I had a multiple plumbers review our options and quote us. Charlie had the best solution for moving our sink without blowing major holes in our walls and ceilings. He quoted a very fair price, and offered to come back after the kitchen was complete to hook up everything from the sink to the stove. I was nervous to pay him 95% for the rough-in because I was not sure anyone would be motivated to return to do a bunch of little jobs for nominal final payment. Fortunately, this was not a concern. He met me at the Home Depot so I could purchase exactly what I needed so I did not have to pay a markup for him to buy the equipment. He spent a better half of a day working on my project and did not charge any more than the original quote. The job went well and this would probably be the least stressful plumbing job I have had.

Set up an appointment for an estimate. Charlie did come and surveyed the area. He was suppose to give me an estimate on Sunday. Didn't here from him. He did call on Monday to tell me he didn't forget but would call back on Tuesday with an estimate. One week later...no estimate. Update: 4-6-11 Charlie phoned to apologize about not following up with me as he had a personal emergency. In light of that information I will give a chance on future work. Unfortunately it was too late for this job.

Charlie was perfect! I would recommend him to anyone. On time, fair price, and did an excellent job.

had a toilet water tank that had a small leak from the tank into the bowl and that had not stopped after I had replaced the flapper twice. I had Charlie and his assistant scratching their heads until they applied superior logic, having ruled out all other apparent possibilities, and they felt down inside the valve below the flapper where they found a odd insert that sitting just inside the valve. Problem solved.

I contacted Charlie to install water lines and gas pipes for washer and dryer in a single family home that was in the final process of renovation as a rental. A licensed electrician had brought up the electrical to code, but the contractor, as part of the kitchen remodeling job, had done plumbimg from kitchen to basement. Charlie did an excellent job in installing the water lines, gas pipes and connections for the washer and dryer. He was also very thorough and generous with his time in reviewing the whole house inside-outside plumbing without any expectation of being hired to do additional work. He was very patient in helping me understand technical requirements and what options were available to avoid future problems. Charlie discovered that water lines from the dishwasher and pipes from kitchen to basement had been installed incorrectly. In addition, there were many basement plumbing ?repairs? the previous elderly owner had done that were of a temporary nature and had potential for disaster. Based on my initial experience of Charlie?s performance, I did hire him to update all the kitchen and basement plumbing, install new vanity and fixtures in two bathrooms, clean outside sewer, and other miscellaneous work. He also volunteered work free of charge outside the scope of our agreement, like replacing broken tiles and caulking the bathtub. Charlie?s responsiveness to my scheduling needs and the quality of his finished work were excellent, and his fees were fair considering the work done, the time spent and the good quality. I am confident the plumbing is in order now, and I also know I can count on Charlie for other requirements or for any emergencies 24/7 that may come up in the future.

Our old furnace kicked the bucket in the first freeze. We used Charlie's in the past to fix some gas leaks and were pleased with his service, so we called on him again. Charlie does excellent work. For this problem, he identified the issue quickly (worn blower motor) and acquired and replaced the motor within three hours of starting the job. He was very thorough in explaining the problems and honest about the amount of work required. Given its age, we suspected we need a full furnace replacement, but he assured us the replaced part would work through the winter and recommended we wait until warmer weather to pull the plug. Our only quibble is responsiveness and punctuality. For the past two jobs, scheduled appointment times went way past and it has taken more than one call to find out when Charlie would arrive. To be fair, he was apologetic for the delays and made adjustments to the price to make up for the inconvenience. The price was very reasonable in the end. Charlie is very good and is in demand, to be sure.

Charlie is very professional and responsive. I would not hesitate to use Charlie should we ever need any plumbing work.

Charlie and his assistant, Sean, were very friendly and easy to work with. They worked hard when they were at my house and I am very happy with the quality of their finished work. Charlie ran into several issues throughout the course of the project (including hidden gas lines in the walls, etc. He worked around these problems and kept me aware of them. In the end, the problems resulted in some additional costs, but I think Charlie's rates were very fair. We also hired Charlie to fix some leaks in the bathroom and run some new pipes under the kitchen sink. Both of those projects were finished on the same day and we have not had any problems since. My only concern is that it took a while to get the project started. It took two weeks from the time I contacted Charlie until he actually started (longer than he initially said on the phone). The project also took longer to complete than we anticipated. Part of that was due to the unforeseen issues he encountered (described above). I also think we did this project during a busy time of year (March \ April) when contactors like Charlie have lots of projects going at the same time. Charlie often did not arrive at our house until the afternoon and then would work into the evening. Overall, I was very happy with Charlie and I would use him again and recommend him to others.

I have used them before and it went well for us. The guy is pretty good.

Couldn't have asked for better, more prompt service. Charlie talked me through the entire process and did the work in a very quick and efficient manner.

I called Charlie at about 9:00 am. He picked up immediately and said he could come that same day, but not until sometime after 11:00. True to his word, shortly after 11:00 he called to say that he was nearly there. As it turns out, all that was needed was a little expert plunging. Charlie charged me only $85 for this prompt visit, which in my experience is lower than most plumbers' minimum charges. He also cheerfully stuck around for another ten minutes or so to look at a couple of things relating to the house's plumbing and answer my questions, free of charge. I will definitely call Charlie the next time I have a plumbing issue.

Experience was very good with Charlie. I thought that $125 was a bit higher than I had anticipated given some of the more recent postings here on Angie's List, but I neglected to inquire about that in advance, so I can't really fault Charlie in that regard. Best to ask up front. Still, Charlie is patient and informative and genial. I would use him again.

Great- he came at the time we had decided upon, was available on the weekend, and only charged $50 for the weekend house call.

I called Charlie and he called me back within 24 hours. When I returned his call he was able to come over the same day. He listened to the problem, checked it out and offered his expertise. We didn't have to have any work done but would definitely call him again.

It went great. Initially needed to repair a broken water heater, found out about bad ventilation out. Spent the whole day and next with coworker rebuilding exhaust through roof from water heater and furnace to ensure no carbon monoxide stayed in place. This was a valid problem as I know the work that was previously done by previous owner was shoddy, and the wires looked very clumsily put together. Verified that air was coming out of roof after it was rebuilt. VERY fair price and explained everything he did as well as ALWAYS answering calls, which has always been a problem for me with other contractors. I checked Angie's list when one of my tenants called me to report flooding in the basement. As an absentee landlord, I was extremely concerned. I called Charlie's Plumbing because he was highly rated and resonably close to my property. Charlie was very helpful throughout the process. He didn't sweat the fact that I had to overnight a check, and he even worked with the hardware store to make sure the heaters got delivered before the fourth of July holiday! Charlie worked late on the second to ensure that my tenants had their new heaters and hot water - and he called me throughout the entire process. I was really happy with Charlie's service. It is really hard sometimes to find good contractors - especially when you live far from your property. I am grateful that there are people like Charlie that take pride in doing a good job at a fair price, even on a tight schedule. I would definitely use Charlie's plumbing again. Charlie really helped us when we were in a tight spot. He was very personable and cared about doing a good job. He was aptient and generous with his time. He even performed a minor plumbing repair for me on the spot despite the fact that he came to help us fix our A/C. I would recommend his services.

HE did take it upon himself to drive onto my grass and leave a nice dent in my grass. He did tell me about it, he didn't think he had enough on the driveway. HE was okay, good enough

Charlie is really great to work with. He was definitely able to come out within the hour we called him. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. He helped us handle the situation well, and was very personable and communicated well.

I called Charlie on a Friday morning after we discovered that we had a blocked drain or sewer. He said he would be able to come by the next day (Saturday) right after a morning appointment that was already scheduled. He called like he said he would and then showed up within 15 minutes of his estimate. Charlie was very methodical in his approach and he explained everything he was doing. He cleaned up very well after the service call. I was very pleased with the professionalism and the service experience.

I was getting quotes on flood control systems for my basement and Charlie was one of the 3 I called. Of the three, he was the only one to offer me options. Charlie spent a considerable amount of time explaining the different systems available and made suggestions on the best possible and cost efficient one suitable for my basement. He recommended that I try using a stand pipe since it seemed that a stand pipe was used before. He suggested that I have a camera run through the buildings main sewer line first to find out what type of pipe I have (cast iron or clay) and what condition it's in. Charlie did not charge for the hour of discussion. A few days later I had Charlie come and run the camera through the buildings main sewer line. Charlie explained in detail what we were seeing on the monitor. The price was fair for the time spent and the reassurance that the sewer line was in good condition. Based on what we saw in the camera and Charlies recommendation I decided to try the standpipe. I had him come back a third time. He rethreaded an existing hole were the old standpipe used to be and then installed a new 5' standpipe. It took less than an hour and the price was ok (much less than any other system). A few days later we had a 2 day rainfall and the standpipe actually worked! (I had my doubts). A rain like that would normally mean water gushing into the basement from the old standpipe hole.

Everything went smoothly. Charlie called back the day after I contacted him, made an appointment, and showed up on time. He fixed the toilet and the sink handle in about a half hour. He advised me that if the toilet continues to cause problems, we will have to replace a part, but he tried to avoid that by making some adjustments. He had to take apart the sink handle to fix it.
