I DEALT WITH BOB TURK. HE CAME TO OUR HOME & TOOK AN EXISTING THERMOSTAT OFF TO VIEW IT. HE ALSO DISCUSSED INSTALLING A HUMIDIFIER. THE EST. WAS FAXED TO ME AND WAS A LUMP SUM QUOTE FOR ALL WORK. I ASKED BOB TO BREAK IT OUT, I.E., PARTS, LABOR, AND HE RE-FAXED W/JUST THE SEPARATE LUMP SUM COSTS FOR EACH JOB; APPROX. $4,000 FOR HUMIDIFIER AND $700 FOR TWO THERMOSTATS. I DECLINED THE HUMID., BUT CONTINUED TO DISCUSS THE THERMS. THE $700 SURPRISED ME SINCE THE THERMOSTATS WE DISCUSSED RAN ABOUT $125 EA. (WHICH I KNEW B/C I LOOKED ON INTERNET; BOB DID NOT DISCLOSE) I ASKED HOW MUCH LABOR WAS & BOB SAID $80/HOUR. I SAID THAT I DID NOT THINK IT WOULD TAKE 5 HOURS TO INSTALL THERMOSTATS. HE WAS QUIET AT 1ST AND THEN SAID IF IT TOOK LESS TIME, HE'D TAKE SOME $ OFF AFTER JOB WAS OVER. DESPERATE, I AGREED & STAYED HOME FROM WORK SO 2 INSTALLERS COULD DO THE JOB. THEY TOOK OFF THERMO. & SAID COULD NOT INSTALL NEW THERMS B/C WRONG TYPE. OUR BLDG ENGINEER INSTALLED OTHER THERMS IN 1 HR.
Description of Work: I WANTED TO HAVE TWO THERMOSTATS REPLACED. IN THE END, I DID NOT LET DELJO COMPLETE THE WORK.

THEY WERE VERY NICE AND FRIENDLY ON THE PHONE, AND I REALLY WANTED TO LIKE THIS COMPANY BECAUSE ALL OF THEM SEEMED SO PROFESSIONAL IN HOW THEY TALKED TO ME, BUT THEY ENDED UP NOT CLEANING ONE OF MY FURNACES. WHEN I CALLED THE OWNER, HE SAID "OH YES, WE DID CLEAN IT." I CALLED THEM BACK AFTER HAVING ANOTHER COMPANY LOOK AT IT, AND THE OWNER DID ADMIT THAT THEY HADN'T CLEANED IT AND OFFERED TO REFUND THE PRICE FOR CLEANING THAT FURNACE. I HADN'T RECEIVED A CHECK SO I CALLED BACK, HE SAID HE FORGOT AND THAT HE WOULD SEND IT. HE ENDED UP SENDING A CHECK FOR ALL THREE FURNACES. THEY SEEM VERY DISORGANIZED.

THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY PLEASANT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. HOWEVER, THERE WAS SOME SCHEDULING CONFUSION. I REQUESTED A TIME CHANGE AND THE PERSON I DEALT WITH OVER THE PHONE FORGOT TO ENTER THE NEW TIME ON THE SCHEDULE, SO THE TECHNICIAN SHOWED UP IN THE MORNING (WHEN WE WEREN'T HOME) INSTEAD OF THE AFTERNOON. HOWEVER, AS SOON AS THEY REALIZED WHAT HAPPENED, THEY SENT SOMEONE OUT AGAIN THAT SAME AFTERNOON. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

BOB TURK WAS OUR SALESMAN FOR THE JOB AND WE CHOSE DELJO BECAUSE OF HIM. THE OTHER TWO COMPANIES WE LOOKED AT NEVER FOLLOWED UP AND THEIR SALES PITCHES LACKED SUBSTANCE. BOB REALLY TOOK HIS TIME WITH ME AND MY SPOUSE. INSTALLATION TOOK PLACE ON THE DAY PROMISED, AND ONLY TOOK TWO DAYS TO COMPLETE. THE TWO INSTALLERS WERE PROFESSIONAL AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THEIR WORK. MY ONLY COMPLAINT MIGHT BE THAT THEY DID NOT OBTAIN THE NECESSARY PERMITS TO INSTALL THE A/C AND SO THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION AS TO WHERE THE A/C UNIT WAS TO BE PLACED AROUND MY HOME. ALSO AN ELECTRICIAN FRIEND INFORMED ME THAT THE COMPRESSOR IS TOO CLOSE TO THE ELECTRIC BOX. IF EVER INSPECTED THAT MAY BE PROBLEMATIC. OVERALL A GOOD EXPERIENCE. I'D USE THEM AGAIN.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! THE TECHNICIAN WAS ON TIME, VERY NICE, AND HELPFUL. I TOLD HIM THAT I KNEW OF ONLY A FEW MINOR THINGS TO LOOK FOR WHEN TROUBLE SHOOTING A FURNACE AND ASKED HIM IF HE COULD TEACH ME ANY MORE. WE HAD BRUCE COME AND SERVICE OUR HUMIDIFIER. THE ''SADDLE PATCH'' VALVE WAS STUCK AND HE REPLACED IT WITH A NEW, BETTER DEVICE. HE DID A FINE JOB. THAT SAME NIGHT, HOWEVER, WE SMELLED GAS AND ASSUMED THAT PERHAPS IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WORK THAT BRUCE HAD DONE IN OUR FURNACE ROOM. WE CALLED DELJO'S EMERGENCY SERVICE AS WELL AS THE GAS COMPANY. THE FOLKS FROM THE GAS COMPANY CAME AND DID ALL KINDS OF TESTS AND DISCOVERED NO LEAKS. THEY SAID THE PRESSURE IN OUR GAS LINES WAS FINE TOO. DELJO'S EMERGENCY CREW NEVER SHOWED OR CALLED. HOWEVER, I CONTACTED DELJO THE NEXT DAY AND THEY WERE QUITE APOLOGETIC. THEY SENT TOM RIGHT OUT. WE STILL HAD A GAS SMELL AND TOM IMMEDIATELY NOTICED IT. AS IT TURNS OUT, THERE WAS A BIG LEAK FROM OUR DRYER HOSE. SOMEHOW PEOPLE'S GAS MISSED IT. TOM GOT AND INSTALLED A NEW HOSE FOR US. HE ALSO FINISHED ADJUSTING OUR HUMIDIFIER SO THAT IT TURNS ON AT THE SAME TIME AS OUR BLOWER. HE EVEN CHECKED THE DIP TUBE OF OUR HOT WATER HEATER. TOM IS TRULY TERRIFI

I LEFT A MESSAGE FOR BILL IN OCT. 2004; HE NEVER RETURNED MY PHONE CALL. I LET IT GO. RECENTLY, WE HAD MECH WORK DONE BY NEW COMPANY. THEY POINTED OUT THAT THE HUMIDIFIER WAS MISSING POSITIVE WATER SHUTOFF. I CALLED BILL AGAIN ON 1/19/05 AND LEFT A MESSAGE EXPLAINING SITUATION, & ASKED HIM TO CALL ME TO DISCUSS. MY HOPE WAS THAT HE WOULD FIX THIS, SINCE IT SHOULD BE PART OF PROPER HUMIDIFIER INSTALLATION. AGAIN, HE NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL.

HE EXAMINED THE FURNACE AND AGREED IT WAS THE DRAFT INDUCER. THE VISIT FOR DIAGNOSIS- $50. DELJO CALLED THE NEXT DAY STATING THEY HAD THE PART AND WE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR 2-4PM FRIDAY. BRUCE SHOWED UP AFTER THIS TIME PERIOD BUT IT IS A FRIDAY, AT THE END OF A DAY, IN UNPLOWED STREETS,.. SO NO BIG DEAL. AFTER HE ENTERED, HE PUT ON BOOTIES TO COVER HIS SHOES SO AS NOT TO TRACK IN THE SNOW. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THAT SINCE I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE WHITE CARPET WE HAVE. IT TOOK 30 MINUTES TO REPLACE WARRANTY DRAFT INDUCER MOTOR AND BLOWER - $198.
Description of Work: THE INITIAL VISIT INVOLVED CHECKING MY HEATER AND IDENTIFYING THE PROBLEM WHICH WAS THE INDUCER DRAFT MOTOR AND BLOWER. THIS INCLUDED CHECKING WITH THE OFFICE THAT THE PART I NEEDED WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE NEXT VISIT INVOLVED REPLACING THE PART AND TESTING IT, ALL OF WHICH TOOK ONLY 30 MINUTES.

DELJO HAS BEEN VERY RESPONSIVE IN RETURNING PHONE CALLS AND GETTING BACK TO US WITH REQUESTED INFORMATION. TECHNICIAN CAME EARLIER THAN PROMISED, WAS FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS. THE PROBLEM TURNED OUT TO BE ELECTRIC, BUT HE WAS ABLE TO WORK OUT A TEMPORARY SOLUTION FOR US, UNTIL WE COULD HAVE THE PROBLEM RESOLVED.

DELJO HEATING AND COOLING PROVIDED ME WITH AN OVERALL EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. JOYCE WAS MY FIRST CONTACT WITH DELJO. I CALLED TO DISCUSS MY SERVICE NEEDS AND APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY. SHE WAS VERY PLEASANT AND PROFESSIONAL. SHE TRIED TO MEET MY SCHEDULING NEEDS BUT DID NOT OVER PROMISE. SHE PROVIDED ME WITH VERY GOOD ADVICE REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF A DIGITAL THERMOSTAT AND WHEN I SHOULD CHANGE THE HEATER FILTERS. BRUCE, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN, ARRIVED ON TIME, WAS VERY POLITE AND ANSWERED ALL (AND THERE WERE MANY)OF MY QUESTIONS. HE RECOMMENDED THAT I USE A DIFFERENT FILTER FOR THE SYSTEM AND CHANGED IT FOR ME. HE INSTALLED THE NEW THERMOSTAT AND PROGRAMMED IT FOR ME. HE CLEANED AND SERVICED THE HUMIDIFIER AND NOTICED THAT A KEY MECHANISM WAS MISSING. SINCE HE DID NOT HAVE THE MECHANISM IN HIS VAN, HE SUGGESTED THAT I SET UP ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE MECHANISM INSTALLED. I GIVE DELJO HIGH MARKS AND WOULD RECOMMEND TO OTHERS WITHOUT PAUSE.

THE TECHNICIAN CLEANED MY TWO FURNACES, AND IN THE PROCESS NOTED THAT MY HUMIDIFIERS WERE NOT PROPERLY WIRED. IN FACT, THEY HAD NOT BEEN WORKING AT ALL IN THE YEAR WE HAD BEEN IN OUR NEW HOME. THE INITIAL INSTALLER HAD NOT PROPERLY WIRED THEM. DELJO WIRED THEM PROPERLY AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO ME. I WILL USE THEM FOR ANY FUTURE REPAIRS AND FUTURE CLEANINGS.

I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ONE HALF HOUR IN ADVANCE, SO I HAD TIME TO GET THERE. NO CALL; GREG SHOWED UP AND LUCKILY I WAS THERE. HE DID NOT CHECK THE THERMOSTAT. OTHERWISE DID ALL EXPECTED.
