Bill was punctual with getting me a quote and was quite accommodating with scheduling the services. Everything went according to my schedule and was done faster than I anticipated

I think it went well overall, but we had a bit of a problem during the process. I called 5 companies on a Saturday. I wanted to get it done quickly. They returned my phone call very quickly, and I was pleased. They gave me a estimate, and they were the lowest of 2 estimates. (The other 3 companies were a bit slow in responding.) I had difficulty in determining which to select, but in the end I chose them because of all their awards. (I don't believe in selecting for price unless all other considerations are equal because I believe you sometimes get what you pay for.) They came out and cleaned the deck, and I found black marks on the deck and determined they had not been there before. (I turned out, in the end, to be very mistaken on this point.) I called Bill, the owner, who was the nicest man and very reasonable. I told him my theory. I thought the marks hadn't been there before because I thought I would have seen them. (I just wasn't paying that much attention.) I also noted that they didn't make a note of the marks on their report although they did make a note of another potential issue with the deck. Bill came to my home HIMSELF to look at the problem, and he showed me a picture of the deck before they began work which clearly showed the marks. I understand this was my error, but I think we could have saved some time had he told me he had pictures showing me the marks. I probably would have believed him. I thought his willingness to come to my house himself was a mark of true professional who delivers excellent customer service. So, even though he showed me the pictures a bit late (it was like a Perry Mason drama), I still think they did a really good job. They cleaned up behind themselves and were very pleasant people.

They were able to give us a quote without anyone being home. Their estimate was $800 less than anpther we had gotten, and when I talked to Bill, he volunteeres the angies list discount, which I hadn't remembered. They sent extensive and clear materials, were felxible in scheduling, called to confirm a few days in advance, came on time, and worked quickly. The deck looks great.

It went just fine. My 14 year old deck is in good condition. I have cleaned and stained it a few times over the years. I felt I needed to start over at this point and sand off all the old stain. I looked on Angie's list for options. I called CDCS and talked to Bill. He seemed convincing that his sealer, Rymer brand, was the thing to use. He only uses this one product. He recommended a sanding company because all he does is clean and stain. I Sanded just the floor, steps and tops of rails. I have many spindles and felt it was to expensive to hand sand all the spindles. So I re-stained the spindles myself, leaving the other work to Bill. Everthing turned out beautifully, and I don't mind at all that my spindles are a different color(darker) from the rest of the deck. In fact we like it a lot. Bill was a gentleman, knowledgable and professional. The proof with deck work is in longevity. So I will see how this finish holds up over time. I'm expecting it to look good for at least three years.

We hired them to take care of the back deck, stairs, roof decks (which were brand new) and our neighbors' decks. They were able to break the quote down into three parts based on our needs. They not only quoted the job but they educated us on pressure-treated wood, what the best options were and how/when we should do each stage. They were professional, courteous, diligent and timely with the entire project. They even told us what to do going forward to maintain the quality of the work done. We definitely will hire them again and will recommend them to anyone.

Found company on Angie's List and emailed for information. Received an email and phone response the next day and estimator came out the next week. Due to summer season, work was slated to take place about a month out. Helpful to have company owner Bill Haderlein proactively communicate estimated start date and subsequently how work was progressing.

I was very pleased with the service by Chicagoland deck. Their bid was $500 less than the other bid I received. What I loved is how Bill set expectations properly. Once I gave them the go-ahead (probably in April or May), Bill told me right away that we'd go on "the list" and it would probably be end of June or mid-July before they got to us. Said that he'd call when we made the shortlist about 2 weeks prior and then when it was the day before. It worked exactly how he said it would. They even noted when we'd be on vacation and when we made the shortlist, mentioned that they'd make sure not to come while we were gone. The work was done in 2 days. I moved some smaller items off the deck, but left he grill and teak patio furniture on the deck. As an added bonus, Chicagoland Deck powerwashed our teak tables and chairs, which was a wonderful surprise. They look so much better! The staining was done the next day and we are pleased with the color and the quality. Bill warned us that the stain may be uneven due to wear on the deck and he was correct, but it's minor variations. We did see one brush left in our yard and a couple of small splashes of stain on our siding, but it was *very* minor. We will definitely use this company again, if only for the fact that it's such a pleasure to have a contractor be up front about what to expect and then meet those expectations.

Called in April and they were booked till beginning of July. Called a few weeks before arriving to let me know I was on the "short" list and then again to schedule the date. Workers arrived on time and finished project. New plants had just been planted and they were careful not to destroy any of them. Deck and fence look great. Will have them back in a few years and will call earlier.

They were very nice and easy to work with. They were prompt and did a fine job. Even when several of the flowers in the planters beneath our pergola were accidentally sprayed with sealer (killing them), the owner came out again promptly when I called to discuss it and immediately refunded the cost of replacing the flowers, no questions asked. I will certainly use this company again.

I got several estimates and they were the cheapest by a huge margin, generally about half of other contractors. I checked into what type of sealants they were using because other contractors said that they must be using a low quality sealant. Don't fall for that one!! The sealant Chicagoland Deck Cleaners uses is actually more expensive to buy than what the others wanted to use. Only downside is that it is difficult getting them scheduled because they are so busy, but they are very upfront about that and if you are willing to wait a few weeks, they end up coming exactly when they said they would.

Chicagoland Deck & Cleaning did a great job. Our construction was finally finished in the late summer, and when we called CD & C they were already booked for the next few months, so they weren't able to finally do our waterproofing until early November. I spoke with Bill Haderlein on the phone, and he was very knowledgeable and professional. When he sent us his quote for getting the work done he also included an info page explaining the sealing process, how it would be scheduled and what we would need to do to prepare. He also sent 4 pages of addresses for other projects they had completed, in case we wanted to go see their handiwork. We had to re-schedule the work a few times due to rain or cold weather, but once they came out they did a great job, prompt and efficient and cleaned up after themselves. We actually had this work done a few years ago, and he just sent us a quote for what it would cost for re-sealing the stairs this year...he beat us to the punch! We will be using his services again this spring, and would not think of using another firm.

I called Bill and he put me in the queue for service, encouraging me to inquire if neighbors also wanted cleaning for a cheaper price per unit. I appreciated his advice, but our neighbors didn't need cleaning and sealing, so we went it alone; next cleaning I will be proactive for a group rate. He called after a week to schedule a visit to get our deck's specs and the crew arrived within a week after that for a two-day cleaning/sealing. The team was attentive to cleanliness and accommodated our concerns for accessing our neighbor's deck below so as not to spot. The crew hammered in loose nails and made our deck a lot more usable.

Chicagoland did a lot of things for me through my condo association. They cleaned, stained,& sealed three of our condo decks and the wooden fence that surrounds our property. Sometimes I felt that the owner of the company was rather curt and abrupt at times but they got the work done. I can deal with a little crankiness if they are going to do the work. In less than a year the decks started looking old again. I felt that they should have lasted longer. I called the owner and he was great. They don't actually offer a guarantee on their work, but he offered to come back out and do all three decks again, free of charge which he didn't have to do.

We called them originally to seal our new deck. I'm not even sure I saw them, but I came home one day and they were done. It was fairly low maintenance, and I did not interact with them much because it was an outdoor thing. I inspected the deck to make sure they didn't miss any spots, and that they had lifted the furniture off the deck while they sealed it, and it all seemed like they did exactly I expected them to do. We have not had any problems. The price was good- fairly inexpensive.

They are absolutely phenomenal! I have used them twice now, and I'm just going to start using them regularly. They answer the phone, and you talk to someone that can actually help you. They do the job exactly as they say they are going to do it, and do a thorough job. They also sent me a follow-up letter telling me about how I can better take care of my deck. They are just good people! I think they're unique among businesses now, because they work with you 100%. I really love them.

The deck hadn't been refinished in approximately 10 years and Chicagoland Deck was concerned that the outcome wouldn't be optimal. The deck looks like new. They accessed our rooftop via exterior fire escape. There was no evidence they had come to carry out the service with the exception of the impressive finished result. Their return visit to stain and seal was conducted while we were out of the country. I was very impressed with the quality, service and cost. A tremendous value. They completed the work within 3 weeks of providing the estimate in October as the weather was starting to change.

The Company was very prompt in all aspects of its service. After placing the initial call, I had a quote within a week.
