLED A COLLEAGUE AT THE WAREHOUSE, WHO IMMEDIATELY GOT THE HOT WATER TANK TO OUR HOUSE, AND IN A SHORT TIME WE HAD OUR HOT WATER BACK. GUS MADE SURE THEY TARPED THE AREAS SO NOT TO CAUSE ANY DAMAGE WHEN BRINGING IN THE NEW UNIT AND TAKING OUT THE OLD ONE. THEY EVEN TOOK THE OLD UNIT AWAY WHICH IS NOT WHAT OUR PREVIOUS PLUMBER DID. GUS WAS VERY PLEASANT AND THOROUGH TO ANSWER ALL OF QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS ABOUT THE WORK HE DID TOO, WHICH WAS TERRIFIC. GUS ALSO LOOKED AT OUR MAIN WATER SHUT-OFF WHICH WE THOUGHT NEEDED REPLACEMENT, BUT HE SHOWED US THAT THERE WAS A SECOND BACK-UP SHUT OFF THAT WAS ACTUALLY BETTER TO USE, AND WORKED FINE SO NO NEED TO REPAIR IT. WE HAD USED FOUR SEASONS FOR OUR AIR CONDITIONER, WHICH AS A GREAT EXPERIENCE, AND GLAD TO SAY THAT USING THEM FOR OUR PLUMBING NEEDS, WAS EQUALLY GREAT AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEM FOR OUR FURNACE CLEANING IN THE FALL TOO!

The woman who answered the phone had no idea what I was talking about and had to put me on hold to find out if they did that type of work. She came back and said that if they didn't initially install the system they couldn't help me over the phone. She told me I needed to schedule maintenance and at that time the technician would be able to see what type of system I had and woud be able to suggest what we would need. I find it very frustrating when a company has someone answering phones who is not knowledgeable about their services. I also find it hard to believe that they couldn't help me over the phone, that I needed to schedule maintenance rather than just providing the brand and model # of my system.
Description of Work: My call to Four Seasons was regarding having a whole house air purifier installed on my HVAC system.

The technician spent approximately 55 minutes checking out the A/C and nailed the problem, even though he didn't fix anything on his end. Found the source of our A/C not working.
Description of Work: Technician was able to troubleshoot our A/C problem accurately. He determined it was actually a Com Ed issue after a complete systems check.

The 'annual maintenance' was fine. Roberto was punctual, pleasant, efficient and thorough. I chose the highest quality filter although Roberto made clear that the standard-quality filter was much cheaper. Cost of filters $202. The 'consultation' was for a banging in our hot-water radiator system. The radiators and piping are 100 years old; the boiler was replaced in 2009. William forced the system into service (it wasn't the Heating season!) but the banging did not occur. We discussed ways to diagnose the problem when the Heating season returns. William performed an 'annual maintenance' on the boiler ($140) instead of charging for 2 hours of consultation. I feel confident with all the Four Seasons technicians we have dealt with.
Description of Work: Two services, two different technicians, both excellent. #1 was 'annual maintenance' of our forced air A/C & heating system which Four Seasons installed in 2010. #2 was consultation for an issue with a hot-water heating system installed by a different company.

everything went fine upto the installation. The guys installing the humidifer unit were definitely not experienced enough. They were reading manuals while doing the job on how to wire etc !!!! After they left , my AC servicing guy pointed out that they had cut the drain line for AC and closed it. They took water for humidifier by punching hole in closest water line instead of taking ot from water heater per code(I found out later) They came back to open the drain line when I called and admitted the mistake but considering I paid them almost twice of what I paid other co. for my second humidifer , I think it was a bad experience overall. Don't think will ever cal them again as it looks like a toss up if you get a qualified service man or not.

I used them for years and years, including putting a furnace and A/C unit in our home. This time, however, it took them a week to get it right. They visited 4 or 5 times and could not fix the issue. I had a water mess from when a pipe unfroze as well as a frozen unit outside. They were able to get it fixed, but when I gave them another chance to come out and service it the following season it was a total disaster. They did not have the necessary parts and screwed me around the entire day they were here.
Description of Work: We had them out to replace and then to service our A/C unit.

Previous history: On 12/03/2011 Four Seasons installed a condensation pump. The technician said that this condensation pump was under warranty for 2 years and if I had any problems to call and they will replace it at no charge including labor. Eighteen months later, on 6/24/13, this condensation pump failed to work and water ended up on my floor. I called and informed Customer Service that the condensation pump that they installed on 12/3/11 was not working and that this pump was still under warranty. They said they would send a technician out tomorrow afternoon to replace it. The next day the Technician arrived at 5pm and informs me that he has to charge me $85 before he can even look at the condensation pump. I informed him that the Technician who installed this condensation pump said the warranty was good for two years. I asked him if Four Seasons stands behind their warranties? This technician stated that this pump is only under warranty for 1 year, not 2 years. Luckily I had saved the small box that this pump came in and I pointed to the writing on the box where it says that this pump has a 2 year warranty. He was surprised that I had saved the box and he could not refute was was boldly written on the box, however, he said he still had to charge me an $85 diagnosis fee. I said obviously the pump isn't working since the water overflowed on my floor and I had to clean it up. He said he would still need me to initial his work order form charging me $85 but then he would waive this $85 fee if he has to replace the condensation pump.....so I did this. After one minute of looking at the condensation pump (while I was standing there) he said the motor in the pump isn't working. Then he said he has to call his Supervisor and went out to his truck to have a private conversation. Upon his return he informs me that he has to charge me $180 labor charge but the pump is free since it is under warranty. I informed him that it only takes 5 minutes to install this pump and that the Technician who installed it said there would be no labor charge. He replied that is what his Supervisor told him and that if I did not agree to this $180 labor fee then he would still have to charge me the $85 diagnosis fee. I informed him again that I am an Angie's List member and that in my opinoin that this is extortion!!! He remained firm so I told him to go ahead and it install it (it was very hot and humid out and I wanted to turn my air conditioner on). After getting a new condensaton pump it took him 5 minutes to install it. I presented him with my $35 Four Season's coupon which he refused to honor so I told him I wanted to talk to his Manager. Again he went out to his truck to make his call. My cell phone rang and it was Customer Service, not his Manager. I had to explain this whole thing all over again and that Four Season's should not be charging me anything since this pump was still under warranty and it only took 5 minutes to install. She said they would honor the $35 coupon but that was all. This Customer Service woman was aware that I was an Angie's List member and I was not happy. P.S. The Technician would not leave me the old condensation pump and also wanted the box it came in. The very next day I received a follow-up call from Four Seasons and I told her what happened to me. She asked me wait 2 days, until Friday, before writing up my comments on Angie's List....she promised their Customer Service Dept. would call me back on Friday. I have now waited over one week and still have not heard from Customer Service hence this write up. This was a horrible experience and because of it Four Season's will not be getting my future business, nor my family and friends business either. It is also my opinoin that Angie's List should not be giving this company a green ribbon service award. Buyer beware! Update: After writing this review, 7/5/13,...the Four Seasons company called me the next day and said they were sending my written comments from Angie's List up to their Executive Management Dept. and they would call me back on Monday, 7/8/13. They did call me on Monday and they agreed to return the $145 fee that they charged me.

When our air conditioner stopped cooling last summer, we had Four Seasons come out to look at it. The technician did not spot any obvious leaks, so we had him come back to do a leak test. The technician found a leak, fixed it and recharged our AC with freon. The unit worked for a few weeks, then started to struggle to cool the house, but by then it was the start of fall so we stopped using it. Flash forward to earlier this year, 2013, when it started to get hot again. By now, when we tried the AC, it was again just pumping hot air, so we had Four Seasons come back. They agreed to do another leak test without charging for it, which I think was very professional on their part, but the technician claimed to be unable to find a leak. At this point, he recommended we replace the unit entirely and run a new line, for a total estimated cost of $4200. We decided to get another opinion, so I scheduled an appointment with an HVAC technician recommended by my father, who is a general contractor (I probably should have asked for his recommendation to begin with!) This tech came out and instantly spotted a huge leak in the indoor coil; he didn't understand how Four Seasons could have missed it. We scheduled him to come out and replace the coil, for a total cost of $900. I'm not sure what happened or why the Four Seasons technician didn't spot the leak, but I find it to be a questionable business practice that he immediately jumped to trying to sell us a whole new unit when it turns out our unit is perfectly fine.

Every company runs into problems. What separates the good from the bad is how they address these issues. I was impressed with four season response to the change in scope. They originally quoted a ductless system; but, when it became apparent that this could not be installed safely they worked up a quote for a ducted central air system. Although I was disappointed that they could not install the ductless system; I was impressed by their commitment to their employee's safety. The new quote was very reasonable, I had several other quotes for a similar system from other vendors so I know they were trying to make up for the false start. the installation of the ducted system went well the workers were friendly, knowledgeable, dedicated. My one complaint is that the job took longer than they told me in the revised estimate. As a result I had to ask for additional time off from work during the installation. I would have much preferred an accurate estimate up front. But overall I was very satisfied, would use them again, and I will/would recommend them to a friend.
Description of Work: I contacted Four Seasons to install a ductless A/C system and I was given a quote for the system. Unfortunately when the installer came, they could not figure our a way to install it safely due to the height of unit and the proximity of the other buildings. Four Seasons then worked out a deal with me to install a central air system

They were very professional about it. They did a good job. I was happy with what they did. They were good for what they did and it wasn't a happy moment but they were really good and they were telling the truth and they were correct. We had a good experience with them but we ended up buying a unit from another company. I felt like they were too expensive for the new furnace, they were fine for the yearly maintenance.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for Four Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning. It was 54% off on 20 point fall tune up for furnace. They came in and found that we truly needed a new furnace that our old furnace was unsafe.

I should mention that the previous Spring's install of the replacement Central Air system was a tough one, with the technicians working outside in the rain and doing what looked like a pretty difficult retro-fit to our existing upstairs furnace. The workers are all motivated and helpful if you have any questions. With regard to the furnace install, we had a problem with one of the heating vents going into the bathroom (not enough room for a wall vent). The installer reviewed our options with us and suggested putting in a floor vent, and, after we agreed, did a really nice job putting in a high quality floor vent, which required him to cut thorough a tile floor. As with all their skilled tradesmen, he cleaned up after himself. Can't say enough good things about these guys, they are our HVAC people forever. We also had them do a heating duct cleaning on our upstairs furnace. Good, solid company.
Description of Work: Our furnace was due for replacement (installed over 20 years ago). We contacted Four Seasons because they had done a really outstanding job replacing our central air conditioning unit the previous spring. Got a quote, financing, and installation.

UPDATE: After speaking with a representative from Four Seasons and voicing my displeasure with being charged an $85 mandatory charge despite no work being done, the representative refunded me my $85. I appreciate the willingness of Four Seasons to correct the issue and am completely satisfied with their response. After correcting the issue, it is very clear that customer service is important to Four Seasons and I would consider using them in the future based on their responsiveness to my situation.

During the installation testing, I noticed the pressurization readings were low. Asked the technician why it was, and he showed me a card that showed the reading was at the very low end of spec. Got distracted and they finished up rapidly. Called a few days later when the new unit was not cooling effectively. Senior technician came a day later to observe nothing and play interference. Regular tech came today, did a full inspection and put in a pound more of refrigerant to get it up to spec. He also patched up airflow leaks around the coil with caulk and silver tape that should have done the first time. If it weren't for my intervention, I wouldn't have gotten a properly operating system. For the money I was charged, this was shabby service at best if not plain swindling. Stay away from this monolith and make sure to get multiple quotes. Update - Four Seasons offered free maintenance for five years based on my complaint, and as a result I've upgraded my rating.
