Four Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning

tallers arrived as scheduled to replace furnace and airconditioner. The job took a full two days to complete and was delayed due to unanticipated need to reroute the furnace exhaust to the rear of the building which was nearly 40' long. Better communication between the sales staff and installers regarding local building codes would have expedited the installation. The company went out of the way to deliver portable heaters to help keep us comfy while the work was being completed. The price for the project could not be beat by other competitors and the added Nicor/Edison/Lenox rebates made the decision easy. Our home is now more comfortable and re efficient.

They cleaned the ducts. I think it was a job well done.

Set up appointment for them to install a new hvac system. 2 younger guys showed up high as a kite and I called Management to report them. Management then sent over more senior people to do the job. They said it would be 5 hours with no heat. It turned into 18 Hours with no heat thus resulting in my 10 month old to grow sick.

After a month and a half of trying to get my unit fixed with another HVAC company who shall remain nameless and service is absolutely dispicable, 4 Seasons came to my rescue. This was not a unit that they worked on most often but the were able to help me out regardless. They were extremely professional. They had a couple very good repairmen who specialized in fixing these type of units. They were able to fix my unit even after the previous company didn't put it back together right and I didn't even have my manual. They were prompt in answering my calls and were always punctual and on time. I very much appreciate this because I have had so many bad experiences that when I come across a great company, I just have to give them a shout out! I have used them in the past and I don't know why I didn't call them initially but I'm glad I did. These guys are the only company I will be calling on for repairs in the future and they have my highest recommendation.

Performed annual 20+ point fall furnace tune-up on our old boiler. They arrived on time, with good communication and great service. Would use again!

Provider's service didn't provide furnace cleaning, and did not provide cleaning my a/c coil. Provider did not package their services in order for me to make an informed choice of what I was getting for my money. A/C coil is still not cleaned. Don't know who to go for that service.

It took a lot longer then expected.

All went well. The technician was on time and professional. He didn't try to sell me new parts or scare me into thinking I'd need a new furnace soon (even though ours is getting quite old). I really appreciated that.

My furnace was not working day after thanksgiving. They answered the call at 7 am and set up a time for later that day. The repair man came, found the problem, went to get a part and the furnace was working three hours after he came. Answered questions, gave advice on keeping maintenance. Friendly and professional. Cost was high but explained.

Our unit was working well, but it was old. Might last another week, or another 5 years, and probably operating at about 60% efficiency. They came out, recommended a smaller size than what we had, answered my wife's questions, and left the quote. We were concerned about the recommended size, about 35-40% smaller than the current unit, but this was consistent with other quotes. 3 of the 4 quotes specified this size. They came on the scheduled day, removed the old equipment, and installed the new equipment. They cleaned up after themselves and everything worked fine. The older, larger unit seemed to overshoot the set temperature, but the system works well at keeping us warm, with less variation, and we are looking to seeing lower bills this winter. That, and not wondering if this would be the day that it died.

I did receive a call from customer service about the concerns / issues I had below. After several calls back and forth with the customer service team (very little frustration in doing so), we were able to reach an agreement on what was considered "fair" for the services rendered in November. Since the cost was adjusted, so was the grade for cost and overall service. The old post: Overall cost = FOUR times the cost of replacement parts. ARE YOU JOKING? | |First and foremost, the repairman did everything required. Going into the service call, I knew it was the main blower motor that needed replacing and his diagnostic confirmed that. No issue there. | |While waiting 8.5 hours for the service man to arrive, I had plenty of time to look into the cost of replacement parts. Conclusion: no more than $180 for the main blower motor. I wasn't comfortable with the wiring, so going with a service call was definitely the way to go. | |When I was told by the repairman that "the book" said he had to charge $658 for the part and install of the blower motor, I was floored. Since I had waited the entire day for them to arrive and the air temp was already down to 55 degrees, I had no choice but to accept this indifferent option (he pretty much had this take it or leave it attitude). | |The breakdown: |The part that was installed $148 (catalog number 5460 from www.usmotors.com) |The install time: 18 minutes. By my math, that's $28 per MINUTE ((658 - 148) / 18) .

Technician came to the house to diagnose why our furnace was not heating our second story. He was extremely professional, walked me through and explained everything so that I now have a clear understanding of what needs to be done and what my options are. When we pursue fixing the issue, I'll be calling Four Seasons back!

I'm afraid it did not go well. I don't understand why this company refuses to give written quotes at the location before they leave the home. But, Four Seasons refused to provide me with a written quote during their initial visit. Worse, the gentleman who visited my home told me that he'd snail-mail me the quote within a few days. I'd have to wait as long as a week to receive my formal quote. On this same day, several other companies provided me with specific written quotes before they left my home. Four seasons verbal quote was higher than the two formal quotes that I received. However, since I didn't have the HVAC specifications from Four Seasons, I was unable to compare the HVAC specifications from the other two companies with the HVAC specifications for Four Seasons. Consequently, I could not seriously consider the price differences until I received a formal quote from Four Seasons. Rather than wait until later in the following week to receive the formal quote from Four Seasons, I called the Four Seasons gentleman who provided me with the non-binding quote. We exchanged phone messages. In my message, I asked him to provide me with the specifications of the HVAC unit that he informally quoted me so I could make a fair comparison with my two formal quotes. He left me a message to call him back. At this point, I decided to wait for his formal quote to be mailed to me rather than continue to exchange phone messages. I expected to receive his quote late in the following week. However, I never received his quote. For reasons I don't understand, he interpreted my phone message to mean that I didn't want him to mail me the quote he promised. To the contrary, I wanted to know the detailed specification of his quote. But, the gentleman did not mail me the quote. When I called back to ask why I hadn't received my formal quote, the gentleman told me he assumed I didn't want a quote, since I hadn't called him back. I didn't understand why he would make that conclusion. I hadn't expressed dissatisfaction with his informal quote. I just wanted to understand the differences in specifications among the three competing companies that could explain the price differences among these companies. During our conversation, the gentleman appeared to become defensive. Even after this telephone conversation, he never seemed to understand that I was merely trying to learn about the specifications of his HVAC unit. I tried to explain my position by giving him a hypothetical situation. But he seemed to treat my hypothetical situation as if it was a literal critique of his informal quote. For heaven's sake, I didn't know enough information about his informal quote to critique it. The tenor of the conversation never improved. At the end of the conversation, I decided that it was best that I remove Four Seasons from consideration. It was a bad experience.

The technician who came to the house was perfectly good and knew his business. The problem was with the office. I knew exactly what our issue was: we needed new valves put on our radiators. I scheduled a service call and asked the person in the office if we could have the valves put on during that service call. I was assured that the technician's truck would have the appropriate valves and that this could be completed. When the technician arrived, he explained that he never carries that type of equipment on the truck. So basically it was a wasted trip that cost $85 and accomplished nothing. UPDATE: I have been told that they will refund the $85 service fee. If this is true (it hasn't happened yet), then it eliminates the principal annoyance of the needless visit and changes my opinion about the company. Still, I hope that they improve communication with customers about what their technicians can and cannot do when they visit.

Replaced boiler for residential hot water heating system. Salesperson was very informative and helpful. I had a very old, large boiler that needed to be taken apart to get it out of the basement. It had been leaking and had created a mess in my basement. The 2 person crew from Four Seasons replaced pipes and valves during the installation and then did a great job of cleaning up. This was all done on a Sunday @ no extra charge. I would recommend them and use them again.

They gave me an appt. the same day I called. The serviceman, Dave Vargas, called within 45 minutes of arrival. He was courteous, got right to work, and verified my 15% discount with the manager. I was impressed with his efficiency and I would call again as well as tell my friends about this company. There was a follow up phone call from the office verifying that the work had been done to our satisfaction...which it had.

Estimator perfection; very well arrived; polite, clean & fast; Windows and installation done very well.

Better than expectations! I called around 8-8:30 and a technician was at my house by 10:00, very punctual and responsive. The technician was very thorough in discovering why the furnace was not working. He took the time to answer all of my questions as I moved here from Texas last year, bought a house, and not familiar with what I have or furnaces in general He even showed me that I have a humidifier, turned it on for me, showed me how to turn it off and on and adjust it. So nice!! Thorough, quick, and very professional. I would highly recommend this company to any of my friends and will now be calling them for seasonal check-ups.

Unfortunately, our unit was vandalized and stripped of the copper wiring and other materials. A police report was filed and I contacted my insurance to file a claim. I received 3 quotes and one of those quotes came from Four Seasons. They weren't necessarily the lowest in the beginning but they were willing to work with me. They have a great warranty program, which we actually had to use when we called them back a few months later due to a bad thermostat. The woman who answered the phone was so friendly and accommodating. They were out the next day to fix the thermostat and so far everything has been great! I'm really very glad that I decided to go through Angie's List and found Four Seasons. I would highly recommend their service.

Stan and Oscar were on time very polite. We had flooded and had a very old system gravity heat. When we flooded the duct work was thrown away. The water was up to the rafters. We got estimites. Four season were not the cheapest but we went with them. We have had the system for about a week now and the work they did was professional. Stan takes pride in his work from what we saw. After they were done it took about 7 or 8 days to complete. They cleaned up. So far we are happy.

Replaced the HVAC overnight. Cleaned up afterwards and followed up with a call to schedule the village inspection. |I also called Four seasons to clean the ducts. As always, on time, on budget and cleaned up afterwards. |Would use their services again.

Inspected furnace and cleaned ducks

Four seasons installed my new York furnace in 2006. The furnace was not properly installed as the two stage blower was not properly engaging, and the cooling was initially insufficient. It took techs 2 trips to correct that issue. I also paid for a yearly summer inspection and cleaning, but the tech did not fully inspect or properly clean the air conditioner coils. Shortly afterwards the air conditioner would not blow cold air. The call center rep told me I would have to pay for the follow up service call (even though there was a guarantee). The representative also accused me of not changing filters causing the air conditioning coil failure (icing up). It turned out to my fault - the insulation in the duct work came loose and was blocking air flow over the coil. No apologies for their accusations, and it seemed they were looking for an excuse to charge me rather than provide the proper service they "guarantee". I am surprised with their A rating. Never will use them again.
