"Dear AL Member....thank you for posting your review of our inspection service. We understand that buying a home is one of the more stressful procedures we go through in our modern world. Weddings, colonoscopies, and root canals are some of the other stressful life events which can be anxiety inducing and expensive. We try to get our inspection reports written and sent out asap but the issues we report on can be complex and therefore they need to be properly documented and narrated; that takes time. We like to tell clients that our work is more 'due deliberation' than 'snap judgement'. Some inspectors will provide a checklist report to their clients immediately after the inspection. While that certainly satisfies the client's desire for quick reporting, those reports are often lacking in detail, don't reflect sober research, and seldom provide a the desired level of detail. Long after you've forgotten how long it took to get your report you'll be referring to that document for the information you need to take your home from Point A (it's current condition) to Point B (it's optimal condition). "Hi Sabine....you're willingness to provide Angie's List members with your review of our service is most appreciated. Thank you. I hope this doesn't appear as a quibbling comment but I must say that I'm a bit confused by your 'C' grade in the pricing category. One of our biggest challenges as a business is communicating to our 'price shoppers' that there is a big difference between Price and Value. Yes, you could have saved $50 or even $100 on your inspection by calling another, perhaps less qualified inspector, but fortunately you did not. The repairs that the seller made after seeing our detailed report (which contained photos, citations, and example diagrams) should have made the slightly higher price of our inspections pretty much irrelevant if you focused on Value instead of Price. The high level of professionalism that our inspectors bring to our work, coupled with the extra time we take writing our reports, are the Value Add-ons that exemplify the difference between our service and that of most of our competitors. You and I have had several email exchanges regarding conditions at your new home since we did your inspection. We love those emails and phone calls because we want to be your life-long, 'go-to' resource for all questions and concerns you may have about your home. That's why we charge a smidgen more and that's why we're worth it!"
