Auto Transmission Service
The transmission in our 2001 Honda Odyssey was starting to go bad. We've had this car since it was new and it was a College graduation gift to our son 9 months ago. He is now living in Chicago (I'm in California) and I felt it was my obligation to get it fixed and done right. I spent many many hours on the phone talking to repair shops, looking at reviews on Yelp and other sites, ( including AngiesList which had nothing)
After talking with Jimmy Dugan, (referred by an auto shop I found online that was very favorably reviewed) I had a good feeling. He was straightforward, and knowledgeable. We discussed all my options, including getting a refurbished transmission with a national warranty . I also made a number of other calls to other transmission shops. Pretty hard to tell exactly over the phone what you will get, and the quotes were a little less than Dugan's. But, I decided to go with who I felt the best with and I'm glad I did.
Jimmy got the job done BEFORE he promised it, for LESS than he quoted AND had did not charge me for the cost of a transmission cooler that was supposed to be free with the refurbished transmission I wanted installed. He even made sure to use and document Honda Transmission oil to make sure the warranty was valid (3 years , 100k miles) should there ever be a problem and even if the car is not in Chicago.
I don't typically write reviews for any website, but felt someone should know where to turn in Chicago for a new Transmission.
Even my son, when he picked up the car, commented. "Dad, I liked that guy, thanks a lot and you picked the right shop"
